  1. Great first 30 minutes then very poor end to the half. Alcaraz, Smallbone and Mara have been atrocious. Fraser, THB, Stephens and Lumley excellent with some bright spots from the 2 youngsters. Mara could/should have had a hat trick but is terrible in front of goal.
  2. Just as well you;re not the manager then genius - I'm sure Martin will be deeply concerned by what you think
  3. Stephens played well - not that many of the hysterical tarts on here could ever admit it. It's a joy to watch Saints these days and we played Norwich off the park. It's always difficult to score when the opposition park all 11 behind the ball. The fact that the team looked disappointed not to win shows what a huge culture shift there has been in this squad in such a short space of time. Manning also played well - but as he and Stephens are the current scapegoats the joyless buggers on here will never admit that.
  4. WTF are you on about? That was a really sweet attempt. There really are a good number of whining, self-entitled babies on this forum - Saints are well on top and will have to be patient. Manning has played OK, Stephens has played OK but the forum experts have to have their whipping boys.
  5. Going to be a tough test today, especially after already playing 3 games in the last few days. Have a nagging feeling that our run comes to an end today......hopefully very wrong on that!
  6. OMG - that was an incredible day. I was in the RAF at the time and based near Norwich. My girlfriend (now wife of 25+ years) came to see me and we had a few pints in the great Norwich pubs and then THE game. I remember when MOnkou scored there was an almighty bundle in the Saints end and everyone went flying and no-one could believe what had just happened. Amazing day, incredible game and a joy to watch Le Tiss at his majestic best. It really was a pleasure watching Bally's team for that short time period - attacking football, terrible defending but a team very together. Not anticipating a classic tomorrow unlike that game.
  7. Fraser's and Edozie's form (and Kameldeen back in January) makes it all the stranger that we are linked with wingers in January. JUst hope we can keep the winning run going Friday but doubt it will be as easy as the last 2 home games
  8. Not sure about ground it out. A really good game between two in-form teams. Fraser was outstanding when he came on: and Adams was beyond abysmal. Could easily have won 2 or 3 - 0 with a decent striker. 15 games unbeaten now - and you can clearly see the confidence is sky high. Long may it continue!
  9. What do you mean, its going to........
  10. Wow, just wow. So you'd rather be in the Prem stinking up the joint and hoping to scrape some narrow victories? I cannot believe the number of people who seem to want Saints to fail. If you cant enjoy this run I don't see how you'll ever be happy.
  11. Well, f**k off then and watch some other club. You really are quite tiresome with your constant negativity.
  12. You miserable t**t. We're on a 14 match unbeaten run, have won 5 at home in succession for the first time in lord knows how long yet all you are able to do is to complain. Your life must be thoroughly miserable if you cannot enjoy the run we are on.
  13. Unfortunately. 2 mistakes from 2 young players: Harwood-Bellis really should have cleared that and Bazunu absolutely has to save that. Another game unbeaten and this seems to be a freak year in the Championship in terms of the top 4 winning all the time. Still rather this than the Prem with that absolute joke of a VAR decision in the Palace game - nearly 2 minutes after the incident they give a penalty.
  14. OH please! Your stats are throughly misleading and twisted to make him seem like a revelation. We have conceded very few since early in the season when we were very porous. THis has all the hallmarks of the 'Danny Rohl was a genius and things went downhill after he left'. Lets face it none of us know what an assistants impact truly is.
  15. Such a miserable bunch on here. Yes, that 2nd half was poor but we're now 9 unbeaten....we are not going to win every game and will lose some we are expected to win. But this is a 46 game season, not a 17 game season. We are doing well after the 4 losses on the bounce. As ever people focus on the "lost" 2 points - does that mean as WBA are obviously now a world class outfit that we "won" 3 points as surely WBA should have beaten us. DItto Leeds. Get a life for goodness sake
  16. With all the furore over Everton, Chelsea and City it is clear the Prem is corrupt and money is at the root of anything. It's become harder and harder for clubs to compete without huge investments and likely will only get worse. I have thoroughly enjoyed the Championship so far - it's been entertaining, no VAR, we are actually winning games and scoring goals and no 'champagne' clubs: just proper clubs with anyone capable of winning on the day. Yes, we need promotion for financial, and to keep hold of players, reasons but the Championship is so superior to the Prem for sporting reasons.
  17. Esruu...does he still drive a cab? Poor old Keith. Got done up like a kipper by Mike wilde. Who can ever forget those 'lets go Wilde' t shirts? Total cringe times but quite hilarious with the reports from pre season in Sweden.
  18. Blimey, so many posters and so many memories! Completely forgot about Franks Cousin: wonder whatever happened to him? Catgate was one to remember too!
  19. Over the years there have been so many characters that were central to this, and the SaintsForever, forum. In the absence of anything to complain about right now from a Saints perspective, if you were to name 4 posters that used to be prolific and are conspicuous by their absence who would they be? Mine are: 1) Dubai_Phil - who could ever forget his countless tales of golfing prowess and name dropping. Didn't he end up living in Poland? 2) Guided Missile - always managed to wind up so many on here (and SaintsForever) with his posts. People just could not stop themselves responding! 3) Bad Boy Saint - complete plonker - whatever happened to him? 4) Help Me Rhonda - less said about this one the better! It seems incredible that so many years have been passed since first posting on Andy Mintrams forum (Marching In?) through SaintForever (who could ever forget LeggGate?) to this iteration. Reckon many of the posters who have remained on the forums must be, like me, mid 50s and older now!
  20. We get most of the games here in the US as, for some reason, Saints are typically chosen by ESPN+ as the live game most weeks (or so it feels).
  21. I don;t - watching the snoozefest that is West ham vs Everton and the quality is non-existent and teams play not to lose rather than to win. This year we have won more games already than we managed all of last season. We have already nearly scored as many goals as we did last season. We go into games knowing that we have a chance of winning in every game. Proper fans and proper stadiums. Yes, we know the money implications of not being in the Prem are significant (as is holding on to the better players) but I do feel the Championship is far more fun and interesting. The Premiership is over-hyped and only a handful of sides can truly be competitive because of the financial advantage they have.
  22. Brilliant! Not sure on any conspiracy theories - just think he's a bit rubbish!
  23. Oh, you mean like we wipes the floor with Leeds the week before. Loads of self entitle numpties on here these days. Totally disrespectful to Rotherham, especially their keeper who had a blinder and likely will never play that well again. We will win some, lose some and draw some. Yes, the style of walking football is baffling at times but the hatred - yes hatred - spewed at certain players and the manager is disgusting. Face it, its a game of soccer, not life and death.
  24. Sh**e club, sh**e players, s***e manager. The whole nonsense of buying and loaning man city players is ***E. Bellingham looks as bad as Holgate. Yet none of our own youngsters can get a look in. Done with this club
