  1. I seriously think that Saints won't lose another game this season and will go up easily. The blip has come & gone and there are no decent teams in this league. Champions on April 28th. Guaranteed.
  2. Way better than nothing. Thanks for putting it up. Funny seeing Lee's goal. It was way different from what I expected after reading about it from those that were there.
  3. How are you guys doing? Where are y'all at? Have an awesome weekend!
  4. http://www.livesoccertv.com/schedules/ This site lists TV games from around the world. If a game ain't listed on here then you have very little chance of finding a stream for it. West Ham v Saints ain't listed. Anyone got any other sites like this? There used to be another similar one that had better filters etc but that closed.
  5. http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=Manor+Rd%2FA1011&daddr=51.52501,0.01163+to:Green+St%2FB167&hl=en&sll=51.525887,0.027208&sspn=0.022882,0.066047&geocode=Ffw_EgMdwhIAAA%3BFZI1EgMdbi0AAClfSL2v-qfYRzGqfmIz7qksbQ%3BFSpQEgMdvpEAAA&dirflg=w&mra=dme&mrsp=0&sz=15&via=1&t=m&z=15 If you don't mind walking then see the map linked above. It says 38 mins but it is nowhere near that long if you walk at a half decent pace. It's 1.9 miles. There is an offy on Barking Road where you can grab a beer. Once you get to West Ham tube there are no queues and it is straight through to Waterloo on the Jubilee. For night games (when you need to get back to Waterloo quite sharpish) I've found this way to be the best. Especially when you've just got a last minute winner and actually want to be able to smile about it... (a taxi could be quicker - dunno - never tried that). For all those going (or are already up in London in some pub) then enjoy. Not jealous at all...
  6. Bring it along to the USA Saints end of season promotion celebration party and the non-fat bstards can have an auction for it.
  7. Solent always does this. A bit clueless of them but ho hum - it's better than nothing but still sucks. Next season we'll be able to watch SFC on TV live (or with a short delay) every week - bliss :-)
  8. Is that in case Tadanari Lee is reading this forum? Good thinking.
  9. If Peterson can be fit and raring to go come the start of the season you'll have a chance - plus Gerhart proved himself himself to be a reasonable debuty. Assuming you go with Ponder then he'll have a proper pre-season to get it together. Harvin looked good last season. If Shiancoe & Jenkins can do a bit more then off ya go... Jared & Greenway were good again last season. Your defense is pretty good. Surely this is the year you are off to the SB again - where you will (obviously) meet the Broncos who can't fail to rip the league apart next season...
  10. No! No! No! Awful choice. As a SFC fan just go with the Saints. In the NFL you can sort of have 2 teams. A main one and a secondary one from the other Conference. At least have Saints as your NFC team and see what happens. You will soon find out that the Chargers are a bunch of whining gits and hate them. We'll let you off if you change your team quickly. After that there is no turning back though! As I'm married to someone from CO I have no choice. It is Broncos - or live on the street. Saints are my 2nd team though and I always want them to win - unless (like happens next season) they are playing the Broncos. I went to Indy on Sunday for the SB. Didn't have a ticket for the game but it was a pretty good day out to see all the stuff etc that was downtown near to the ground. I think they put on a good SB and the general view from the media seemed to be pretty positive. Not sure if it was good or bad that the Broncos didn't make it there - if they had then the 'how much would you pay for a ticket' question would have come into play. Next year the SB is in New Orleans. If the Broncos make that one then I'd seriously think about going down for it. Yeah, yeah - I know - dream on... THE best thing about the NFL is that all 32 teams can dream about winning it next year (apart from the Chargers of course cos they suck). The draft system, salary cap and injuries to key players make this possible. Look at the Colts. Brilliant with Manning. He's out and they collapse. This can happen to any team (praps not quite as drastically) but it is a brutal sport and players get banged up all the time. Roll on September. SFC in the Prem and the NFL season starting again.
  11. This pic is probably how most of you there will probably remember the game - seen through a snow storm:
  12. The Saints support sounded and looked good today. Fair play to all of those who went. Did these geezers go 'shirts off' the whole game? Pic:
  13. It got moved to 9pm ET (ET = USA Eastern Time) for primetime TV in New York City & Washington DC. This makes it 2am UK time. Bham & Saints both agreed to this as they reckon the snow will have melted by then. Not many Saints fans have moaned as it means they can get totally twtted before the game in the Brum and then have a gurt fry up after the game at some caf near New Street - before the 1st train home on Sunday morning.
