Which ever way you cut it the date of the 9th June (handily 1 week after the league meeting) is a herd of bullocks as far as I can see.
-
Classically Hunt managed to further bury himself under friendly fire from another Tory MP. If he didn't leak it there should be no reason not to deny it.
-
See that article still claiming the transfer window opens on the 9th June whereas other places say mid May for transfers within the same association and 1st July otherwise? Are they getting ready to try and blame the transfer window not being open for their demise?
-
Unless the inquiry specifically asked for these email in the Murdoch evidence it does have the appearance that cHunt is being used as an example for other politicians who have something to hide (i.e. most of them) where Murdoch knows what it is (a fair number of them). As to collusion its possibly too obvious. News international wanted the BBC weakened, Ofcom weakened and to be able to take over the remainder of BSB. The first two have happened and the third would have done if not for the hacking millie dowler's phone story.

Technically the trust is still around £100,000, some or all of which could be withdrawn at any moment, and with no guarantee on the remaining 900,000 being provided if asked for.
-
I guess it depends on how firm the commitment was. Knowing pompey it was probably them saying "We promise to try, honest" whilst crossing their fingers behind their back so they can claim the promise does not count!
-
Either the old debt goes back to its original level and they will probably offer a CVA of something like 0.002p in the pound, or it stays at the reduced level and the CVA offer would be around 0.005p in the pound. Either way the debt would be drastically shrunk as the return they are likely to offer on the CVA will be pitiful.

You have to assume any takeover would have to be completed and the new owners passed the directors and owners test well before then?
-
I think he is a bit off target there...
-
Can someone explain to me how it is easier to "clear the decks" if they are in division 1 compared to the championship? Same players, same contracts. Is it just there is more chance of embarrassing the high earners into leaving in division 1?
-
Ah well now they know where they will be playing next season I assume we will hear about the take over tomorrow. Won't we?!
-
Well I hope pompey have enough money for some paint and brushes so they can make some signs saying "Do not rip up your seat or trash the stadium" http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/law-and-order/fan-blames-a-lack-of-signs-at-fratton-for-pitch-invasion-1-3760569

Well they will not be getting the solidarity part as they are still getting parachute payments. Is the prize money different to the 200,000 a month as 12 x 200,000 = 2.4 million?
-
Think they have missed an opportunity there really. Should be charging them a fiver to allow them to take there own seat. After all it brings in more money and reduces the load on the lorries that will be leaving the site when it is cleared.
-
Theory is that they have already paid a considerable amount for him and that that money would help pompey see out the season and maintain the 6 points they got of pompey is entirely coincidental. I don't think there is any reliable publicly information available to say how much pompey have received as an 'advance' for his purchase and how much would be owed once the window opens again and he can be legally transferred. The really funny bit is that we could end up with the situation where the hammers not only did not need to buy him to save the points but also if he is still contracted to pompey when they are liquidated then he could well be a free agent anyway?
-
The understand is, I think, that they have agreed to (and one assumes already paid at least some of the price) buy him at the end of this season so one would assume he would stay with the Hammers.
-
Actually one interesting question. Assuming we do win tomorrow would the disappearance with one game to go of all the points won off pompey by other teams make any difference to who is relegated or in the play offs?
-
I am sure you are right. Just remembering seeing a quote from birch that could have been read as a lump sum at the end but it was probably his way of phrasing it. Would not be surprised if there is not some clause the contract with west ham that says they have to pay back the money if they don't finish the season.
-
I believe TB said they will get something like 800k from the league if they complete their fixtures. If once they get that there is no sign of a realistic takeover then yes liquidation is a definite possibility. I guess the question is how 'last minute' can a take over be? If they have a definite date (i.e. the FL meeting) where something must be in place are their definite dates before then by which an agreement has to have reached certain stages or can they be saved by someone running up minutes before the meeting waving a tenner?

Well managed to survive our trip down to the premiere. Due, I suspect to lots of interviews and autographing by the stars, it did start about 30 minutes after the "seated by" time so we did not get home till gone midnight. Did not get to meet any of the stars but we did have to walk down the red carpet section which was a bit overwhelming. Film being shown on all their screens at the same time so we were in one of the smaller hoi polloi screenings. Both my son and I enjoyed it though and he is very taken with his pair of Iron Man 3D glasses!
-
Right, I'm off to catch the train with super hyped up son in tow. I just hope we can get seats on the train back.
-
Ta. I shall put my captain america costume away then.
-
Not sure if there will be a long exposition from Robery Downey Jr on the emotional conflict he was trying to get over in his portrayal of iron man for this one. No party after for us I fear, even if one was on offer, which I don't think it is.
-
oh and I assume the general hoi polloi (i.e. us) at these things do not have to dress up smart do we?
