  1. Although he did not do a great deal (and Saints had basically run out of ideas) his one flick over Joelinton was a thing of beauty. He should really come good this season.
  2. I hope never to see McCarthy in a Saints shirt again. Absolute liability waiting to happen every game
  3. Very poor last 30 minutes - Alcaraz has done more since he came on than any other attacking player. SAA with a nice cameo but we are simply not good enough and have no attacking threat. Edozie is utter tripe.
  4. I said Edozie was really not very good - I was wrong, he is utter shite
  5. This game is summing up while it will be a long, hard struggle this season. We look great - until the final 3rd where we look hopeless. Lots of positives from this game but if a new GK is not in place for the Forest game that would be criminal. Looks like we have run out of ideas on how to break them down.
  6. Edozie really is not very good. Flatters to deceive with no end product whatsoever. I'd certainly have SAA ahead of him.
  7. Archer and Dibling hopefully
  8. Troyes - crikey, how the mighty have fallen! I remember when we signed Michael Svensson from them if memory serves me right. Good luck for the new season Christophe
  9. Not really a gamble. Play Edozie instead? A player that could not hit a barn door and flatters to deceive every time he plays? If Tyler does not get good minutes this season he should look elsewhere. It's both encouraging and scary at the same time that he and SAA seem to have been our best players this pre-season.
  10. We have AA who plays on the right, we have SAA who plays there and we also have Dibling who can play there. Add in Ryan Fraser and that equals more than 0. I just don't understand this Palace link at all - it will send the completely wrong message to the youth squad ....has this player ever done anything to warrant being brought in?
  11. I think you're missing my point.......none of these came through our Academies and I struggle to see what Edozie has that Dibling/SAA do not. For 10 million+ SHea CHarles should have offered a massive amount more last season than he did
  12. Our 'pathway' is pretty much non-existent. The likes of Dibling and Meghoma should have had more minutes last year - both looked extremely good prospects who were getting better with the more minutes they played. This ridiculous link to a Palace young player that appears to be of a lower level than SAA and Dibling highlights our stupid strategy which appears to be ignore our own young players and buy in other young players from youth programs. Obviously Lavia and Livramento were big successes (financially) but Bazunu, Edozie, Charles, Larios, Simeu were/are not
  13. Nope, because it is embarrassing seeing middle aged adults act like stupid teenagers and "look at me, aren't I funny and clever, ha ha". All rather sad and pathetic.
  14. The Crystal Palace player link makes no sense whatsoever. Championship sides in for him and if he is signed by us what message does that send to SAA and Dibling (or others coming through) about their (non-existent) pathway to the first team.

    The Athletic

Why the trolling of Jacob Tanswell? He's an excellent reporter who is a Saints fan. The AThletic used to have tremendous coverage until the New York Times bought it and now they couldn't give a toss about clubs like Saints, likely because it does not make any money for them
  16. When he's not in the physios room: which has been most of his career. Sport Republic's transfer philosophy seems to be a 180 (and just as extreme) from when they came in. Signing older, over the hill players - a few years ago they would have been great but the likes of Ings, Ox, Reed, Lallana are all well past their 'best before' date. Guess we'll see how it all pans out.
  17. Actually we did - Puel. Does not seem that Martin is that guy though.
  18. So sorry for you and your family @Noodles34
  19. Strange link that one re. Bittencourt. Not torn up any trees and will be 31 in December so would question if he has the legs for the Prem. As for Broja, massive no. People are deluded if they think he would be a good buy. His form fell off a cliff for us and he has done nothing since and could not get a game at Fulham. When he played for us he was a very selfish player and when you take away his purple spell of 6-8 games he did nothing.
  20. Guy is truly a Saints legend. What passion and what it means to him. What a great day.
  21. 100% agree David. The abuse he has taken during the season was ridiculous with someone even today suggesting he should now be fired! It's been fair to criticize his tactics and formation at times this season but a lot of the abuse aimed at him was bang out of order. And funnily enough, from keyboard warriors who don't seem to attend games We should all savor this moment - winning at Wembley, promotion, etc. Next season will be tough and I doubt it will be enjoyable as the Championship has been this season. Well done Martin and all the players who made this a memorable season.
  22. What an utter t**t. Must be a Skate on a wind-up
  23. Some great memories of MD at Saints - and the protests when Chris Nicholl suspended him. Also remember him driving his car round the car park at the pub looking to knock people down! Absolute character, nothing like the iodine 'characters' in todays media age
  24. What a pointless thread. Martin is going nowhere. A bit like when Puel got fired the footballing public can't understand why Moyes is being let go despite doing a decent job. Yet most West Ham fans are glad to see the back of him: not because of results but because of his style of football. What an utter bunch of muppets....thank god, most Saints fans are not like the echo chamber muppets on here.
  25. I would not want to face either of these sides in the Play offs. This Saints side would crumble under the pressure
