Problem is that to sell a player the buying club must agree to pay and the player must agree to move. If the player is happy to stay knowing they will get an extra pay day if the club goes pop there is nothing the club can do about it.

As I understand it if the club went into liquidation all the contracts end so all the players would become free agents.
