Is this the best depth of squad we've ever had?
niceandfriendly replied to Saint Jude's topic in The Saints
This is the best bit. Seeing more and more youngsters coming through gives such pride in the club and further enhances our already remarkable reputation of producing young players who get a chance in the first team. Really missed this under Koeman. And to think we've still got the likes of Seager and Jason McCarthy to come back who can't be far off the first team. Don't think we could either. Puel has done very well to give Yoshida a lot of games to keep him fit and happy, and he is playing well. He's not the best and makes the odd howler (who doesn't?) but as you say I don't think we could expect much better from a third choice. It's if VVD get's injured then we have a problem. Do we reckon Puel thinks Yoshida and Fonte can't play together? -
Gives the ball away very, very easily and often finds himself running into players more often than he goes past them. But he is starting to show signs of promise and hopefully he will come good soon.

Arsenal 0-2 Saints - Reaction & Semi Final Draw
niceandfriendly replied to Lighthouse's topic in The Saints
My apologies to Claude Puel and the team for thinking the team wasn't going to be strong enough. I am f**king delighted to be so wrong. Won't bother saying what a lot have already said, but just wanted to point out how well Harrison Reed played. So great to see him back from the abyss under Koeman and playing well again. McQueen also had a very strong game, he is so calm in possession and finds others very well. And to top it off Sims came on and looked very dangerous, he is going to be a joy to watch. Our academy is "sick" as the lads who play in it would probably say. -
Really thought we might go for this. Obviously not.

eplsite.com is alright

Horrific news, a sad day for everyone. Perhaps forum moderation isn't the biggest concern right now?
-
Very impressed with him today, finally. Please keep it up Prowsee!!
-
On the plus side though at least they had the first dugouts.
-
A far more exciting performance today, with Sims my MOTM. James Wardey-Prowsey the best I've seen him play by far, very happy to see that performance, let's ignore the open goal he missed for now. I'm surprised others thought Hjojbjerg played so well I thought he looked very off today. Redmond another poor one, can't seem to find a Saints shirt with any passes. VVD and Fonte solid, Cedric excellent. Why can't Forster kick? Overall, yay yay w00p w00p and a yay.

Josh Sims, welcome to the 1st team!
-
Oh Prowse ffs
-
Sims starting to give the ball away a lot, learning from Redmond obviously. Still think he's playing well though
-
F**k me they should be 1-2 up. Barkley horror miss. Sims having a blinder so far. Lost the ball then, but overall looks very lively
-
Please please stop shooting Hojberg. And please pass to a man in red and white Redmond!
-
Sims' highlight reel consists of two deflected shots, a miss-hit, a tap in, and a beauty. Any of those will do today please lad.

Sparta Prague 1 Saints 0 - Match Thread & Melt Down
niceandfriendly replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
We all dream of a team of Sam McQueens. What a load of crap that was. -
You'll no doubt get hassle for making that post, but you're spot on. We may still qualify, but 0 goals in 3 European away games is f'in pants.
-
Surely he means the game as we were basically already through.
-
He lies, and he does it so bloody well. Deserves a hostile reception but would rather we focused on our own team. Oh no sorry, I mean songs about pompey.
-
Overall a good player and we're lucky to have him. He has gone missing in a few games, most noticeably in the San Siro, but in the main he's gonna be a great purchase. JWP wishes he had a millionth of his ability.
-
Fonte the betwetter then according to this forum
-
We do press. It's just our defence pressing against our own penalty area. We've been blessed over the last few years with managers who like to attack, play expansive football and win games, it was only a matter of time before we got one who despises those things.
-
What a silly reply. I like Redmond, but he does need to be dropped the way he's playing. Yesterday was his worst game in a Saints shirt, everything he touched either went out of play or straight to a Liverpool player. Davey boy Davey boy you've made a stinker there son.
-
Oh they score goals. That's a good enough reason not to try and score one ourselves I suppose

Austin in the box and no other Saints player with 40 yards of their goal. #teamwork
