THe guy is bloody useless. Never want to see him in a Saints shirt again. Simply strolled his way through the game yesterday, making mistake after mistake and jogging back as opposed to trying to fix his mistakes. Did CHelsea really pay 22 million for him?

If ever there was a damning indictment of our abominable transfer policy under SR, here it is. I make that around 35 signings (loan + permanent) and being generous (at best) there may be 4 or 5 possible decent buys amongst them. Our scouting team should all be fired - we'd have more success with MLG using CHampionship Manager! Absolutely staggering: putting a blindfold on and throwin darts at a wall to pick players would have more success than SR!!! And this is why we have several years of mediocrity ahead of us I think. I don;t have any confidence in SR getting ANY decision right, let alone recruitment. 2022/23 season Gavin Bazunu - could be decent in the future Mateusz Lis - never played for Saints Armel Bella-Kotchap - Tin Man from Wizard of Oz: no heart Roméo Lavia - hit Joe Aribo - very poor footballer with no pace Sékou Mara - not sure how he can be classed as a footballer Duje Ćaleta-Car - utter waste of money Samuel Edozie - utter waste of money Juan Larios - does he still exist? Mislav Oršić - utter waste of money Carlos Alcaraz - showed promise but dispatched by Martin as he was too much of a free spirit James Bree - poor Championship player Paul Onuachu - no comment! Kamaldeen Sulemana - utter waste of money 2023/24 season Flynn Downes - great Championship player but doubtful he is Prem quality Ryan Fraser - OK for CHampionship as an impact sub but never in a million years a Prem player any longer Mason Holgate - utter waste of space Taylor Harwood-Bellis - good Championship player but not yet Prem quality IMHO Joe Rothwell - awful! David Brooks - very poor Shea Charles - mixed first year, could be a good player for us next season in the Championship Ryan Manning - Championship player that barely played last season but looks one of our better players this season Joe Lumley - backup and not good enough Ross Stewart - why? 2024/25 season Adam Lallana - free transfer, low risk but always injured Charlie Taylor - cannot get a game even under the new management Ronnie Edwards - one for the future but seemingly miles away from being ready for the first team Nathan Wood - reasonable signing for the money but not a Prem quality player Yukinari Sugawara - a liability as a defender Ben Brereton Díaz - truly awful sigining Cameron Archer - signed after an underwhelming season with Sheff Utd and looking underwhelming again this season Juan - on loan at Goztepre and not tearing up any trees Mateus Fernandes - really good signing but likely here for 1 season Aaron Ramsdale - don't really understand the love-in. Good shot stopper but other factes of his game are not so good Welington - forgot we signed him. Hope he's not like Lyanco

Different manager, same shite. This is on SR with their terrible recruitment and waiting so long when it was clear Martin would not work out in the Prem. I think Saints will struggle in the Championship next season. Ramsdale, Fernandes and Dibling likely won;t be here next season and we'll be left with crap like Archer, Armstrong, Bree, Manning, Bednarek, Wood, BBD. I think everyone can agree Tall Paul is not our answer up front. While we lacked a focal point when he went off he was pretty dreadful when he was on.
-
Apart from the first 20 minutes this is as bad as anything Martin served up this season. Armstrong is stealing a living and playing 3 CBs is clearly not working. Bree is terrible - and somehow Sulemana gets another chance to show everyone just how bad he is.
-
Yet another one that posters seem to have developed a different view on since Martin left. Sulemana, bar one meaningless game, has shown absolutely nothing to suggest he is a decent player. Yes he's fast bu he has no footballing brain and always makes the wrong decision. Him and Tall Paul were terrible buys
-
Good god, posters' blind hatred (yes hatred) for Martin seems to make you forget the real reasons ABK is out in the cold: Him and Salisu had a terrible attitude during the relegation season and basically bottled it (as confirmed by various sources/the club) He couldn't wait to leave He refused to play for the U21s Someone with good connections posted on here that some of the players said that he has an appalling attitude, one of the worst of any professional they have encountered But let's say it Martin's fault for freezing him out. Juts like Lesley had one decent sub performance but is now a world beater that Martin mistreated (with the same posters having lambasted his performances previously).
-
SO our one creative player, that can actually make things happen, is taken off while the useless piece of shit that is Armstrong stays on. What a dull, uninspiring team/squad we have. Throughly depressing club.
-
Of course, but everything I have read about him and his teams drove my assumptions. One thing is clear, SR are all over the place and this appointment doesn't seem to sit with the style the owners wanted to see when they appointed Martin. I hope I'm wrong and he turns out to be great......I just dont think that will be the case, similar feeling to when we appointed Jones.
-
Very underwhelmed: for those crying out for a more attacking style, he does not seem the guy to implement it. Plus he has never managed outside of Italy (I believe) which is hardly a bastion of attacking, free flowing football. I have a feeling we are in for some extremely turgid football.

