No, No, No. You are sinking to their level. Just imaging the level of confusion and mixed emotions if we saved them? They would be scarred for life.
-
Given that: a) We would not be in the same league as them the following season b) Even staying in the championship may not stop them going into liquidation. I think that in that situation we should play to win. No better way to show how large the difference is between the clubs. Though ideally the last day scenario would be for Coventry to lose and them to win for them to stay up and that we completed our part but they failed to win.

I guess NA's problem with picking a team is to try and guess if Doncaster are coming in search of 3 points or 1. If 3 then he can play Chung with his speed to catch them on the counter. I am not sure however how useful he is when a team decide to come and try and park the bus and hold out for a draw.

I am a bit bemused by the logic for reducing the 50% tax band. It's going because its claimed it did not bring in as much as expected, the reason given is that many people subject to the tax were paid early before it came in. However surely that logic only applies to the first year? If it stayed in place then that method of avoiding it would not be available?

Things will become a lot clearer after the WH/Reading match (well it will make the calculations easier anyway!).
-
Something like the 'mind the gap' thread. Aim is to update it after every relevant match. Current Saints points: 85 Current possible maximum for West Ham: 80 + 3 * 2 = 86 Points needed to guarantee promotion: 2 (1 + 86 - 85 ) (in reality our goal difference is probably worth another point but that advantage has been going down so we should not be counting on)

One would assume they would be subject to the same sort of "spirit of the rules" logic that got us a points deduction.
-
So is it the 1st of April when the first CVA payment is due? Though at the moment it appears they have no intention of paying they have not yet missed a payment and it could well be that that would trigger another points penalty.
-
Do the transfer rules allow for a selling club to: A) Insist on the move becoming permanent at the end of the season B) Effectively taking a down payment on the purchase by way of larger than would be expected loan fee's It looks at the moment that these are sales with payment in installments (some now, the rest at the end of the season once the transfer window opens again) rather than loans and if it is allowed what's the point of closing the transfer window before the loan window?
-
Not so sure. I suspect the amount it will cost to get to the point where they can claim their last parachute payment is not going to be that much smaller than the remaining payments. Remember the players are defering wages which could easily make them football creditors(?) and their defered wages may well then come out of the payments before they go to the club.

After the limited success of their previous attempts to increase attendance pompey reveal a new initiative to boost numbers: Come to the pompey match or the kitten gets it

I think the term he needs is "through" no "into"
-
Though it would be good to see the same point in time from 90 degrees to this shot as it not clear his hand is touching the ball or is just behind it.
-
Which could go down to 22 if pompey go pop (Think that may be the only point in favour of them lasting the season).
-
Think you might have missed someone, can't think who??
-
As I remember it the great escape only ended well for about 3 people who actually managed to get to safety. How many have left on loans recently?
-
Meanwhile back at the slow death.... Was it not several days ago that the mythical bid was supposed to be going in from their rock god supporter? No news on that I assume?

I thought this was another tweet about the pompey match: Saints FC The Comedy Club Comes To Southampton FC: http://www.halo-ce.co.uk/News/tabid/99/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/22/The-Comedy-Club-comes-to-Southampton.aspx #saintsfc

Think you will find that its £36,000 a game and not sitting on the bench, unless BFS changes his policy on subs.
-
Unfortunately not I believe, unless the FL change their rules again. They went into admin before the deadline date so the points only come off this season. However there are other things, such as failing to pay the CVA, that might also result in a points penalty and its possible those might be applied next season if they still exist at that point.

I assume the author of that article would be quite happy to get a mortgage against his caravan, spend all the money then turn to the lender and say 'sorry you made a bad decision, nothing for you'? Completely illogical reasoning.
-
I think anyone turning up in even Stoke or Sunderland colours would need to be wary.
-
I hope they are re-employing lots of staff to handle the last minute rush as these fans from across the country don't appear to have bought their tickets in advance!
-
I prefer: administration is temporary, liquidation is permanent

Does not make much difference really does it which way it happens? Scenario 1: Birch sells FP for as much as he can get. Most, if not all goes to Chainrai. Scenario 2: Chairai takes possession of FP and sells it for as much as he can get. Only main difference is scenario 2 involves less of a hurried sale so he might get a bit more.
