  1. She IS a model. Not saying it is right to perv, but we should be proud of having a good looking side with good looking partners. I think it should be an important part of transfer policy, after all, we have all those years of Le Tiss and Dowie to make up for! As you say, you can appreciate that Pelle is a good looking lad and you are not 'even gay'... ...Although that suggests you might be 'odd gay'? ! ;-)
  2. Check out the videos from last years Spanish encampment. (Which was a major team building success). Same thing... ...some chat, some banter during mini games and dills, but overall appears weirdly flat. This is mainly because it is a video of people training, not a Hollywood blockbuster trailer or celebrity based reality knock out show. There is no sound editing, no editing really, no director, no actors and no one applying makeup or special effects. My favourites are the off the pitch videos, which seem to be endless pans and steadycams of players walking through carparks, opening doors for each other, ambling down corridors and eating breakfast. All very eerie and Derek Jarman-esque. (Seriously, I quite enjoy them).
  3. There is no obligation under UK law to print the truth. None at all. Providing what you write doesn't defame or incite hatred or criminal behaviour, then you are free to express whatever you like, however you like.
  4. Love that last phrase and I shall nick it! Well said.
  5. Finally found somewhere sort of safe to watch this. Its quite good innit? Not amazingly ground breaking or anything but a decent sound and yeah, in yer face. But I prefer Peaches for pure sexual aggression! Didn't realise she is the girl from the Grimes 'genesis' video! I bloody love Grimes, and have had the pleasure of meeting her a couple of times (she is a friend of a friend). A bit classier than this (brooke candy) to be fair, Grimes plays about with beat and melody like a slightly more 'Street' Bjork ! Here is that video for Genesis, so you can 'enjoy' Candy Brook without all the lesbian hip hop stuff.
  6. If we must name anything in 'tribute' to 'Mr Lowe' what about those blokes that wear the day-glo bibs and try to ruin everyone's fun (by telling 'em sit down and stuff)? Match Day Ruperts makes as much sense as Match Day Stewarts, after all. Aha. still sent from my effing nexus 4, but I have found the setting now dammit.
  7. Perfect for Saints though? Danny can make his 'dream move' to the 'team he supported as a boy' (Saints). Meanwhile Luke can benefit from the Burnley production line and dramatically improve over a couple of seasons (say, becoming top scorer in the championship in the 2015/16 season... ...before making his 'dream move' to the 'team he supported as a boy' (Saints). Burnley really are gonna love us. Although I heard the deal was off? :-( (Come on Burnley, pull your finger out; we can't be expected to develop all of our players ourselves, ffs!)
  8. We should get him in for the Watch contract, save a few grand on players signing. Mind you, if I could justify the price tag to Mrs. Polaroid, I would get one of those dragonfly print shirts. Lovely.
  9. This, is true... ...in most cases. It's like e.e. cummings has joined the Echo.
  10. Agree to a certain extent. I do get frustrated when people moan about 'one line' paragraphs - as if it is something new and not how ALL journalists and PR reps have been taught to write for the last forty years. Short 'pars', as I have explained before on TSW, are designed to get a message or point across succinctly. I am sure I am not the only NCTJ accredited member on this forum?!? That aside, THIS is not a good example of clear journalism. For example: " Both chairman Ralph Krueger and director*Les Reed have made statements that were quickly used to beat them with when their words were exposed as hollow ones.' This is garbled and tautological, and typical of the entire piece.
  11. Shexy. Well, shexy enough for me. Aha. still sent from my effing nexus 4, but I have found the setting now dammit.
  12. Agree. Was utterly disjointed in our squad the first year, was excellent in the cup games since, and shone evey time he came on in the league in 2014. Even so, I moaned and groaned whenever I saw he warm up or on the time sheet; but he always delivered and shut me up ('til the next time, cos I'm an idiot and it takes me a while...) People that dismiss his work rate were clearly still queuing for pies or watching the highlights after a bevvy or two too many or something! I admit that's how he started, but he worked as hard as anyone (in a very hard working side) second half of the season. If Lallana hadn't come so so very good last season, Gaston would have been first choice anyway. Oh, and he drinks 'special tea', so that tops everything really, obviously.
