There's a Lowe's in the town I live in. I've never been in there - the name just puts me right off. Menards is better anyway.

Mid-west USA would be a good place to go. Nice weather and good facilities. Saints could play Chicago Fire and Columbus Crew (West Ham played them last year so it's not that un-feasible). Gets my vote anyway...

Saints fans worried about Totton & Eastleigh nicking their attendance. I know it ain't funny but f**** hell!!!! Before you have a heart attack I'd guess that 90% of Eastleigh & Totton fans are Saints fans - we support our local team.

Totton lost 2-1 after extra time. Totally gutted. The best & worst thing was that I got to listen to the game live in the USA. Radio Oxford had live commentary. Trouble was the co-commentator was some snobby old c**** who should have being doing cricket or show-jumping. Hopefully Totton can re-group and do well again next season. After all this was their first ever season at this level. As for Eastleigh??? Well not a good week for local football at all. All we need now is for Lowe to buy the club and that will finish it off!!! I'm off out to get p*ssed. That'll solve it all :-)

As a Saints fan I hope every team in League 1 next season gets docked way more that 10 points. We could then start top of the league - not bottom. Seriously though - the more teams that get docked points the better. Gives us a better chance of staying up. I've seen people on here are analysing if we can make the play-offs - hey, let's get out of the bottom 4 first!

I'll just add that AFC Totton also won tonight in a play-off. They beat Beaconsfield 2-1 including a last min penalty save to stop it going to extra time. The game ended with a mass brawl that apparently was the worst (best?) most people have ever seen. They are now home to Didcot on Sat (they beat Windsor) - the winner will be promoted to the Southern Prem (4 Leagues below Saints). Why couldn't Saints have done the same as Totton? ie get to a major cup final and invest the money in the team and really push on. Good luck to Totton on Sat - they are now strong favs but still have to do the biz...

Well said. I sometimes do wonder about some people. It's pretty bleedin simple. If we win today by any score we have a chance of 'staying up'. If Barnsley win today then we can't catch them. That still leaves Norwich & Forest to finish above.

Well part 1 complete. I also think Norwich will lose to Reading. However I think Forest will draw 0-0 and Saints will win 2-0 thus meaning we'd need to win at the City Ground by 2 goals to stay up. We will. It will be 3-1 to Saints. Simple. THE SAINTS ARE STAYING UP.

Cool - will have to make a point of watching the MLS next time Real Salt Lake play and see if Southampton gets a mention. At present I don't think there are any Saints related players at all in the MLS. Anyone know of any?

My longest ever winning odds on one event is 66/1. This was the price Saints were to score the most goals in the Prem the day they put 6 (S-I-X) past Man Utd. I only put a quid on but still a great bet. Coral dropped this bet off of their coupons as rarely did the favoured teams score the most goals. Most fans (like me) would back their own team and often a long odds one would win it. Good thread.

Just called my mate who is at the Norwich v Watford game (he is a Saints fan but lives in Norwich). He says Norwich deserve their lead and are the better team. So that sets it up for a totally undeserved 90th min Watford equaliser.

The US gambling laws are just f***ed up. If you go to the centre of Indianapolis, right in the heart of downtown there is a 3 level off-track betting place (basically a bookies). It has bars. So here you can drink (& smoke) and gamble on just about anything. There's tons of TV screens showing sh*** loads of different sports. It's not exactly hidden away down a back street. How come this can be here but not elsewhere? If you are ever in Indy it is well worth popping into it just for the novelty value.

When the hell are they gonna open the USA betting laws? The one thing I really miss over here is not being able to use Betfair. It's not as if you can't bet online - you can bet on quite a few sites (ie www.sportsbook.com ) but they ain't a patch on Betfair. Guess it'll happen one day - will just have wait...

Full of p*ssed-up ex-pat Brits as well! PokerStars for me. A lot of sites don't allow log-ins from the USA but PokerStars is fine. The replay feature is brilliant - it lets you see mucked hands with one click. No need to look up the hand history. Do other sites have this? Lots of traffic on this site so you don't have wait long for a table to fill up. The site never crashes either - it's really stable. Fav game is 9 player sit 'n' go. Top 3 get paid.

Well said. We are running out of these 'must win' games but it's not as if we totally out of it yet. (obviously) it ain't looking good but it's not certain yet. We've had a couple of good, freaky results at Wolves in recent years - will need another one. We will be long odds for a win - def worth a few bob as I think we will win up there. No I haven't been drinking today - praps I'm still p***ed from last night! I'll shut up and get back to watching basketball... It's the NCAA final four tonight. Exciting stuff ey? Gutted....

Cool website. Thought it was gonna be generic but it is pretty much 100% Saints. Have you got any match worn boots though? My wife has Jo Tessem's boots from the Aberdeen v Saints game just after the 2003 FA Cup final. Some kid got his shirt, she asked for his shorts - he said 'no' but instead took his boots off and gave them to her. Top man. We managed to get them from the ground to the hotel (via a few pubs) and then back to Southampton on the train the next day. Since then they have made it over The Atlantic to America where they are sat on a bookcase on display.

The quality of the UK Streetview is really good. Way better than most of the USA towns & cities that have been 'streetViewed' for sometime now. Some good ones to walk around: Amsterdam Belfast Tokyo

Failing that how about getting another local band (and Saints Fans) The Flying Alexendras to pen an original track. Anything but all the predictable over done sh**** that you here at umpteen sporting events nowadays...
