But the PL will just say "Oh its because they were relegated" or similar. Plus they may be hoping that the longer pompey survive that finally they do discover someone with money and its cleared up without their dirty laundry being displayed in public.

Back to todays support comedy act of Milan. I notice here: http://www.accountancyage.com/accountancyage/news/2255342/spurs-manager-faces-tax-charges That saggychops was identified as the person (or one of them at least) that recieved money via an offshore payment. So if they are taking both them to court they must be fairly sure of their evidence.
-
It's the twisted logic of trying to keep a level playing field by allowing them to spend money they don't have for the whole season! Actually they will obviously try to get pompey to complete the season if they can as otherwise it opens up another large can of worms in terms of what to do about their results if they are wound up mid season.
-
Depends if you thing the PL are going to grow some or try to sweep it under the table and hope its not their problem when it goes pop. You would hope the former but past experience shows it will probably be the latter.
-
My bet it will say something like: "Though Portsmouth FC have been unable to clear their football debts to allow the transfer embargo to be raised the management of the club assure us that money to pay the remaining debts will arrive soon and that they will be able to forfil their fixtures for the remainder of the season"
-
Would be surprised if the general gist is not leaked before then.
-
I think we need to wait till 5 at the moment to see what colour the smoke is that will emit from PL headquarters. If they can't get the embargo lifted and don't get any of the TV money then what ever they say to try to be positive they might as well put the 'closing down, everything must go' signs up.

The hacks at the portsmouth news have, after hours slaving over hot calculators, realised that if you take 10 million off 7 million you do not get 2 million, no matter what the club says. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/frattonlatest/Premier-League-will-not-lift.5975007.jp

Please let the police be heading off to spuds as well as we speak....

I assume pompey are worried that if they agree to sell him to lens that lens will only pay the remainder after they take out what is owed to them? http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=724113&cc=5739 "Lens have made a €10 million bid for Portsmouth's Younes Kaboul, although have had their move for the defender rejected."
-
Another sounds good on paper but not so good once you start thinking about it policy IMO. For example who decides how drunk have to be etc to pay? Also the first steps towards the sort of health economy they have in the states where they check if you can pay before doing more than stabilise your condition. Can you imagine what the furore will be like the first time someone dies from their injuries because they could not afford to pay this surcharge for treatment?

Mean while back in the real world not inhabited by the board of PFC... http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/jan/11/aruna-dindane-portsmouth-lens Aruna Dindane may have played his last game for Portsmouth after Lens, who loaned him to Fratton Park last August, began instigating moves to recall him. The French club fear the Premier League strugglers are unable to pay the prearranged price to make the transfer definitive and have begun sounding out other clubs about a move. Lens say Portsmouth promised to pay them £4m and take Dindane on a full contract after the striker's 11th appearance for them. The terms of the agreement were renegotiated to give Portsmouth some breathing space on the eve of Dindane's 11th match – the 2-0 Premier League win over Burnley – but, with the south coast club seemingly no closer to finding the fee, Lens have explored a contingency plan. They could demand Dindane's return this month so that they might sell him to a club with the funds to pay them. and to counter point the we will have 3 million left from the TV money honest in the other story... The Premier League, however, is poised to divert £7m, which is Portsmouth's next tranche of television money, directly to the club's creditors, who are awaiting instalments on transfer fees. Portsmouth owe a total of £10m and their creditors include Chelsea over Glen Johnson; Tottenham (Younes Kaboul); Udinese (Sulley Muntari) and Rennes (John Utaka) not to mention Lens (Belhadj and Dindane). The league must decide how best to divide the £7m, with Lens fearing that it will prioritise the English creditors. If the PL only pay off the english clubs, let pfc keep 2 to 3 million and lift the embargo I can see Lens being a tad annoyed..

A bit odd. Other places such as here: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/leagues/premierleague/portsmouth/6937974/Portsmouths-financial-crisis-10-questions-about-the-problems-at-Fratton-Park.html say Yet: So instead of 7 million paying off the english clubs we are to accept that 4 or 5 million will clear all their current immediate debts. Also he says: But the TV money was only going to go to the english clubs so have they paid the money to lens plus some sell on fee's they owe to other foreign clubs. Unless some additional money has been paid to their debtors without being announced I can't see how their figures add up? Finally why go to the PL today when tomorrow, if they are so confident they will win the VAT case against HMRC they could go in with a much stronger hand. ---- plus.. why much around with arguments about TV money and 2 or 3 million surplus when allegedly some Israelis are lending them £40 million? If it was true then just waving that in front of the PL would get the ban lifted double pronto.

Well apparently you better raise the swollen area up, compress it and put come ice on it.

Obviously the long term effects are not totally consistent as, of those, I only have the breast fixation.

Has similar dislocation in my youth, pushing your knee cap round from the side was rather gruesome!. All they could recommend to me at the time was to try to build the muscles up. Not that I really did but luckily it stopped happening with age.
-
Actually I think its 8/9 million due at the end of this month and the rest at some other date.
-
As the next big date for pompey is Wednesday with their appeal again their VAT bill does anyone know how likely they are to win it? Also it says here: http://www.independent.ie/sport/soccer/portsmouth-must-pay-taxman-or-face-court-1994711.html Its said somewhere that they are disputing 7.5 million in VAT, that the winding up order talks of 3 million owed, and that if they win they could get 0.5 million back. My assumption is that of that 7.5 million VAT they have paid 0.5 million and deposited security to the value of 4 million so that this leaving the 3 million outstanding. If they win they get 0.5 million back and their security but if they lose then they not only will have to pay 3 million but also lose the 4 million in security? Or is that completely wrong?
-
At least if pompey want to try and stop it being broadcast they will not have to spend extra to get an expensive lawyer.
-
Must say some of them have the ring of astroturfing... "I was going to protest but now I have see the light.. don't do it people" etc.
-
On a related note I think everyone missed the important person hiding in that photo on that page. Here is the same picture digitally enhanced. Is this their new owner who tries very hard to stay hidden whenever possible.....
-
So what is the general opinion about why Mark Jacob came out over the weekend with his media blitz claiming all is well? A) He was trying to stop the fans protesting. B) He was trying to con other clubs into paying more for players by trying to convince them they don't need to sell. C) All is actually well, they have enough funding, etc. or D?

What has happened to good old fashioned investigative journalism in this country? Surely there is a juicy story here for someone with the contacts to do some serious digging.

600 ft he should be fine as the longer the bungee the slower the deceleration. When I did my helibungy it was a lot harder to even notice the bouncing.

Done two, one from a tower thing near Cairns and one from a helecopter just outside Queenstown. Both events to be enjoyed more after the occasion than during!
