The suggestion by some that JWP should get the captaincy is bordering on insulting. He has been atrocious for 2 seasons straight now and doesn't even deserve a place on the bench, let alone the arm-band. Should he go on to completely change what we've been seeing and start playing well, and putting in good performances, then PERHAPS he could be talked about as a potential starter. But even then he'd need to do it consistently before being considered for captain. Times must be tough when this kind of suggestion is taken seriously.

Is Puel to blame? Yes, of course he is. For the woeful performances of course. But he's not the only one. Les Reed and co must take an awful lot of responsibility for flogging off a very good side and replacing the lost players with ****e.

With players such as Redmond and JWP in your starting line up you're never going to achieve anything.

Their second was a screamer, but it's the first one which Forster should have saved - or at least got close to. Watching their first goal reminded me of watching Stekelenburg in goal for us last season. A weak shot nowhere near the corner, goal. Reed needs to come out and explain to us why we've decided as a club to regress so much. It was a clear plan appointing Puel to dish these kinds of performances up, he knew exactly what he was getting when he made the appointment. Constantly getting caught in possession, misplacing passes, only going backwards and running into blind alleys. To be fair you're right that's a pretty good performance from him.

The problem with the rotation is its' giving players who either shouldn't be professional footballers, or shouldn't be anywhere near the Premier League a regular starting spot in our team. We aren't a charity but we are giving JWP an incredible amount of it. Perhaps that's the direction Reed and co are trying to take the team? Away from being a competitive force in English football and one that gives underprivileged youngsters a chance to be a footballer for the day. Completely noble and fair thing to do, wish more clubs would be so charitable, but this should be reflected in the ticket prices.

Boro will be licking their lips at coming up against Ward-Prowse, Rodriguez and Martina. We'll do well to restrict them to winning by only 2 goals, it will be 0-2 to them and a pretty good result for that starting 11.

You are right, he is young and has a lot of time to turn it around. Obviously the problem which we can all see is that at the moment is he's absolutely shocking yet is starting almost every important game. It's true he's a shambles right now but he could very well improve if given enough U21 experience or shipped out on loan to a lower league club for a couple of seasons. Perhaps we should be making use of our connections with Eastleigh and giving as many players first team experience down there.
