  1. Again, as a public service announcement, anyone considering going sim only and ordering online should definitely consider signing up for quidco and buying through their site. So for example at the moment the 3 essential sim 200 12 month deal is 6.90 a month. Total for the year: 82.80. Cash back on that via quidco is 41.67, just over half what you pay for the year (if you are new to quidco they take the first 5 pounds as your fee for the whole year).
  2. Well given their horse I am not surprised....
  3. Sorry, must have misremembered.
  4. If you go to the play website it is there under the 25p apps. I don't know if it prefilters for apps that will run on your device(s) or not? If it is there and you click on buy it should ask you for the initial device to install it on (assuming you are logged in at this point). If it does not show your desire then you are out of luck. You can still buy it even if you don't currently have a device to install it on and the you will have it there to install if you upgrade to a compatible device.
  5. I wonder how many "Why did the FL not let chainrai take over, its an outrage" posts there will be if the FL stop chinny and Trev decided the trust bid is not enough and liquidates them?
  6. Apps changed. Currently has Fifa 12 for 25p
  7. and it will be the bestest party with the bestest guests in the world ™.
  8. Sure Birch must be watching this thread and saying "I will wait till the PTS thread gets over page 1500 and 75,000 posts before I announce anything, that will show them!"
  9. On google play now. Various apps down to 25p (well worth it to get rid of the adverts in angry birds space for starters). Plus a number of books 99p and other thing appearing during the week apparently. I think the apps change daily so worth checking back. https://play.google.com/store http://officialandroid.blogspot.co.uk/2012/09/google-play-hits-25-billion-downloads.html
  10. Especially with all the crossings out.
  11. Bit confused (as ever). Chainrai currently claims £14 million debt. FL say he cannot carry more than £5 million (or so) into a new club post admin. Chainrai's statement goes on about 'partial debt to equity' so does that mean he would say end up with a debt of £5 million and shares in the new club to the value of £9 million? If so as he would own the club outright does it matter what value the shares would be?
  12. Don't think there is much interpretation to be had really. Either he was a director each time or he was not. Attempted straw clutching I think.
  13. Looks feasible to do. I assume it would have to be a standalone app rather than integrate with the george windows version? If it was intended that the information could be viewed and edited from a normal PC as well then it would need to probably have to have a matching cloud service. Then there is the problem of cost as given the limited number of possible users it could not really be a 99p app so would probably need to produce a free version limited in some way and a higher priced normal version. I will have a think and maybe look at it once I have finished my jury duty this week (hopefully!).
  14. I see in an attempt to help users settle down with their new phone some are arriving prescratched to save the user having to damage them themselves. http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-57518019-1/iphone-5-say-hello-to-scuffgate/?part=rss&subj=crave&tag=title&utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+cnet%2FpRza+%28Crave%29
  15. I have written a few android apps.
  16. Phew. Two weekends away with a week of jury duty inbetween and finally found the time to catch up on the thread.. The one thing I will say w.r.t. PES's post earlier about the possible PR plants is that though only a few people were proven to be plants in our episode it did give rise to something of a witch-hunt at the time where anyone who had only recently joined and started posting was condemned to be burnt at the stake, or something like that. So if you actually find they are PR plants it may turn out worse than just thinking they might be. [My avatar was created at the time as a bit of a joke on the plants and one day I might get round to using a new one]
  17. Hope you know your way back from the shop.

  19. Actually the map situation could get interesting. Most 'experts' saying google will release a map app soon as they need the advertising and the data the phones provide on position but then again the longer the maps on the iphone/ipad is seen to be worse than that on android then it could swing some prospective buyers towards android? I would not be surprised of google don't hurry out their map app to profit from the bad press the apple app is getting. Also I full expect another samsung advert very soon ripping the **** out of the failings of the current apple mapping app compared to google maps on android.

  21. Hope they don't have to take off from an apple map runway....
  22. Yes it is, which as I say, makes me wonder what strange manipulations they are doing on it so that it ends up the way it does in their new maps app.
  23. The app is in its infancy so why release it from the nursery so soon? To my mind it appears it has been rushed out 'ready or not' on orders from 'on high' and also I would guess that development of it must have started a lot later than other features in iOS 6. The thing that amazes me is what on earth are they doing to the Tom-tom data as I am sure they have stratford-upon-avon in their database so what processing are apple doing such that it goes missing?
  24. You mean like the traffic info based on android devices that has been in google maps for ages?
  25. The opinion appears to be its style over substance in that it looks nice but does not have as much knowledge of points of interests. So for example of google maps if you ask for restaurants nearby a lot more will come up that on apple maps. Thing is apple have bought it the roads and the route planning but in terms of the depth of geographical information on businesses etc there is little available to buy that matches google.
