Ah ok. Excuse me if I pass that by then. The silly boy. He who laughs last, and all that. Edit: Now you mention it I remember him doing the wind up, which if I recall correctly came after our spanners gave him dogs abuse all game until he scored against us.

Found your wallet at last then, cheapskate? MLG will be uber delighted.

That's what I'm wondering. I'm also wondering why I'm supposed to hate him. Other than that he was sh*t for the Skates.
-
I can see why.

Exactly right.

Again, I can only go by the deluded few's mad scrawlings on POL. But that will all be covered before the PDT take over. And the only fees they owe Chinny that I know of are the delays from the very first court case, which they reckon are relatively small. Don't get me wrong, I think they're full of sh*t and the true story of debt will probably get hushed up and brushed over. Just like they're claiming they're now "free of debt" when they are patently anything but. Another Portsmyth to add to the list.
-
I didn't say it was true!! Just what the deluded few are saying. From what I hear PKF's fees were capped at £2.5M, and these will be taken from held back funds (previous parachute payments) before the PDT take over. So technically they're not a debt that the PDT will have to encounter.

You'd expect wrong, according to POL. £350K over 5 years.

I wouldn't worry, its on;y Art. He's a complete f*cking mentalist.

Where has this obsession with top 4 club players come from, anyway? It wasn't always like this. Steve Bull going to Italia 90 and he didn't play one minute of top flight football. Peter Taylor got picked for England when he was playing in the third division. The Sky generation has a lot to answer for.

That would be my problem. Take away the badge and we have nothing that is unique to us. Look at Pompey, they use their city crest and I think their badge is one of the worst ones going.
-
Welbeck looks to me like a player that should have it all, but something is not quite right. He really should be scoring far more goals than he does. I think he's a very talented player, but he just doesn't look like a genuine top striker. Similar to Sturridge, really. When Sturridge went to Bolton on loan he scored something like 10 goals in 10 games, and you wondered how good he could go on to be. Again, it's not worked out and even another big move has yet to revitalise him.

What sort of theme would a new badge take? Most other new club badges are a minor adaptation and modification of the existing badge. What are we hoping for from ours? I can't really see what a minor modification would achieve, the badge is simple enough as it is and IMO stands the test of time adequately (I preferred it with the old ball though). So failing that, what would/should a new design entail?
-
Why would people be outraged? Prior to this badge we either didn't have any badge printed on shirts or used the city crest. Certainly didn't have a design that we'd used for 40 years, or that was directly relevant to the football club. and football clubs change their badges all the time, look at Leeds down the years.
-
I don't mind the badge at all. It's fairly simple, it's neat, and it's distinctive enough that people know exactly who it is when they see it. I'm not really fussed if we change it or not, but it wouldn't be on my priority list to change it. I don't see anything else as a better alternative, the city crest is for exactly that, the city and not the football club.

Realistic target placing next season - current squad?
The Kraken replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
What on earth are you going on about? I genuinely don't understand your point. -
Fairly sure that recently relegated clubs have a 2 year exemption to this. I may be wrong on the duration, but there's definitely an exemption of sorts. They've previously said they have someone in mind to come in as a CEO; someone with genuine experience. Quite who they can afford is another matter. It really is going to be fun to see the novelty wear off and watch it all unfurl. A massive accident waiting to happen.

Odd. As our previous manager constantly used to bang on about; you can't stand still in football, you need to constantly try to improve. Quite why we'd be basing anything on not improving the squad over the summer is bizarre. -
If Benteke is up for young player he'll get it I reckon; heard the other day he's got 18 goals this season which is a really decent haul for a sh*t team. Really good player, Villa fans I've heard on the radio seem to love him.

Rickie for me. To score as many goals as he has is a brilliant achievement. And as great as Morgan/cork have been, I can't help but think of them as an efficient midfield combination rather than either of them as a stand out player of the year. Luke Shaw for young nipper of the year.

Is extending the ground at the end of next season actually true?
The Kraken replied to Roger's topic in The Saints
Fair points. And to this I somewhat agree, I don't think (or at least I hope) we're not a huge distance from justifying some form of expansion. From a safe standpoint I'd be looking to wait a couple more seasons as we're not there yet IMO; but a couple of seasons of sellouts (and far in advance of match day) and it makes a very strong case. -

i wouldn't be as keen to speak for "most people" as you are, to be honest. I have no idea what sort of incentive it would be if families knew they could decide on the day to attend a match. And I've been told on more than one occasion that walk ups in our previous PL days used to number in the thousands; so if that's in any way true it shows some form of high demand for on the day sales.
