Christ, they're absolutely desperate for some deflection from their own circus act down there, aren't they? And please don't tell me that SOSPompey is the actual SOS Pompey? I can't believe it would be tha actual SOS Pompey, surely? Because that would reflect pretty poorly on the sheer unprofessional nature of the happy band of renegades they have down there trying to "save" their own club.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-19848963 Whatever you think of the decision, the manner in which these people have been told their services are no longer required is completely unprofessional and direspectful.

What has Dig Dig got to do with it?

It would never have worked;the logical way to get there from the motorway (or even from town) would have had traffic coming down Britannia Road; with Saints games every other Saturday (presumably a snow-dome's busiest day) it would be a traffic nightmare. You can't really expect people to park in town and carry their skis, boots and ski gear for a 15-20 minute walk!

Unlike hookface, who'll probably have his cut off in Guantanamo.

I'm not sure we should be selling out every game. We certainly didn't do that before in the PL (except for one freak season following an 8th place finish, FA Cup final and entry into Europe when ST priority was everything). That said, it's the scale of the low attendances that I do find surprising. Villa brought a full load of fans yet we were some way short of capacity. Man Utd, regular seats sold out predictably early but the corporate areas were about half full. And now this Fulham game, which IMO will be well short of 30,000 despite the away side bringing down a sizeable contingent. Then again, talkof selling out in advance way ahead of every game was always nonsense; that said, after a 26,000 average in the Championship last year, I see anything under 30,000 as a bit of a disappointment. Perhaps we don't have a matchgoing fanbase as big as Everton's after all.....

That's what they've done at Hemel Hempstead ; they used to have a dry slope but converted it into a fridge. Would be great for Southampton to have one, being as its a 2 hour drive to the nearest one. Alas our backwards thinking planners will do the least they can to ensure it happens.

What a strange and angry rant.
-
I don't know why he cares actually; he so often says he doesn't actually support the national side.
-
No, he really hasn't Of course he played it conservative. He would rightly have been utterly rinsed by choosing a new batch of players he'd barely even seen and had playing for him. who are the amazing young players he's left out? Carroll was always going to get a call-up; it was either him or Crouch. I personally wouldn't ever pick Crouch for turning his back on England during the summer, so I've got no bother with that. Though I wouldn't have minded seeing one extra striker called to the 4 there now, and RL would be a prime candidate.

PompeyScot and Frattoniser never, ever, ever come on here for a look though. Well, except when they do, but that's different.
-
And my favourite at the moment, the value of Fratton Park So Ho claimed Fratton was worth £10M two years ago. Yet just two years down the line he constantly trots out the line that it's only worth the £2.75M the Trust are offering. Which one is it, Ho?! And he has the audacity to call himself "Banker"?!?!:lol:

A particular favourite of mine, about Saints Youth Academy... This was just as Oxlade-Chamberlain was coming through the ranks!:lol:
-
About Sulaiman al Fahim and his 2009 Pompey takeover... But then, a couple of months into the season, our hero has had a change of opinion somewhat... Ali al Faraj enters the fray...:lol: Poor old confused Ho.

It's a fair point, but there's also an argument to make that while we should of course prepare for World Cup 2014, we also should look at matches on a game by game, one off basis. So there should be a balance between creating a core squad of players for 2 years time and bringing in form players on a game by game basis who can provide a fresh impetus. Given the dearth of quality up front for England, I'm surprised crouch has been completely left aside. I guess its because he snubbed being a reserve; for that I'd actually tell him to do one and he'd never play for me again, but Roy seems a bit more forgiving, as he let Carrick back into the fold. Grant Holt isn't exactly in form this season so his bleating about not being called up is a bit unjustified; that said I think he has a point when he highlights the non-inclusion of Danny Graham and to a lesser extent Nathan Dyer. We dont have an embarrassment of riches up front for England as it is, and we're now relying on Rooney and Defoe plus Andy "played less than 90 minutes of league football all season" and Danny "4th choice striker for my club" Welbeck. Given the paucity of that attack, I think there's a case to be made to include Graham and even Rickie on a one-game basis. Roy is a little full on contradiction; on one hand he mentiones not calling up Crouch as he is similar to Carroll and they wouldn't play together. But he's also called up 3 left backs (Cole, Baines, Gibbs); strange.

Yes, you can. Have been able to all season.
-
I'm not surprised either....
-
Yep, we're being bankrolled and don't need to cheapen the product! Who cares if two thirds of the corporate boxes are empty, and the suites aren't even half full. SFC clearly know what they're doing FFS.
-
Indeed. The "experience" a couple of my mates had during the Aston Villa game was, well, frankly f*cking embarrassing.
-
I'll bet you a charity tenner it won't.
-
If you took that attitude literally you wouldn't ever mention the Trust at all!
-
A fact which the Trust are challenging with the FL by claiming that, while not in charge of the football club, Chinster still had control over CSI and therefore played a prt in putting the football club into administration. That would therefore exclude him from taking over; in principle, of course.
-
Against Villa pretty much the first thing he did was slip over preparing for an innoucuos defensive header. didn't notice him doing it again after that though.
-
Just checked, 2,450 tickets available.
-
As of yesterday there were still over 2,800 home seats still on sale.
