  1. Would you not agree that the only ways we, as customers, can influence it are by either not going (not really an option if you're a fan, we can't just decide to support someone else) or to talk about it on a public forum and perhaps try to garner some local and national media attention? There's no forum to engage with the club, so there's little other option. It may lead to answers, it probably won't, but I'd prefer to be asking the question and not sweeping it under the mat. The only problem with that is; as soon as it does appear in print there's plenty of people waiting in line to decry how outrageous it all is rather than objectively looking at what's being written. Ask yourself; how many other clubs would treat a former legend such as MLT so shoddily and yet see their fans do absolutely nothing about it? Would Man Utd fans have sat back and done nothing when the Glazers came in had they shoved Bobby Charlton out of the club? The amount of apathy amongst Saints fans is disappointing, really.
  2. Chambers on London Road is fairly chilled these days. Good pizza too.
  3. When did Shilts have a beard?
  4. Not sure if you've noticed; but internet forums are kind of designed for rumour and conjecture. Stick to the OS if its 100% cold hard facts you're after.
  5. It should come back. That, and wally. Nik Nak the wally; it has a ring to it.
  6. The side of him being a rotter? Not that huge, no. Added into questionable business practise and all other accusations; well, make your own mind up how important it is.
  7. Yep, that's a story I'd definitely want to read. "Nicola Cortese is a bit of a rotter. Read all about our stunning revelations about how he instructs staff not to speak to him unless he initiates contact, and how he refuses to defecate into communal toilets so had his own installed". Rivetting stuff that, worthy of a full page editorial.
  8. Dave Prutton was a regular beardface for other clubs; not so much us though. Kamil Kosowski at LM though, definitely.
  9. He's only gone and tipped us to win again tomorrow. Pretty much the only time he's been wrong about us this season has been when he's put us down for victory. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20228221
  10. Well I answered previously, you just chose to ignore it
  11. I initially thought of NH until I saw young Charles' post-1999 criteria.
  12. I imagine they would do. From what I've heard the players are given VIP treatment all the way and treated like kings. The rest of the staff; no, not so much...
  13. I genuinely don't think WGS would give us anything better than we have already in Nigel.
  14. You keep saying this. There's not a great deal as fans we can do, aside from what we are doing. Which is highlighting it and hoping that the local and national media run with it, as they have chosen to do.
  15. There's a tab titled "Directors Employees" on each one, with details. However the shareholders tab is restricted, I think you have to pay to access that.
  16. Franny at left back? He shaved off the mo later in his career, but it was a striking image throughout his time at the Dell.
  17. Its a good one, isn't it? The £33M figure is that which was converted into equity. 2 + 2 = 5 Pompey maths seems to have decreed that this now is the figure of the loan from the BVI. Anyway; this thread is about them, not Saints FFS!
  18. We're having an advance of monies equivalent to those that will be paid at the end of the season. Because (I assume) we do not have the funds available now to spend them. It may only be secured against next year's funding, but its also being (has been?) spent now. The rest is speculation so neither of us knows for sure, other than we're spending money we otherwise didn't have. So, despite suggesting I don't know and I am speculating, you put forward a theory and speculation of your own. Ok then. There's clearly a decision for who wants to believe what, which is how it should be. I think we're not living within our means; and haven't been since the takeover. You said: "hence the loan, which we then pay back over the year when each prem TV money installment comes in"; what is this based upon?
  19. Its all interpretation, I suppose. Would you have said that a financial bonus for promotion from the Championship was last year's funds? I wouldn't, I would claim it as money earned and available to spend this year. Same for the prize money/parachute payments. Parachute payments are to cushion the blow of relegation; not to spend now.
  20. So if fans think there are financial problems they should just shut the f*ck up and say nothing? Is that the solution? Or should we highlight things which are a concern? Such as Southampton Football Club Ltd's last accounts showing a net worth of minus £28M. http://companycheck.co.uk/company/00053301 Such as St. Mary's SPV Ltd's last accounts showing a new worth of minus £18M. http://companycheck.co.uk/company/03998175 Such as St. Mary's Stadium Ltd's last accounts showing a net worth of minus £22M. http://companycheck.co.uk/company/03798424 And such as DMWSL613 Ltd. (the holding company) last accounts showing a net worth of minus £24M. http://companycheck.co.uk/company/06951765 Nah, probably best just to ignore all that and assume our banker owner knows exactly what he's doing.
  21. A bit out of order pulling that? Who did that, and why?
  22. He really is quite bizarre at times in that interview. Interviewer: "Portpin are claiming that the delay in all this is racking up extra fees for the administrators and taking away that funding from the club." Farmery: "Fumble stutter well, Portpin are making accusations, how they know that for a fact I'd be interested to know myself. Its a highly speculative statement designed only to worry supporters and try to knock the PST bid off track. Clearly. They would say that, wouldn't they?" Interviewer: "And what do you make to the accusation from Portpin that Pompey fans should be in no doubt they are being manipulated? That behind the PST bid are a number of property developers who appear to be becoming majority stakeholders and are trying to get their hands on the land around the ground. Farmery: "Fumble stumble well again its highly speculative allegations which at the end of the day I'd be interested to know what foundation of fact they're using to do this. I mean, to be frank, I think Portpin are simply making stuff up." Now, if I were a potential PST shareholder and posed that question and got that response, alarm bells would be ringing loud in my ears. Just because its speculative it doesn't mean that its incorrect, or indeed flagging up genuine concerns.
  23. Perhaps best I outline my stance. I believe Cortese was given a budget to get Saints back to the Premier League; and that budget would be written off. He succeeded in that; questions over whether we got value for money are IMO irrelevant; we spent a lot of money, incurred a lot of debt, but got the desired job done. The next step is running the football club on an even keel. That has always been the stated aim; for the club to wash its own face, and not to be reliant upon debt or loans. We're not off to a good start on that one. I think the family funding has now been switched off so its hugely important we stabilise the club and asap stop being a massively loss-making company. I'm yet to see any signs of that heppening, and will continue to be cencerned until I do.
