  1. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/leagues/premierleague/portsmouth/7038291/Portsmouth-face-further-challenge-as-Udinese-complain-to-Court-of-Arbitration-for-Sport.html Portsmouth face further challenge as Udinese complain to Court of Arbitration for Sport Portsmouth's precarious financial position faces a further challenge after Udinese lodged a formal complaint with the Court of Arbitration for Sport to try to retrieve up to £4 million in outstanding fees they are owed for the transfer of Sulley Muntari. so, no chance of the embargo being lifted till they sort that out.
  2. Yes, the laughable respect argument is up there with... "So we are a club that.. Has been listed as possession of arms dealer, Spent well beyond our means, Have several current and ex staff charged with tax evasion, Can't pay our staff or creditors, In danger of being wound up by HMRC, Are millions in debt with little obvious income. Are involved with a number of dodgy property deals and dealers. And then on top of that people treat us like the black sheep of the family!!
  3. Probably worth borrowing another battery and/or also using the usb connection to see if either of those affect the charging.
  4. How to further decrease one's productivity at work.. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/8470526.stm Internet search giant Google has announced it will stream all Indian Premier League cricket matches live via its YouTube video-sharing website. Under the terms of the agreement, Google will have exclusive online rights over the contents for two years.
  5. Personally I was just qualifying your 'doubtful' past 'very doubtful' and onto somewhere in the vicinity of 'as likely as being simultaneously struck by lightning and a meteorite... whilst in a cave'.
  6. I would expect one of the main things scaring away anyone looking to buy PFC is the uncertainty concerning the various court cases for defrauding the public purse. If I was a very rich arab say, on the look out for a status symbol to prove how much money I would waste, I might look at PFC. Now with a big lump sum I could pay all the bills, buy back all the bits currently mortgaged and get some mercenary players in to stave of relegation. But, I would then have to look what happened to Luton and think that even with all that my new toy could end up in the Championship or below and that there would be little my money could do about it.
  7. What is the interaction between the PL, FL and FA in cases of serious misconduct? In Italy that some teams where put down more that one division I believe because of dodgy dealing but would it be possible in this country for a team to be put down from the PL into league 1 for example? Just that it would be funny if... Pompey were punished for their transgressions by being relegated directly to League 1. To keep the numbers up an extra team was then promoted from league 1 to where pompey would have been in the championship. That that team was us.
  8. Would like to know what they have offered some of these foreign clubs to get them to postpone the payments they are due. If I was in change of Lens and knew there was £2M I could possibly get from the PL now towards what I was owed it would have to take a very persuasive argument to get me to postpone the payments given that as things are going at the moment I might never see any of it.
  9. plus http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/newsextra/Gaydamak-39expects39-his-cash-from.5996907.jp Former Pompey owner Sacha Gaydamak still 'fully expects' the club to pay him £9m by the end of January.
  10. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/newshome/Supporters-vow-We-will-take.5996964.jp That plan includes a worst-case scenario in which we either buy it out of administration, or at the absolute worst, to start a new team here in place of the old one. He explained: 'We only got confirmation as a Trust early this month. We are going to be run as a Mutual Trust, meaning every member has one share, and that one share equals one vote. But to do so, we have to set up a bank account, which we're in the process of doing. "So... You want to take out a bank account with us as you may want to buy PFC? I think I may have to talk to my manager first...."
  11. What I find more amazing that they could get away with and that is that his bonuses was paid direct to this trust fund as well.
  12. Has oil been found under an random field owned by the club?
  13. More likely to be in a brown paper envelope?
  14. and hopefully no ijjut with a bell either!!
  15. Should pompey go into liquidation I would guess that something like Wimbledon AFC would arise soon after and with a similar level of core support could rise up through the leagues to the point of being our main rival again. So more likely a hiatus in the rivalry than its end I would suspect.
  16. Think they will only refuse a right to appeal if its completely obvious they would not win. Even if the judge thinks they have a very small chance of winning an appeal he would still allow them the option. Any appeal is more likely to be a time wasting effort to delay the tax bill than done with any real optimism they would succeed.
  17. I think it may come down to how much they can make by selling players in the next couple of weeks. A few good sales and they could probably pay HMRC and make their other debts that are due (depending if gady junior pushes for his payment) but effectively leaving them with nothing in the locker in terms of assets but the football franchise, for lack of a better term, and that's not really something you can get a loan against.
  18. Its to do with there being less teams in the premiership so its similar in terms of points per game to the -10 in the FL.
  19. I think we will need a 'pompey in court' sub forum with a separate thread for each court case.
  20. It means the judge agreed with how much tax they will need to pay so they will have to pay by the 10th feb or be wound up.
  21. Assuming they do go into administration I reckon its going to be one hell of a job sorting out who owns what and who paid who etc to the point where they can sensible come out of administration. Its reminicent of a shop near where I live where it appeared one day on watchdog as being the centre of some travel scam. The people cleared out overnight but the place was empty for years afterwards, one would guess because of the contractual problem they left behind in terms of ownership etc. Anyone who thinks they will go into administration, pay 5p in the pound and be back up and running within days is going to disappointed I feel.
  22. More like the middle of the end.
  23. I was referring to the court case announcement, allegedly to be made at 1pm
  24. So the bells have tolled one. Where's this announcement then??? (Ah, I think my PC must be 4 minutes fast...)
  25. Annoying, I only have one meeting this week and its now...
