  1. Why should chainrai be interested in overturning the 10 point penalty? If he is talking to the FL about anything it will be about how much debt he can roll over into the new company and the value of FP.
  2. It does appear that things have entered one of those periods of quiet purgatory. I am amazed that the trust are not calling in the £900 remainder, or at least contacting people and saying "We really need to know if you do intend to come up with the remaining £900?". As for their current recruitment splurge I wonder if one or more of the "High Net Worth" individuals have made it clear they would only take part if there was a reasonable chance of the club not being relegated to division 2?
  3. He's not happy.
  4. As others have said we are currently without the threads MVP (Most Volume Poster). anyway back to plucky pompey with no real mention of how they got there they are: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2191221/Portsmouths-summer-uncertainty-tough-Michael-Appleton.html?ito=feeds-newsxml Poor things. Having to travel in standard coaches. Oh the mental suffering.
  5. Don't know about beacon, bonfire of the vanities is more like it.
  6. I think it was the media that jumped the gun showing the 10 point deduction not the FL.
  7. Remember they now have a significant number of players from when they lost to Gibraltar.
  8. They have not changed their stance. Certain people have tried to spin the 'no 10 points at start of season' as something positive but all it means is they should really have been out of admin by now and had their punishment. Birch may claim publicly that he will appeal the 10 points but that just playing to the gallery.
  9. Another from the annuls of 'you could not make it up', from the BBC rolling news page...
  10. might be some discussion on things like sell on fee's and the like as both clubs would have to agree to the same percentage, etc.
  11. Phew! I thought they might have been signing the whole Gibraltar team.
  12. Its not special dispensation its standard rules. You get a points penalty when you enter admin (tick) and you can get a penalty (the -10 points) when you exit admin. Its just trying to dress up standard rules.
  13. Does the land registry actually contain an estimate of the value of properties or just the value it was last sold for? I thought in the case of houses it was the latter?
  14. As I have said before I would not be surprised if one or more of their high net worth individuals had agreed to underwrite the difference between what they get and what they need.
  15. Carefully failing to point out that 2.75 million is also a fraction of what he is owed. Also can the court actually force him to accept the deal? Sounds unlikely to me.
  16. It would be interesting to know in the players compromise agreements how far the commitment to pay them from the parachute payments goes. i.e. is it just an agreement between the club and the player or is there explicit agreement from the premier league as well? If the latter then if pompey do go pop I would guess the players would have a stronger case to the remaining parachute payments than before their agreements, even though as football creditors they probably would have been high in the queue?
  17. If the trust is the only answer someone is obviously asking the wrong question.
  18. Now that the trust bid is centre stage hopefully some journo will take a look at their bid and, taking into account the money committed to paying compromise agreements and the difficulty in quickly (or feasibly) renegotiating them, will come to the same conclusion as we have on here. That being it has more holes in it than a sign in texas saying "Shoot me".
  19. Don't limit it to league one, these are players no any other semi-professional club or above appear to want.
  20. Still take some issue with the term unemployed as most people would take it to refer to someones overall employment position not a specific career. If I called David Cameron an unemployed director I would get funny looks so I can't see how a coach working fulltime fits with the term unemployed.
  21. So that don't take into account the fact that he was not actually 'unemployed'?
  22. Don't forget their parking spot, sandwich and a cup of tea corporate deals. (I wonder if those are as tightly ringfenced as the season ticket money??).
  23. Got my toast pun in...
  24. I assume the players who have left are now going to be back to being villains again? Think it was assumed that they had gone for minimal compensation but now it appears they took most of the parachute payments with them. So we have... Refused to leave: Heroes Refused to leave: Villains Left: Heroes Left: Villains