  14. According to http://msn.foxsports.com/foxsoccerplus/tvschedule the Bham v Saints game is now being shown at 9pm ET (not 4pm like it was originally scheduled to be). So if you had made any plans to have people round to watch it then you may have to change them... Equally disappointing is that West Ham v Millwall ain't on TV live now (it was listed as being so). Saints, West Ham & Cardiff games are all live on foxsoccer.tv though ( http://www.foxsoccer2go.com/upcoming ). Looks like they are pushing this quite heavily at the moment. Can ex-pats in other countries see the game tomorrow? Championship coverage in the USA is actually pretty good. Quite a few games on live & delay and this is the 1st time I've know them to muck around with the scheduling...
  15. It's about 1.5 miles so you should make that train easily. I'd definitely not bother with trying to get a train from Bordesley to New Street. Way more hassle than it's worth. Must admit to just looking up train times and I see that the last train to Southampton is at 21.04. Time for a couple of beers after the game as well then... Can you still get a Network Card return to Banbury and then a day return from Banbury to New Street? I used to do it that way and the cost wasn't too bad - plus it meant you could get buy the train tickets on the day (you could get both from Southampton) and get any train you wanted without any hassle. Wish I was going. Enjoy.
  16. It is live on foxsoccer.tv (and still on FSP at 4pm ET). Some big games coming up in the next couple of weeks. Shame the Cardiff & West Ham games aren't being shown - gonna have to be Radio Solent for those. Gutted that Mboro & Sland drew yesterday. That probably knocks our replay off of the TV...
  17. 'anticlimax' - that sums it up well. When taping a game things can go wrong (storm knocks out the satellite / power cut / taped wrong channel) but nope - everything was perfect. I did still enjoy watching the game until about the last 10 mins. Up until then I still thought 'score now and we can win this'. Plus at least there was a 'what-if' last night. What if Connolly had grabbed hold of that back pass and whacked it in the back of the net (instead of aiding the back pass). That would have been 1-0 to Saints... Cincy USA - did you go to the bar to watch it? That would have sucked even more - especially if you bigged-up Saints pre-game!
  18. Sorry for posting up about this! Was a real shame the game wasn't that good. Everything worked out great. Taped it - picked up a pre-ordered pizza on the way home - fridge full of beer and sat down to watch it at 5pm ET. It was great & I said at the time 'I wish Saints would play every Monday'. Then came the game and it just never got going. The one good thing is that I wasn't sat here feeling homesick wishing badly that I was there.... Onwards and upwards. Surely we can't play that badly again. It was just the lack of urgency that got me. Get some tackles in, show some passion etc Next TV game for us is Birmingham. Bring it on! Got a good feeling about that one.
  19. I read 'England's Dreaming' a while back and remember it being a pretty decent book. The funny thing with the Pistols is that if it wasn't for the interview in the video below they could well have been a pretty much nothing band. This interview (that only went out on local London TV) put them on the front pages and as they say - the rest is history... If it wasn't for Queen (who were also on EMI at the time) pulling out of this interview then it wouldn't have happened. If Siouxsie Sioux hadn't said 'I've always wanted to meet you' - if Grundy hadn't have had a good few before it... etc etc. This video includes some comments on it from those involved - NSFW: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p25SdQEnhHI I watched 'Who Killed Nancy?' (the film) yesterday. SPOILER: | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | \/ It leaves the viewer with the conclusion that some mush called Michael was the probable killer - not Rockets Redglare.
  20. You've lived up there too long mate! To me a thick Brummie & a thick Wolverhampton accent sound the same. The only accent I can't abide is a posh one. If someone starts speaking to me with the 'plum accent' I'll just switch off, thing 'twt' and walk off. As for Scousers? I remember way back talking to a couple of Everton fans outside of The Dell once. I couldn't understand a word one of them said - and he couldn't understand me either - his mate was a translator. Seriously - it was that bad. I often wonder how the hell he got in life not understanding a word anyone said... Talk to a proper Glaswegian and you're screwed. Can't understand a word. The USA accents? I can handle pretty much any of them apart from a slow Texan one. FFS - just get on with it mate - seriously in the time it takes them to order a beer I could have got 2 (and necked the 1st one already). It is painful to talk to someone who takes 3 hours to say 10 words.