  13. Absolutely. Spain won the last world cup by scoring 8 goals in total. Germany spunked 7 away against Brasil the other night, which was a shocking waste, idiots. Clearly they will not win. Add a two each from Davis, Reed and McQueen, plus a couple of headers from Fonte and that's 20 games won! Surely top 8 finish again!? Aha. still sent from my effing nexus 4, but I have found the setting now dammit.
  14. Both Duckworth Lewis Method albums are amazing ain't they!? Brilliant to add to a whole load of songs on Random play - suddenly they come on and you're like wtf? And then Oooh yeah! Shuffle gets stopped and the whole record gets played. Strictly Summertime only though!
  15. I remember watching the Divine Comedy at the Joiners Arms years back and Neil doing a beautiful crowd accompanied version of 'My Lovely Horse' with only the faintest smattering of irony! Supporting the mighty Frank and Walters (still one of my favourite bands!)
  16. With the departures of three key players and rumours of others on this here forum, THIS is by far the scariest thing I have read. I really hope I have got the wrong end of the stick here! (He's not coming back is he?) :-o
  17. Crosses! Beats a man and crosses it. Blimey! Aha. still sent from my effing nexus 4, but I have found the setting now dammit.
  18. Tadic exploded with joy and promptly showed his impressive torso to the fans. Coincidence or not, since then, Tadic popular pieces in the female part of Twente... Now THAT is sports reporting. Aha. still sent from my effing nexus 4, but I have found the setting now dammit.
  19. Nice points gents. I don't disagree with any of this. I really like the new shirt, I love the fact it is a return to stripes. But I was never that upset it was plain red (in fact, our willingness as a club over the years to embrace different combinations of red n white is maybe a bit different and sort of saintly. The sash kit is one of my favourite football shirts ever). I am a sad kit obsessive and collect the things, but you (Dean) are right there are some kits I wouldn't wear out n about. Red and White Stripes is one of those colour combos. - I don't think that is unique to Americans! Although the fact their flag is predominantly red n white does suggest they don't HATE it. By the same token I do not feel the stripes will put a wavering sports fan off and would suggest that maybe, because it is a less common sports shirt in the states, it may even pique ones interest when it seen on the big screens out if four or five live games being show in one sports bar! As The9 says hardly anyone outside the club gives a toss. Why should they! And I agree, I am glad we do. Sports psychology is one thing (red shirts win more - fact) but attracting new fans based purely on kit colour is a load of old nonsense! Which was why I waged in against George. He was making a nonsense point that was easy to dismiss (not counter, dismiss) by mentioning just one team. Can we put this to bed now; or else we might wind up wearing orange and purple kits for all our US televised games n stuff!? Aha. still sent from my effing nexus 4, but I have found the setting now dammit.
  20. Actually, 1 in 10 is about 30m people. That's far too high surely? That would make soccer more popular in the USA than football is in the UK? Whilst pondering this, I did a Google. This is a great little article that looks at some Reuters research. Please understand I am not in disagreement with your reposte; I think this is genuinely interesting. (Although the "Americans don't like red and white stripes" 'argument' is just mental of course!) http://www.ussoccerplayers.com/2014/04/americans-care-soccer.html Aha. still sent from my effing nexus 4, but I have found the setting now dammit.
  21. 78% of statistics are made up on the spot. Or something. Apart from your predicted results of a randomised sample being, well, made up, I think you are probably right that only around 1 in 10 Americans are that aware of Soccer! So what's your point? We were talking about those 10%. (Maybe some on the fringes). How many of those 10, who follow the MLS and the national side, would have heard of Chivas AND seen the national wobbly red shirt? I'll accept your made up figures as your previous guesses seem about right to me. :-)
  22. Oh, but if they DID nick the banner, that would be quite embarrassing, no?
  23. I love the fact you have clearly had to look that up first, and have just skimmed the first article you found on the interwebs. No actual knowledge of your own. I remember another conversation on this here forum where you continually made me ponder; is this fella a troll or just a bit thick? Answer: just a bit thick. Not your fault George, we can't all be blessed with IQs above 70, bless you.
  24. Complete Troll? Or just a bit daft? Chivas USA, for example, who play in red and white stripes, have next to no support? Really? Hmm. Think before you post (pontificate). Or risk being considered a troll.
