  1. Yep, what a chopper he is for not accepting his contract being torn up by the club without adequate compensation being agreed.
  2. Good; that's something we've not really had in the last season (or at least never really looked to play that way).
  3. Hmmm. Will have to wait and see what happens and what the bigger picture is for this. But I thought Puncheon was excellent in pre-season against Real Sociedad, he had an immediate impact and gave us a whole new attacking dimension. He'll obviously getmore game time for the Eagles but froma selfish point of view I'd much rather he were available here. Of course if we have someone to replace that position then its a moot point; but JWP is a different player altogether.
  4. F*cking hell, that must have taken the poor bastard hours
  5. You didn't physically count them did you?! There's text at the top of each block that tells you how many seats are in the block, and how many seats are still for sale.
  6. It's still a bit of a sh*t system if you're looking for tickets and there's only a few left; there's no quick and easy way to find the available seats, you have to manually search in each block. At the bare minimum it needs something to tell you that a particular block is completely sold out; at best, an up to date system that lists (as you have done) the amount available in each block.
  7. I don't think hideous is the right word. She is a vacuous oxygen thief though.
  8. I think he's dreamy.....
  9. Quite cringeworthy. Obviously a necessity for him to come out with an un-ending supply of platitudes so that the press don't do a number on him, but it does make every single press conference exactly like the last one. "The manager is great, Southampton are a great club, it's always been a dream for me to play in the Premier League".
  10. Traditionally the first 3 or 4 home games of the season are the least attractive games. When previously in the PL and per last season too, our best attendance figures are to be found at the back end of the season. Of last season's opening 4 league games we only sold out against Man United, with games against Wigan and Fulham attracting 29K and 28K respectively. If we sell out against the likes of Sunderland, West Ham, Crystal Palace and Swansea then it would hard to argue that our crowds have moved on since last season.
  11. Sterling work Jeff. And pay no attention to all the naysayers; they're just jealous that, unlike you, they didn't get off their lazy backsides to give the CEO a reminder he clearly needed (and heeded) to buck up our transfer ideas. This football club needs more people like you, Jeff. People who are willing to put their hands up and ask the difficult questions rather than just accept the status quo. All power to you, this team is a better one today than it was when you started this thread, and I think you can take a good share of the spoils from that.
  12. The top 3 of the PL stand scrutiny with any other league in Europe, and the top 5 or 6 isn't bad. The bottom half of the PL is pretty non-descript though. Germany are definitely in the ascendancy right now.
  13. Yep, good work Jeff, you hurried this transfer through. All credit to you.
  14. No worries Toke. I'd like to say live and let live with Gary Crob but, well, he's def a bit of a wrong'un. Little proactivity from the chap and much anger permeating, from a "new member". Never mind, diff'rent strokes. He seems to enjoy himself being all angry and stuff, so good luck to him.
  15. Tokes, are you like stealing my joke there? Man, I'm bad at jokes, dude. You don't need to be stealing mine.
  16. Buy a mirror, Crabbo. You'll say what you see.
  17. Well said Philip. I reckon I'd thrash you at golf.
  18. OK that's a really good one
  19. You'd be surprised, Mr. Greaves.
  20. One man's arguing is another man's discussion. Who'd have thought it?
  21. I hope that isn't the limit of your ambitions, James.
  22. Good to know what's allowed. Cheers.
  23. I think you've missed my point. Bazza and Alpine may express their opinions in p*ss poor ways; but that's their undoing, often they raise perfectly valid points. The extremity of their opinion and the way they present it often gets people's backs up, and you're typically the leader of the fightback brigade who only seek to p*ss fire on the perceived WUM bonfire and take a totally contrary view. The truth of the matter usually lies somewhere in the middle and often gets lost in the black and white parody it all becomes. If we lose 3-0 then I'll have a few misgivings about the side and how much we've learnt from last season. According to you, that one result would have zero meaning and is not worth discussing. I can't ago along with that; I think it means something, even if its fairly small potatoes in terms of a whole season. I don't have to, or want to wait 10-20 before discussing the merits of this season's side. I don't think internet forums are designed around waiting that long to ascertain how well we'll fare come May. If you need to wait that long then fair enough; that's your decision.
  24. I'm not sure if it's a indictment on Neil Allen or me, but that's the first thing I thought
