Matt Lucas has let himself go.

MLG, what were your reports for Lee and Rodriguez? £25K per week, is that right?

Emenike Grant sounds like a proper Birkenhead lad.

Come on dune, you're better than this.

I think the bulk of their "punishment" will truly be seen as and when they come out of administration, and for the 2 or 3 years that follow that. If they get Chinny; well, that's obviously a massive kick in the nuts for any Pompey fan, the man is just a disease and will extract every last penny out of them that he can, to the detriment of the football club. Even a good proportion of us nutjobs seemingly don't wish Chinny on them, as its a surefire way for yet another administration 2 or 3 years down the line. If the Trust get in, then the finances simply don't stack up. Tricky Trev and his cohorts are busy filling out their timesheets so that the bulk of the £3M parachute payment figure recently received (previously budgetted for the Trust to run the club) will be used to pay PKF's ever-increasingly astronimical fees. The Trust's original operating budget was half decent without being exhorbitant; they've since had to find an extra £6M to cover the player deferral payments, so naturally the rest of the budget will suffer because of that. The Trust have already been on the radio saying they'll need addtional pledges and investment year on year to go forwards (a claim that was hastily backtracked upon when they considered the actual implication of that statement being out in the open), so there are clearly concerns with the level of funding, even if its being publicly denied. The Trust can't afford an academy in the longer term; the natives are getting restless with the poor footballing show on offer at Fortress Fatpipe; relegation to League 2 is looming large on the horizon (with or without the -10) and the crowds are falling away. And in the background Chinny still holds the keys to the charge over the ground and won't relinquish that without a fight in court, which will have to be funded by even more money that would originally have gone into the Trust's operating budget. The Trust are slowly gaining extra pledges day by day, of course, but Tricky Trev's £500 per hour demands much more of a financial investment that those few hardy souls diverting their life's savings into the Pompey life support machine are able to provide. Its a sad indictment for them, but life will be perilous for Pompey whether they get Chinny or the Trust. I still maintain that liquidation and a phoenix club would have proved to be the most sensible option in 5 year's time. The Trust's is an admirable effort, but ultimately flawed IMO.

Notwithstanding the complete muppets who were arrested straight after the game for goading the United fans with aeroplane gestures. Sadly there will always be a vocal minority of cockwombles who spoil it all for the rest of the decent football-going public.

Of course you are, Chinny; those purse strings are going to get loosened to the nth degree, aren't they?! The more I see Chinners bluster his way through the media and attempt to strongarm all and sundry into getting what he wants, the more I think he's fighting a losing battle. There'd be simply no need for him to engage in such a public slanging match were he in any position of power; so he's using these bullying tactics to try and engender a fear of huge litigation. I also genuinely think the Football League may for once take a strong stance with its owners and directors test. And how ironic that David Lumpitt may have a very active role in determining to what extent Chinners was involved in the last entrance into administration, which would be the final nail in the coffin for the loan shark. Two things are for sure after these latest revelations; there is still a huge way to go with all of this, and PKF and Trevor Birch are going to get continually richer because of it (all the while eating up the Trust's much needed cash funding).

 Flyer making up utter nonsense up to justify his assertion that QPR as a big as Newcastle and Everton! Its like reading a West London version of MLG.

Saints have never played QPR at St. Mary's in the Premier League.

Should we play "The Lads" against Sheff Wed
The Kraken replied to Miltonroader07's topic in The Saints
This question could in no way have been answered by the Sheffield Wednesday build up thread. -
The Man Utd game sold out of regular seats around 2 weeks prior to kick off. Corporate seats and corporate lounge seats, however, got nowhere near to selling out. If we can't sell out all seats against Man Utd then we probably won't sell out any games this season. And you kind of need to move QPR back to amongst the Wigans/Norwichs/Readings (not sure why those clubs are pluralised though).

If Cortese wants to achieve his dream of Champions League qualification I'd say we'll never be self-sufficient.

I don't think Halsey is going to pursue anything. He's simply referred those disgusting taunts to the police; they'll do the rest. All credit to him. The more these utter morons realise that you can't just type anything you want to on twitter with complete impunity and without recourse for your actions, the better IMO.

The debt write-off was also before the training ground investment, so we'll have to wait and see what happens with that debt when the latest accounts are published.

You have to ask if our second string XI is better than a side 4th from bottom of the Championship.

Why? Mike Ashley is a multi-millionaire who presides over a multinational, extremely successful company. His side also finished last season in a European qualification spot and are working on wiping out the extreme debts of past mis-management. Mike Ashley may be an idiot but his business record speaks for itself.

One PC asked me how I was, before the game. I was down at the ground rattling a bucket for the Saints Foundation at the time though, so I doubt they'll be compiling any dossiers on me for that. You never know, though.

Simon Peach was tweeting that Saints might be looking to recruit an out of contract defender (I assume a left back) which would kind of negate the thought of needing Butterfield as backup. I wonder if Ryan Dickson will get given a chance? I very much doubt it, but I expect him to play tomorrow and for NA to pay close to attention to whether he thinks he might step-up, at least in the short term. Like I say though, I find it extremely unlikely.

I'm sure there's plenty of others the book hasn't worked for, too. But nonetheless I think it is successful about changing one's perceptions of smoking. Even when I went back to smoking after 4 or 5 years off I felt I understood it a lot better, and that made it really easy to quit again in June (not had a smoke since and not missing it one little bit). The book costs less than a tenner so its at least worth a try, before having to resort to more costly remedies such as hypnotism.
-
If you truly want to quit (and it sounds like you do) then give this book a try. It's worked for millions of people, and worked for me. Really easy reading, its not a lecture by any means at all, but it completely and utterly changes the way you think about smoking. I used it when I quit smoking (after more than 10 years on the fags), I stayed completely clean for around 4 to 5 years. I lapsed for around 18 months or so but quit again in June, after reading parts of the book again. Even for those who have no intention of quitting its a really interesting read; as I say it doesn't seek to lecture you in any way at all (and even encourages those trying to quit that they should continue smoking while they're reading the book until they're ready to stop).

I think Gazza should get the nod just for his attempts at timewasting in the second half.

That's my point; i don't believe there is. I think it smacks of rushing to get something done without looking at the whole picture; almost as if its a guess as to what the new capacity should be. They could take a guess and chuck the capacity up to 50K and find we never, ever get near to selling that many tickets. Alternatively they could build up to, say, 38K and find that's not actually big enough and should have gone bigger. Quite simply, we don't know yet, and I don't think there's anything wrong in taking a wait and see approach over 2, 3, even more seasons. As I said, there's no reason the club can't get designs done for potential expansion scenarios and get planning permission and council buy in, and that can all start right now (I've previously said I'd be surprised if it isn't underway in some form or the other). That's what Reading have done, they've had their expansion plans approved for a few years now, so they are ready to commence actual works whenever they deem its worthwhile them doing so.

Poor old Frattoniser doesn't seem to have gotten the memo.