  21. You really do think you have to reply to every thread don't you? Normally I just skip past your innate rants but had no choice this time. Ho hum. Whatever. /ignore Anyway - back to the question (a good one). I've not read that book (yet) - can you give us a quick summary of why you think Sid is innocent (good Exploited song BTW). I always think that Sid's time in the USA was all a bit 'iffy'. Who really knows what went on at the Chelsea Hotel that night but something definitely didn't seem quite right about it all. Have your read 'Lobotomy' by Dee Dee Ramone? It's a bit painful to read (he is all over the place) but it is a good insight to how fcked up a lot of 'em were. Give it a go if you get the chance. It was definitely a screwy time in the NYC Punk scene around that time. Sid was definitely in a bit of a mess which makes it so easy to believe he did kill Nancy. For that reason alone I'd like to think he didn't...
  22. Just for the record... I signed up to foxsoccer.tv for the $10 a month trial. Cancelled it for a while (dunno - bout 2 weeks) and then went to re-subscribe (for the Forest game). It let me do the $10 a month trial again. It will subscribe me for a year if I don't cancel it after a month - but this appears to be the only catch. It was as easy as click last time - no need to call them, cancel it with banks etc I fully expected the $10 trial to be gone now - it wasn't. Cool. --- RoswellSaint - did you sort out your PC to TV connectivity? Without knowing your equipment/available connections it is impossible to guide you specifically. All I’ll say is that it is pretty simple (some help that is I know…) Put ‘how to connect a pc to a tv’ into Google and have a read-up on the umpteen sites that show up. The gist of it is: run a cable from PC to TV for the picture (may need another cable for sound – depends on your soundcard – if you have a home theatre you can run a cable from sound-out on your PC to aux-in on your HT). select correct input on TV (like you probably have to do now to use your DVD player) you may need to set up the display properties on your PC to recognize the TV as a second monitor (which is basically what your TV becomes). You can then drag un-maximized windows from your PC monitor to your TV screen. You can then maximise them on the TV screen. Job done… A wireless keyboard and mouse come in handy. You can then control your TV (which is now your PC) from the comfort of your sofa… I’m sure it can all be done wirelessly with the correct equipment. I personally can’t do that with my TV so need a couple of cables. Get stuck? - post up any specific questions and I’m sure someone can point you in the right direction…
  23. Saturday's games sucked. BAL struggled by HOU ... but then the last game was excellent. The refs did their usual job of attempting to hand GB a victory but it didn't work. I can't remember the last time I cheered so many dropped passes. A great game. Of the 4 left I now want SF to win it. Any team who names themselves after Suburban Filth has gotta be good in my eyes.
  24. Just add that you won't get rich on backing the favs this weekend. This is what oddschecker currently has: NO 4/9 @ SF 17/10 DEN 11/2 @ NE 1/6 HOU 14/5 @ BAL 3/10 NYG 29/10 @ GB 3/10 A accy on the 4 favs is under 2/1 (a tenner would get you back about 28.50). Almost seems like easy money though ey? If I had to pick one of the outsiders it would be the Giants.
  25. Well down the final 8 now: AFC: DEN @ NE - look I'm a Broncos fan - I can't predict anything else bar another win. No - I wouldn't put my life on it but they do have a chance. Don't totally write them off (like some people did v the Steelers). HOU @ BAL - I think the Ravens will nail this one quite easily. I'd love to see Houston do 'em though. NFC: NO @ SF - Come on you Saints! Won't be a walk-over but I think Saints will score heavily again & march on. I'm really interested in this game though - mainly to see just how good SF are. They've been well under the radar all season. NYG @ GB - If the Giants can do just half as good-a job on defense v GB as they did v ATL then they have a chance here. GB would probably still score quite well but I can see the Giants putting quite a few on the board. I'm going for GB - but not in a walk-over - they'll be made to earn it. Forest v SFC live and then the NFL quarter finals. A good weekend of sport is lined up.
