it’s the hope that kills you. Would be hilarious though.

Wouldn’t pay much attention to odds, they move based on money placed rather than inside info. I think it’ll be close but a single digit con majority. My polling station was ever so quiet when I was in to vote, albeit it was only just coming up to 5 o’clock. Hopefully it’s not a sign of a low turnout.

Despite the Pompey connection I always quite liked him. RIP.

Norwich and Watford are clearly the weak links In the division, As I said in my earlier post we need to take advantage of our December run.
-
Maybe we can do both; celebrate a win and Highlight other areas for improvement where we might get undone against a better side?

On demand games was excellent. Picture quality for me was fine (Amazon app through BT box). Only minor downside is that it takes my app about 30 seconds to change channels, I’d ideally like to flick to other games for a few seconds when there’s lulls in play at saints (most of the time then lolz). Overall though an excellent service, looking forward to more of the same on Boxing Day.

Just don’t look like we’re ever going to keep a clean sheet. Unsurprising, as we very rarely do. So nervy at the back, surely we can’t go much further being reliant on Jack Stephens in the middle? Cédric seems ok with the ball but like he’s at panic stations without it. A win is a win but I haven’t seen anything to suggest we’ll be comfortable at any point this season. Two of the easiest games done but December is reasonably kind so need to take advantage.

Agreed Pete, not sure what Yoshida has done but he’s much better than Stephens. Yoshida is indeed far from perfect but he’s much more solid than Stephens, who just looks terrified and makes far too many mistakes.
-
Agree that his set pieces are very good, he’s got a superb ping on him. But I agree somewhat from other posts that, apart from the goal which was very good, he was a bit weak in there. Still, a win is a win and that free kick was the game winner. Cédric, I thought, was dreadful and would much prefer Valery in there. Which is worrying. Jack Stephens is clearly still not a reliable centre half.

The United Kingdom and the Death of Boris Johnson as we know it.

I think my grandmother would make a better PM than Boris and she’s been dead for 23 years, so it’s a pretty low benchmark. -
Perhaps more accurate, to use that analogy with Duckenfield, is that he then drove off after the incident and claimed someone else was driving.
-
Just a shame that 96 souls didn’t get to live with it following his actions. Yes, The criminal justice process is complete, but not everyone has to agree with it. And I couldn’t care a fig about his conscience or how easy it has or hasn’t been, I’m afraid.
-
I’m not suggesting it was entirely the fault of one person. There were obviously many that were complicit. There were charges brought against more than one person originally, at least one other went to court over it. I just believe that Duckenfield’s actions on the day and in the aftermath deserve punishment. That he is the figurehead alone maybe not ‘fair’ but he is culpable. I very much believe that if Hillsborough had happened, say, three years ago, he would be in jail by now. The cover up is just as bad as the events of the day IMO. He has got away with everything. All of it. At the end of the day, one has to respect the decision of the courts. I just don’t agree with them on this occasion though. This man must surely have been made to face some justice, and he won’t.

That would be all well and good but it wasn’t one mistake by him, there were many. Opening the gates itself wasn’t the whole problem, it was also that there were no police stationed at the point to divert fans into the side pens. At previous games there had been, so a big error by him. Also not reacting quickly to the obvious disaster ensuing, not letting ambulances in, it’s more than one error. More to the point, lying his arse off in the aftermath about how events had unfurled and entirely blaming the fans, which he admitted under oath in court. That he’s got away with all that is staggering.

Awful decision. The inquiry findings of unlawful killing stands, but apparently nobody was actually to blame.

That Andrew Neil interview was I mean fair play to Neil for refusing to accept bluster, or a non answer. But Corbyn just came across as an incompetent self entitled tit. It was car crash stuff. Corbyn tries to appeal to a broad church but doesn’t have the intellect or personality to thrive under any scrutiny. His constant rolling of eyes to tough questions shows his disdain for his beliefs being questioned. I hope Neil goes in just as hard on Boris but I think Johnson, as slimy and duplicitous as he is, will handle it better (can’t get much worse). Johnson won’t let him interrupt as much and will gladly just ramble on proving the answer he wants rather than the one asked.

Adam Leitch leaving the Echo after 17.5 years...
The Kraken replied to SuperSAINT's topic in The Saints
I can imagine that would be a very interesting book, I hope he gets around to it. -
The ID thing is a potential, but I believe councils would offer a free of charge electoral ID if it were to become law. Given that, I still fail to see the issue.
-
I’m not sure what the opposition is to having to use ID to vote. The current system is a piece of **** to abuse, you don’t even need to show up with your polling card. Seems like an easy thing to sort. I’m not saying there’s widespread vote fraud going on but it’s not a stretch to say that there could easily be a small amount that wouldn’t be picked up by the current system.
-
Agreed, the audience should be banned. As for performance I can’t imagine anyone will be changing their vote from one to the other after that. Two very weak attempts at canvassing. At best just entrenching views. Overall Corbyn was slightly better but massively let down by his refusal to answer the Brexit polling question. very weak format and the moderator was truly terrible.
-
What an absolute farce this has been. Pathetic moderator has no control at all, Johnson is just blustering his way through difficult questions with sound bites, Corbyn follows suit and refuses to answer direct questions.
-
Really not sure what’s happened to him. Last season he was excellent. But he’s fallen out with more than one player and just keeps making some bizarre team choices. worrying that the players just look so lost, and we start so many games so badly. Two touches in the opposition area in the first half is awful.
