  1. I think this move is a bit daft TBH. We would never have got enough JCL memberships to fill out the stadium and leave some of the original members without tickets. I am pretty sure this game will still go to general sale. I doubt anyone would have signed up £20 for membership, plus a ticket, just to watch Man Utd. If they had though, it would just have been more income for the club.
  2. Doesn't really tell the story. For a start many of Saga's sub appearances were less than 10 minutes. Colceshter, home - Came on with 30s of injury time left. Ipswich, away - Came on in the 88th minute. If we take the average length of time he was on the pitch for those sub appearances as 15 mins. 16 sub appearances works out roughly as 3 full games. That takes his total to 17 for the season. If you take into account that DMG seems to have some God-given right to be on the pitch (22 starts, 1 sub and how many times can you remember him being taken off?) and the fact that 2 of those goals came in a League Cup tie against Exeter another was a penalty... he really isn't that good. So... DMG - 4 goals (3 from open play) in 22 full League games Saga - 3 goals (4, but for some reason nobody counts his goal at PNE) in 17 Full League Games. If any of that is unfair, please explain how.
  3. Part of me thinks this, but all of me knows Davis is never going to get an England call up, no matter how good he is for us this season. I would disagree. Oakley was no Steven Gerrard, but he was a key player in a very good Prem team at the time. F**k me, if Jermaine Jenas gets what seems like a lifetime membership, I think we could have found room for Oakley. Last season Bullard got into the squad after a few decent performances for Fulham and I can't see Man Utd swooping for him in January.

    Lapland

Indeed. Fancy not having the time and money for a trip to Northern Finland.
  5. I seem to remember a group of Saints fans singing, "you're fit, and you know you are!" At a policewoman on a horse after last seasons fixture. Could have sworn some of her colleagues were singing it too actually.
  6. Bit of a stealth moose that one, shouldn't really be allowed around drunks.
  7. My appologies, I didn't go and wasn't aware that was the local boozer. Please continue.
  8. :-s Saints related?
  9. Why are some people fixated with being beaten by the Skates at home? Are you guys masochists or something? At least no one really gives a sh*t if we get beaten by Man Utd.
  10. He has 3. Euell, BWP, Pekhart, Robertson and Paterson have 4 between them. :smt102
  11. Rasiak has a season long loan. It's Saga who will be back in January. And he will be back, even if he then goes out somewhere else. He seems to have fallen out of favour with the new Aalborg manager and is scarcely in the team these days. Chez, he is not Dobie. He had healthy scoring records at Lodz (in 2 seperate spells), Legia and Vitoria.
  12. And chucked a flare at Paul Smith just after their 3rd goal.
  13. FFS guys! Is it really that hard to just be pleased we've got a plum tie and discuss that, rather than who is the bestest best fan ever because they hate/love Lowe the most, go to the most games, have the same star sign as MLT or stalk the most players?
  14. Can we discuss the issues, not each other please chaps.
  15. If people pay to watch the match, I couldn't care if they were Pompey fans TBH.
  16. Davis Cork - Pearce - Perry - Skacel Lallana - Schneiderlin - Surman - Holmes Rasiak - Saganowski H.T.H.
  17. What about the players returning? I wonder if John and Saganowski will be allowed a go up front. I can imagine if Pearce stayed he would be cup tied. Cork wouldn't if he stayed because he wouldn't then go out on loan elsewhere and I doubt he is in Chelsea's plans. Robertson I think will go back, if nothing else because the Blades don't want to keep Dyer any longer. Pekhart... I don't really know or care. Wouldn't be in my team anyway.
  18. F*cking brilliant. If I am not working, I'm travelling down from Glasgow to watch that one!
  19. Ah bugger, I forgot about them. Oh well. Back to the prozac for me.
  20. I think that's the crux of the matter. Saga gets more stick for his poor season last year, because he was fantastic the year before. Yes his scoring rate was very poor last season, but why are people obsessed with that and ignore the fantastic performances which got us into the playoffs. If he can repeat the drought, he can repeat the goal-rush. DMG was crap in League 1 last season. He gets a run in the team and has netted 6 so far. Saga has a much better attitude and given chance I think he could have gotten 8 or 9.
  21. Aaaagh, you beat me to it. We did have the wrong Dyer too. Back on topic, I hope Walsall take Nectar points because, er... they're not getting money.
  22. Well, Saga only started 15 games last season. My point is just because he didn't score, doesn't mean he can't. DMG hadn't managed to score or make much impression on the CCC at all in 2 years of not taking his chances. If he is suddenly a stalwart in the team, I think we can find room for a player like Saga who CAN score and works hard up front. Sorry, but I've spent more than enough on going to the Bristol City, Wolves, Reading and Plymouth games. TBH I wouldn't chose to spend £60 and a return train journey from Lincolnshire for a 0-0 draw, no matter how entertaining it is. For the record DMG got 2 goals in 18 games in League 1 last year. He also got 0 goals in 11 games for Saints. http://www.soccerbase.com/players_details.sd?playerid=37797
  23. Eh? How many goals did DMG score last season? And how many assists?
  24. I've got a lot of competition for jawillywilly, thought I'd make sure.
