  1. Another player possibly leaving pompey without them getting any money http://www.eatsleepsport.com/birmingham-city/pompey-striker-eyed-1012222.html Birmingham are interested in Portsmouth striker Aruna Dindane with his loan spell from Lens in doubt due to the club's cash problems. The Ivory Coast forward has scored four goals in 12 games and Pompey had been given a option to sign him permanently for £4m when the deal was originally done in August. It's understood his parent club have now asked FIFA to cancel his stay at Fratton Park and that could open the door to the Blues.
  2. Even if they get £15M for two players and the £2M from PL its not going to last long is it? HMRC will definitely have to be paid. Portapin were obviously owed the £7M TV money and don't appear to be scared of litigation. Players will have to be paid. and that's before Gady £9M, etc, etc, etc.
  3. And how long would due dilligence take, or are they just going to skip that stage cos they don't need to many documents to tell them that pompey are in the poop?
  4. So any news on the 'hopefully' being lifted transfer embargo actually being lifted today? I guess as 'hopeful' is less than 'certain' which in PFC speak is equal to 'no chance' that there is no need to maintain my inhalation?
  5. I do like their arguments that obviously they will be taken over as the premiership is a licence to print money whilst ignoring the fact that it appears they are actually a licence to destroy money. They try to pointing out that who ever would buy them would get £35M in TV money whilst forgetting the costs of trying to remain competitive will tend to easily eat that money up as they themselves have proved.
  6. Ever decreasing numbers?? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/leagues/premierleague/portsmouth/7067277/Portsmouth-players-face-waiting-game-over-pay-following-defeat-of-Sunderland-in-FA-Cup.html Interesting that the telegraph claims it was only 300 on the march. Also Friday's pay-day does look like another date for the packed 'what happens next' diary.
  7. Interesting that portapotty (or who ever it was they have got the loan from) are thinking of suing the PL for the £7M TV money which means even has pompey got it it would have gone straight to them. Actually I would guess they have a good case for the £2M not paid out yet.
  8. Not for much longer. Whole system going digital (hence the turn off of analog) and new cards arriving soon will mean all dodgy boxes will stop working.
  9. I am 98% sure it was a joke but with the shifting sands of reality at the moment who can tell.
  10. I was watching the late show with Jon Stewart the other day and they showed a clip of some senile American preacher saying people should not donate to help the people in Haiti as in the distant past they had apparently made a pact with the devil and since then had only had bad luck (had **** ripped out of him by said Mr Stewart). Anyway I was thinking that the same appears to apply to pompey. Pact with the devil to win the cup and then bad luck all the way. Main difference is I have donated to help the people in Haiti...
  11. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11674_5879191,00.html --- edit --- damn you dubai phil...
  12. Is there a certain amount of conflict here? You claim to be passionate fans but at your greatest hour of need you are expecting only a few hundred to turn up?
  13. Ah, I see, all that is needed for the current people in charge to step aside. What a wonderfully simple plan! What could possibly go wrong?
  14. I believe the monthly wage bill for all staff, including the all important tax, is alleged to be somewhere in the region of £3M?
  15. More likely 300 for the reading, 1,499,700 for the image rights and 1,500,000 'that if you could stuff in a brown envelope and hand it back in a car park I would be grateful'.
  16. Though I think a point in pompeys favour(!) is that unlike other clubs they owe so much to other creditors such as gadyboy than HMRC that HMRC possibly have less of a say. That may be one of the reasons why someone is trying to get the tax bill down as the less they are owed the less likely that HMRC can block a CVA (I think??)
  17. It does start to sound like an episode of Hustle. Expect someone to visit Al Faraj's home to find it stripped clean...
  18. Have they all legged it??? http://www.whydelilah.co.uk/news/22_Jan_2010/jamestalksonice+.html The deal was ready to be pushed through - possibly in time for James to be included against Arsenal on Sunday - but Portsmouth were unable to locate a club owner in time to sanction the loan transfer. ... “It seems they have been unable to track down one of their owners to get approval for the deal.” Asked how he would describe having to deal with Portsmouth in their current predicament, he replied: “Impossible.”
  19. As an aside that's a fairly pointless survey statistically wise. They claim to have surveyed 3000 families across the country. which by my reckoning based on populations they must have asked about 9 or 10 families in both Portsmouth and Southampton. Now if they had surveyed 3000 families in each location it might be worth taking note of but at under a dozen it's just pointless.
  20. More bad news (surely not!) for pompey... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1245157/Portsmouth-misfit-David-Nugent-refuses-sold-Burnley.html They agreed a deal to sell Nugent to Burnley for £3.5M but Nugent only wants to stay on loan till the end of the season.
  21. The only big pay-offs coming out of pompey at the moment are the joke punchlines.
  22. Its pronounced LAWYER
  23. On the 10th, possible the 11th but no later than the 12th ... of never.
  24. As it would cover events from Milan's tenure onwards I will wait for the film version.. "Four owners and a liquidation"
  25. Maybe they need it rephrased in a way they would understand... "I have a nice house and a £500,000 mortgage that I always make the payments for. You have a derelict caravan on which you owe £500 but don't have the money to pay it. Who is going to be the one who ends up on the street?"
