...found it! Makes interesting reading. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20793698

There was a great BBC sport article about the transfer league table before and after January - both the top team and the bottom placed team at Christmas spend less, and those immediately below or above spend more. I've described that terribly, sorry, it was a great article honest. Hang on, I'll find it...

Yes. Although some idiot would ruin it by shouting out after 3 minutes. Tch!

Lawrenson 0-2 prediction and comments on new manager
Polaroid Saint replied to Saints Warrior's topic in The Saints
Whether right or wrong, MP has been studying videos and stats from saints for weeks. This does not mean he has been watching YouTube FFS. Saints have one of the most sophisticated systems for recording player stats and comparing to video of any sports team in the world. I would imagine MP is using this data. This use of video/stats is also touted as one of MPs 'specialities'. -
Interesting you choose Man City as an example (and not say Chelsea or Liverpool, which would have been correct). Man City's work with the fans and the community has been exemplary and they are building a fantastic atmosphere up there as well as winning the league. If we were to become the Man City of the south, I would welcome it. In fact, its a great analogy. Look what happen after Hughes (incredibly popular young English manager who seemed too be on the right track)...

The morning after the day before...

Good post. We need to judge for ourselves, not take what posters on TSW think. One poster on here will tell you that NA got the boot because he left out GR for away games and then another will tell you that now NA is gone, RL will be left out of away games. When both instances have been true all season. Often to universal puzzlement. Pwersonally, I very much doubt that NC has ever 'picked the team' in the same way Albert Escher didn't dig the tunnel. It's possibke, for whatever reasons, NC has more faith in MP, so will let him do what he has been employed to do. -

Employ a swarthy young manager who looks good in a tight-knit v-neck jumper? -
The Sheriff of Murphy? Really?

I met NC very briefly in the MC Suite. I asked one question: "What first attracted you to the billionaire Markus Liebherr?" He smiled, although I am pretty sure he didn't get the Mrs Merton reference, and said, "Alfred Escher."

When I got told the news - via a desperate phone call from my best friend - I was in shock. Outraged. Disgusted even. Wondering what the hell was happening. I felt like I was (metaphorically) suddenly 2-0 down and playing lousy. After reading all the negative comments and the odd ray of sense and positivity I now feel like its a 2-2 away draw against the champions of Europe. (Purposely perverse analogy). Football's a funny old game and us fans are fickle. Get behind the (new) manager FFS. Welcome to Southampton Mauricio; I wish you all the best. UTS

Calm down. No need for all this argy-bargy... However, I was slightly taken aback when someone called him a dirty cheat, I presume in reference to the foul on Michael Owen in the world cup? You know, the one when Owen clearly dived?

Apparently he speaks 'Football.'

Actually, yes, that would be better.

Fox can do the job at left back for a few games, but I hope he doesn't have to. I think Adkins is handling the two of them on the left side really well. The fact that Fox was already on the pitch at LM highlights, if it were needed, how badly we need a winger to add depth and options.

Open up the sunbed room and spa for a pre-match pamper. -
Carter USM were, at their peak, easily the greatest live show on the planet. Dont just take my word for it - they won NME 'beat live band' three years in a row (this during the height of Nirvana et Al). I am always blown away by the power the Rolling Stones manage to get out to huge venues. The Prague going a few years ago was the beat - Awesome is the much overused but correct word. Frank Turner has probably the crowds of any currently gigging musician - similar to Mumfords but with less band-wagon jumping ****3rs in the pit. Always an inspiring night out. QOTSA are always amazing live, but I prefer Eagles of Death Metal for the comedy. The best gigs I have ever been too include; Spiritualized, LCD Soundsystem, Blur at both ends of their career (reading 92 and Hyde park 2010), Jonathan Richman in new York was emotional, liberteens in Oxford was proper mental, the Pogues at some festival years ago in a tent with everyone dancing. The Buzzcocks at the wedgewood rooms in the early 90s (or anywhere at anytime in their career to be fair - possibly a contender). Gogol bordello are brilliant to watch, as was Manu Chao with the band. Patrick Wolf is a delight live. Yeah, so many more... Best live band you have never heard of? Klezma Vilainova. Oh yes. I hate watching Muse live. I like the boys, I should like the music, but overall it just comes across like Radiohead directed by Peter Jackson. I understand why that appeals, but not to me, frankly I think it is fake and sh!te. Why they have to headline every other bloody festival for the last ten years is beyond me.

Still five minutes to sunrise in Mexico. So, don't panic; it could still all go off. -
It is NOT offensive to spell the word in this manner; 'Ghey' . If Suso had spelt the word like this he would not have been fined. La.

The Fizzers! Sandhurst Town FC. Brilliant small, town club, great atmosphere and I have the honor of having played for one of their reserve teams in the past. One of the beat nicknames in footy too IMHO. Used to watch Wokingham Town FC regularly as a kid, again, great local support (I was there when the Burger Crew [they stood behind the goal by the tea/burger bar] famously ran onto the pitch en masse and 'stole' an opposition goalie. Hilarious at the time, but I guess it would be frowned upon now.) At the time there was only two or three leagues (and just five miles) between them and Reading. So I learnt to loath Reading FC. A hatred I carry to this day, hurrah. Alas I cannot support Wokingham FC now as they were disbanded and merged with amateur league Embrook. I have had the distinct displeasure of having to play against the new W&E FC over the last few years. Boo. I have a soft spot for Brentford too as my old man supports them, but they are not a second team, and I love it when we beat them (although regularly attended Bees away games at Elmpark many moons ago [see above hatred of Reading])

I said a similar thing to my cousin last week. Half Man Half Biscuit are not under-rated, at least not by 'real music lovers' (the Camra of sounds type) thus is evidenced the fact they get played everyday almost everyday on BBC6music. They are a very important band too though; British indie would not be the same without them. Like Joy Division. Where's there is dark there is light. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2

Good footballing pedigree the Carr family. Can we have pictures of the all players wives, as signed by Pardew and Adkins. Might tell us all we need to know. *runs for cover*

Saints set to move for Brad Friedel?
Polaroid Saint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
I thought this to myself when he was left out on Saturday. I guess a mirror reporter thought so too. That's enough to put it in the paper (journalistic integrity being so high these days), but I doubt it is anywhere near true. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