Reading the very sad tale of Joey Beauchamp and thinking some of it (not the post playing career part) may have some parallels with Tyler. Before a lot of peoples time on here I'm sure but Beachamp was a great player for Oxford and made a move to West Ham but left after 56 days or so as he was deeply unhappy and really wanted to be at Oxford and so moved back. Times were not kind to Beauchamp after he finished playing and he sadly took his own life. The only reason I bring this up is that Tyler left Chelsea after a short time there and it seems that, even if we go down, that perhaps Tyler is better staying at Saints: certainly for 2-3 seasons more (when he'll still be only 21!), especially as many articles have said he is quite shy and introverted and that perhaps the bright lights and spotlight on him will not be a good thing for him personally at such a young age. Or maybe that is wishful thinking on my part as he is the only bright spot this season!
-
I assume you are joking? The same manager who was a laughing stock at WBA and is currently managing in the SPanish 2nd division?
-
For me, what spoke volumes about Martin was his smug, arrogant responses when Rishi Sunak was present at St Marys last season. Treat people how you would like to be treated is my motto.....and Martin's arrogance and smugness came back to bite him on the bum. His complete refusal to modify the playing style (when everyone knew we could not play that same way in the Prem) essentially means we have had a wasted season. That being said SR are terrible owners. Have they gotten a single decision right since taking over? Keep that wanker Ankusssen as far away from the club as possible.
-
And that lineup just shows how bad and shit a squad we have. Maybe 2 Prem quality players there (Dibling and Fernandes).....and that would likely be our strongest team!
-
Well, somehow my Washington COmmanders hung on for the win, despite playing as badly in the 2nd half as Saints did in the 1st half. Ironically the COmmanders were playing the Saints
-
Wow, he takes Manning off who has been OK and leaves KWP (who has been shit all season) on. What a muppet
-
AGree. Him and Downes are vastly overrated
-
Adam Armstrong really is shit. As is Aribo, Bednarek, etc. On that pitch only Fernandes and Dibling have anything about them. WHat an utter disgrace this club is.
-
I feel for Sulemana.......the comic defending was nothing to do with him and the idiot yanks him. Whatever, anyone thinks of Suleman's abiliities that is plain wrong and will destroy any confidence he has left. Martin has to be history, tonight.
-
Why is anyone taking anythong Soze says at face value? He's always been a wind up merchant.
-
What an absolutely awful squad we have. AA, Archer, BBD, Fraser, Sulemana, Cornet as 'attacking' players are absolute garbage. Lesley - what was the point? Lallana - injured the last 2-3 seasons and carrying that on with Saints Garbage squad, garbage manager, garbage recruitment and garbage owners
-
Sulemana on with 3 mnutes left. Why? Please put Russell, and us, out of his misery
-
BBD coming on - this can only mean goals, goals, goals. At least for Villa
-
SAA did more in 30 seconds than Archer or Armstrong the whole game. And Armstrong on his heels as opposed to gambling on that fantastic cross from SAA.
-
We've been screwed since the start of the season with the terrible summer recruitment and this manager.
-
WHy am I wasting my life watching Saints? This is utter dirge: sideways, sideways, backwards. Absolutely no threat or excitement to our play. When we have a chance to break we check and look for the slow sideways pass (or back). It does not take a rocket scientist to work out that slow build up play allows the opposition to get men behind the ball and reset. ANd yet, when you see DIbling break at pace you see what could be possible
