I see those now in charge have been making changes...
-
Nope, maybe if he tried selling the big issue as well?
-
and realistically, without new money, it is the only thing they can do. --- and also realistically, its never going to be enough.

The moves seem to be an initiative by the convicted fraudster Daniel Azougy and the motive for such a move is unclear (possibly because you are skint!?). According to Storrie, Begovic would not be allowed to join Spurs even if he didn't actually play for them. The move comes as another source involved in the attempted takeover of the club expressed his frustration at not being able to gain access to the clubs books in order to facilitate a last-ditch rescue bid. (you can get at them but you might need a few thousand iranian students to put them back together)

I think that the most unbelievable bit in that they managed to get a spokesperson to admit something....
-
Someone obviously realised it was PR disaster so they have obviously paid up and their website is back up again now.

I think the fault lies in part with whoever came up with the PL rules for no realising this situation would arise. It has all the signs of lawyers threatening the PL that if they didn't obey the letter of their rules they would be sued and they had no backbone to obey the spirit of the law.
-
Given the way that Portpin where pompey got their short term loan from were threatening to sue the PL to get at THEIR £7M in tv money I would guess it went to them to try to keep them quiet for a bit longer...
-
Its getting a bit like shooting fish in a barrel at the moment isn't it? According to a poster on one of the pompey boards.. I have just been told that it's going to get a little bit worse as Powergen are overdue a £257,000 electric bill.

Looks like no money for nugent then either.. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=732583&cc=5739&cc=5901 "We have exercised our option to extend his loan through for the rest of the season," Burnley manager Brian Laws told the club's official website. "We are now just waiting for Portsmouth to get back to us to get it clarified and sorted for the weekend. We are just waiting for their reply and paperwork and I am assuming that's going to go ahead." I am sure sorting out Nugents paperwork will be top of their pile of things to do at the moment. But don't hold your breath Brian!

Dreaming I think as no automatic link I believe. However the list of creditors could go up a bit more, lucky for then they have such a small squad.
-
In other breaking news all transfer activity as pompey has been halted after their brown paper envelope suppliers removed all their stock from Fratton park due to non-payment.
-
Think it must be an old official site? Registered in 1997 so definitely not a 'new' site. http://www.track-ip.com/whois/pompeyfc.co.uk

So which is going to happen first? Pompey implosion or this thread reaching 10,000 posts?
-
Interesting it confirms two other parties joined in the winding up order. I assume this means that HMRC + the two others would need to be paid before it was withdrawn?
-
To be fair it hasn't changed how informative it is.

Obviously like buses.

Think I will wait for one of the android based equivalents that will almost certainly do more functionally including, most likely, such luxuries as usb sockets and removable batteries. Also unconvinced about it being a ebook reader. I thought the hype around e-paper was that it avoided the eye strain of looking at backlit lcd over a long period? Personally, as I have a fair number of computer books in PDF format and often having to download and read other documents I think the tablet shaped thing that I am most likely to buy will be the Asus DR950 (http://www.engadget.com/2010/01/18/asus-dr-950-9-inch-touchscreen-e-reader-brings-text-to-speech-an/) which looks like just the right size for what I need. --- Forgot to say that the one advantage of the ipad is you can probably do a great updated Dom Joly impersonation by wandering around with pressing it to your ear and shouting 'IM ON MY IPHONE'.

Its all a bit odd at the moment isn't it. A radio report that they have appealled again the VAT ruling but then no confirmation anywhere else. A TV report that they have been hit with a second winding up order and again no confirmation elsewhere. Both are news worthy enough stories relating to a premiership (at the moment anyway) club that you would think that someone is the print/online media outlet would have run the story(s) but not a whisper on either. On top of that the 'new's coming out of FP that they have allegedly one group interested in buying them has not set the media alight. So far really one claim about gadaffi followed by a club denial.
-
Has anyone come across confirmation that they have appealed the VAT ruling as nothing appearing online as far as I can see. Would have thought it would have been reported elsewhere than just on solent?
-
Will not take long if all the books have all been shreddied!!
-
So assuming they have appealed what sort of time line are we talking about.. days, weeks, months or years?
-
One would guess it was slightly iffy as if it was water tight I would have thought some other clubs would have used it to avoid paying sell on clauses? Or maybe they have?
-
Strange if they left it to the last minute to appeal. You might almost begin to think they were doing it as a time wasting manoeuvre rather than with an eye to winning the appeal.

If John PFC Westwood tried organising a 'save our pompey' game with a team of invited campanologists taking on a team of caravaners how many tickets do you think he would be able to sell?
