  1. Sadly I can't risk it. That's too high a stake on such poor odds. ;-)
  2. Honestly worth reading the book. The chapter that has this list goes on to write about them in detail, the one liners don't do it justice really and they all come from previous 'experts' in transfers. I can't defend all of the points (and neither would or should I - in the book they are dissected not upheld as golden rules). Brilliant book so far. Great shout 00.
  3. Just a lot of rehashes across the interweb this morning. Vlaar (in the negative) Van Dijk (rumour rehash) De Vrij (rumour rehash, us and ManUre) Classie (rumour rehash) Forster (looking good for 9m, rehash) Redmond (claims 3.5m turned down, 6.5m will secure the move) But its 9, on Friday. Who knows what will happen today!?! W00t.
  4. Grace hasn't had her own post yet: And this picture of perfection:
  5. Hi Saint Billy. Depends what version of tapatalk (my tablet and phone are slightly different). But on Android TT. Just go to 'reply' and then press the menu icon (top right). Press Attach picture, chose from your gallery, then press the word 'Image' to upload as.
  6. Kenya have a game on the 3rd Aug. But Victor himself got sent off in the last game, so I don't know, but would guess that is a one match ban and he won't play?
  7. Lynda Carter
  8. Catherine Bach (Daisy Duke)
  9. Can't believe I'm doing requests. But excellent work throughout the thread so far gents. Nothing 'for the ladies' yet, but I might have missed. Diana Rigg
  10. Quite agree. It was late and I just cut n pasted quite randomly. Please feel free to add own pics and links. This should really be available as a 'resource' for all the young 'uns as well as the SOGs.
  11. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?t=51061 60s/70s Totty All the salient points in one place. Hope it helps ?
  12. I have collated all of the important information from the Transfers thread. Raquel Welch Jane Fonda (particularly as Barbarella) Susan George Bridget Bardot Lesley-Anne Down Julie Christie Jenny Agutter Farah Fawcett Brit Ekland Felicity Kendall Nope Jane Seymour Grace Kelly Sally Field Joanna Lumley Wendy Craig Fenella Fielding Ursula Andress Olivia Newton John Madeline Smith (my own crush) Late 70s into the 80s: Kathleen Turner Sigourney Weaver and Gina Davis. Oh, and not forgetting the fabulous Hattie Jacques (iansums likes 'em big) Rachel Stevens got a mention too. Which is always fair. Thank goodness, I have fun out of image uploads per post or something. I can stop now. My wrist hurts.* * from cut n pasting.
  13. I saw this programme once about gospel choirs in the American deep south. They did that England Rugby Song about swings and another one that I think could probably work as a Song For Saints, something about marching in and that. Anyway I'll look it up. Is this an open competition Richmond? Will there be a celebrity panel or public vote?
  14. Madeline Smith. Without a second thought. Oh my, Madeline Smith.
  15. Skate.
  16. Have you just referred to the club crest, which has remained nigh-on unchanged for forty years (new football in 90's, 125th anniversary badge, one season as gold/white) and is the only club crest Southampton FC has ever had, as a "multicoloured puke stain"? That, right there, is outing yourself as a Skate. Utterly and completely, no other explanation.
  17. Fantastically Awful. Not sure if I love it or hate it. Article mentions these efforts too. Which I also quite hate and love. The Beer one especially. http://www.sbnation.com/soccer/2014/7/19/5919149/cd-lugo-beer-octopus-shirts-2014-2015
  18. He Does Things That Only A Spider Can. Hence the potentially steep price tag. In all seriousness, Morgan is MY favourite Saint and has been since the Championship when he just grew massively as a more defensive player but retained a progressive attacking mindset. (I credit Adkins for this, but MS is clearly a 'student of the game' anyway). I get a wee bit too excited with every interception and clever hold off. Worse still, when he makes a ten yard dash forward from the centre circle only to calmly jog back again, I can't help but shout out at anyone who will listen how he has brilliantly created space for the attacking quartet by 'bouncing' the oppositions DM out of position. I am aware this is not normal behaviour.
  19. Just arrived! Looks to be an excellent addition. I read the first edition a while back and was pretty darn impressed, but this looks to be a complete revision really - as it should be with four more years of technology and stats analysis in the game (I.e. a massive amount of data and a cultural shift completed). Adrian - it's funny you should say about 'stating the obvious' as the introduction has an anecdote about exactly that response from Roberto Mancini, who then (gladly) eats his words. Yes, I suspect many of us will 'know' a lot of this already, but its nice to have the facts n figures to support gut feelings and to, sometimes, have your accepted views changed and your eyes opened. There are possibly better football books out there, but not many that reveal in such geekiness too.
  20. Awh Bless! Both you and the fox. ?
  21. Redmond is perfect. Plus Ings. ?
  22. I hope it wasn't a red panda in that ambulance, thorpie?
  23. I also agree with this.
  24. Ooh, a new edition? Perfect holiday reading. I will Amazon Prime it. 7? Is this about beards?
  25. I try not to have a fixed stance on THAT sort of thing. However, if one down-stairs carpet style has a benefit over another, then I would not be adverse to (cautiously) giving it go. If successful, I would of course demand Saints force the entire squad to adopt it.
