Thundering defensive header from Billy Ketchup there, wouldn’t fancy being marked by him.
-
Lovely run and shot from Ketchup!

No, poor game all round so far. Leeds have probably edged it but saints have got back into it after a sluggish start.
-
I think he just gets the ball there
-
Saints haven’t settled at all here. A good couple of opening minutes, the rest has been very scrappy.
-
Leeds break down our left flank. Think that could be a common theme.
-
Awful isn’t it? I was. Thinking the same.

Bednarek boots it out of play with his first touch. Good start.

I’m going to have to assume that theres something more to Perraud’s fitness than meets the eye. For him to not even make the squad is baffling otherwise. In terms of other options, there’s not many. Certainly not like for like. The best other options are switching KWP to the left, and playing one of Valery/JWP/other at right wing back. So, not ideal at all. Also, just a personal opinion, I reckon KWP has been onto Ralph about only playing him on the right. Like I say, just a personal opinion on that one. Djenepo at LWB is a disaster waiting to happen, hopefully we can limit how much he gets exposed defensively.

As of yesterday Perraud said he’s not sure he can complete 90 minutes yet, but seemed keen to give it a go. Result……dropped from the squad of 20. https://www.hampshirelive.news/sport/football/football-news/romain-perraud-southampton-leeds-united-7457820

So Djenepo starts again, not good. Why is Joe Aribo dropped? And for flipping Elmo.
-
The sad thing is, this is exactly what I expect to happen today.

Home season ticket sales seem down too. Not sure how old this page is, but it’s stating that we’ve sold over 17,000. https://www.southamptonfc.com/season-tickets I seem to recall our best figures for season tickets was 23,000.

🤣 After witnessing Federico’s ‘performance’ first hand, I see no risks in going after another Arias.
-
Not quite sure why the club extended Big Willy’s contract if Lis is going to be number 3. Maybe they’re trying Lis out before the window slams shut, will keep him if he looks up to it and look to loan out if not.

On the opening day of the season we started Moussa Djenepo at left wing back. We are absolutely that desperate.
-
One would hope so but I doubt it. Although, given that it hasn’t rained for about 3 months, it perhaps wouldn’t be too full right now…

Given by how much he throws out the confused emoji, Matt Le God seems confused most of his life.

Cancelled out by the loss of Livramento and Broja right now, both of whom are not available to our first team. Add in Che Adams’ potentially, based on last week he’s not in out starting eleven.. Lavia is a prospect for sure but I think Romeu us better, right now. So, no, I don’t agree that on balance we are better. Particularly when Jan Valery gets a spot. If he’s an improvement then we need help.

I prefer the Chinese takeaway on the northern side of the ridge.

On the flip side, the last time we sacked a manager after three games we ended up with Nigel Adkins and won promotion that season. It’s definitely not too late. I think the club have a successor lined up. The question is how quickly it comes.
-
Chaz is doing enough sniffing for both of them…….
-
To be honest I don’t think the transfer window factor is that high. The club clearly had a plan to get in Joe Shields from Man City as head of recruitment, and he has already brought in two Man City grads in Bazunu and Lavia, with reported interest around others. The club will want a manager, Ralph or a new guy, to buy into that ethos. So I don’t think that’s a big factor. Going into a new season with an under motivated squad and a clueless formation that has such obviously massive flaws given the personnel employed? Well, yeah, that’s pretty abject.

Sorry, which match thread are you reading? Im reading this one. It’s fairly consistently negative about the performance. Half time is pages from late 9 onwards.

There’s a difference between the last few years and now. Footballers are a notoriously precious and fickle bunch, and once players start kicking off about the manager it mostly only ends up one way. Whether fans like it or not, player power often trumps all.
