  1. Still thinking about the demand for proof of £100m from the supporters group? If the only aim was to get the creditors, i.e. chinny, their money back and they somehow got together the same £32m as AA had been demanding of other possible purchasers then why not let them try as chinny would get his money? My guess is that any private party that did come up with the £32m would probably also have to agree to something along the lines of a 'hidden' condition to not go digging in the books to find the money trails. AA and chinny, probably rightly, decided that that would not work with the supporters group who are probably quite keen to see the money trails etc so instead decided on the extra large value instead. What would be interesting would be to hear AA's reasoning for the different figures but I doubt we will ever get it.
  2. David Brown @DavidhBrown #Redknapp: Jury in Harry Redknapp/Milan Mandaric tax evasion trial sent home. Will return to consider verdicts tomorrow at 10am.
  3. @Pearcesport Everybody called back into court. No light signal from the jury so looks like jury will be sent home for the night
  4. So given no immediate verdict I think we can be sure at least one juror thinks at least one of them is guilty?
  5. Jury sent out apparently. This link might be of interest: http://www.international-adviser.com/tax---technical/redknapp-what-the-jury-will-consider
  6. Judge: Redknapp told NewsofWorld payment was his bonus for sale of Peter Crouch. .andarich said it was for investments Starting to swing more towards a guilty verdict for me if Judge pointing out redknapp never disputed saying it was a bonus till he got to the stand.
  7. #redknapp Judge: NewsOfWorld used mix of inside info, gossip and kidology in interview with Redknapp. You may despise such behaviour. #redknapp Judge: Its not up to jurors to decide rights and wrongs of NewsOfWorld tactics. There is a current inquiry to resolve such issues #redknapp Judge: NewsofWorld reporter had an unchallenged record of his interviews with Redknapp and Mandaric
  8. Interesting snippet off twitter with reference to the "Good Character" bit...
  9. Before break judge told jury he was more than halfway through summing up. Looks like jury will start considering verdicts at around 1230
  10. James Pearce @Pearcesport Judge says both Redknapp and Mandaric are of 'good character' and tells jury that might mean more likely they should believe their evidence I think he might get away with it..
  11. Judge says Spurs boss and former Pompey owner Milan Mandaric are both "men of good character." Posted by@timesnewsdesk #Redknapp: Judge tells jury "It is on evidence not sympathy that you must base your verdict." Via @timesnewsdesk
  12. David Brown @DavidhBrown #Redknapp: Judge tells jury not to speculate who were named during trial but not called to give evidence. Posted by @timesnewsdesk #Redknapp: Judge tells jury in tax evasion trial: "Whatever your own opinions about football, ignore them" Posted by @timesnewsdesk
  13. Anyone know if their team has set of for the hitch-hike to brum yet?
  14. If the jury find him guilty then its up to the judge to sentence and there it appears there is a fairly strict range of punishments for the crime so he will either get away scot free or will go to jail.
  15. There are some obvious teams who will be trying to make sure pompey last the season: those teams that have taken points off them. Prime amongst those would be West Ham (6 points) and Cardiff (4 points).
  16. I would like to know why, if it is true, that AA quoted 32 million needed for other possibly buyers but requested proof of 100 million from the supporters group? If the figure of 32 is to guarantee chinny gets his money back so why is making certain the supporters group does not take over more important than a chance he might get his money back? (not that there is much chance they could raise the 32 million)
  17. Finished for the day now so will be v interesting to hear what the judge says in his summing up tomorrow.
  18. James Pearce @Pearcesport R's barrister calls News of World "despicable". "Pursuit of front page overrides any sense of respect + decency for individuals involved" Are we definitely sure this is not the Leveson Enquiry?
  19. James Pearce @Pearcesport Redknapp's barrister: "It's self evident that this only makes sense if Mr Redknapp is telling the truth" I agree if we are talking about his taped interviews where he claims the payment was definitely a bonus.
  20. Is this the Leveson inquiry? Statements have no relevance to charges being answered.
  21. I have no doubt they could use the councils money to compulsory purchase the ground my question is why would they do that and then give the ground to pompey so they could then sell it to tesco for £20 million?
  22. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/great-matches/chainrai_flying_to_uk_to_help_sort_out_pompey_s_future_1_3491483 Has he looked down the back of the sofa?
  23. But Ho has explained that. The council will use as yet unpassed legislation to spend an unknown amount of tax payers money to buy the land with compulsory purchase orders and then give the land to pompey so they can sell it for 20 million to Tesco. Simple.
  24. Sell to who exactly? Its only a choice if both options are doable.
  25. I fully expect the whole defence statement will be done in cockney rhyming slang... "The prosecution would have you adam and eve..."
