Stoke's kit for this year: With the white shorts and socks, its neither heavily red nor white, its an even balance. I really can't see us wearing white against them. Also, their photoshopping department is apparently even worse than ours....
-
As an aside, I actually disagree with you point about us wearing the white kit at Stoke and Sunderland. There is actually a bit more red on the kit than just the pinstripes; the collars and sleeves are red, and the Umbro badge and potentially also the sponsor is red (can't properly tell from the photoshopped-to-hell picture but it seems it might be). There may also be a red trim on the sides, again can't really tell from the pics. That all added up, I'd be surprised if refs would go with it. But with no plans intimated for a 3rd kit I guess we'll see. But I would have thought your idea of wearing red shorts/socks would just increase the problem.

At least I got the annoying part right.
-
I know. I was just being you for a minute. Annoying, isn't it?
-
Our away kit isn't all white. It has red pinstripes, and red trim on the collar (and seemingly also the sleeves).
-
So, where is this model bird that tweeted about the kit? We're not selling ladies' kits and she doesn't seem to be in the ladieswear section on the OS. Curious.
-
Close up of the home shirt. It's not one pinstripe, its two. The logo looks properly sh*t
-
White socks (according to their wiki page).
-
Without being pedantic and claiming that with the pinstripes its unique (it isn't, to all intents and purposes we have an all red kit)..... Just as a home kit; Liverpool obviously have it, and that's it in the PL. I'm pretty sure there are none in the Championship, all teams that wear red shirts have white or black shorts/socks. So 1 team in the top 2 divisions.
-
If anything, its the most original kit we've had in many years.
-
That's more like it....
-
Never liked Saints in white shorts with the home kit. I remember the uproar when Hoddle previously suggested we might go for it.
-
That sounds very Man Utd away to me.
-
Thoughts..... Personally I think that would have been much better.
-
Would have been interesting to see the reaction if we'd have had black shorts and white socks. I don't mind the shirt too much. The logo is a bit naff but the shirt itself is quite smart. Its just tying it with red shorts and socks which seems a bit weird.

Congratulations , you win the Runners up position in the "St. Dave from Sweden impressionism awards". Impressive adaptation of the familiar boring, long-winded nonsense. Good use of capitals. But nowhere near enough italics and underlining to win first prize. Better luck next time.
-
Everyone is complaining about the shirt. They're all forgetting how amazing the look will be with the red foam hands that all St. Mary's attendees will be wearing this season, adorned with the "Manchester Red Devils, we're coming for you" slogan.
-
I don't think I'd mind the red shirt so much, if it just had a hint of being "Saints" about it. Maybe black shorts and white socks might have done it. We'll never know now though. Away kit is really nice. But runied IMO by our "new" Liverpool home kit and the white one being the accompanying away number from that era.

Because it turned out to be right? And, because there was no picture associated with the "red and white pinstriped shirt" idea, so its a good plan to make your own mind up after actually seeing it. And because no-one had any idea of the shorts and socks, and therefore how the whole effect would look? If posting in an annoying way was shunned you'd have been gone shortly after you started, you intolerable bore. At least he got something right; a skill seemingly well beyong your fat-fingered grasp.

If that was a pre-requisite I don't think anything would get done on this forum.
-
And seriously, someone tell The9 how wonderful he is for getting it right so long ago. Its getting embarassing now watching him clamour for kudos.
-
Agreed, and he's relatively slim. Imagine if you tried to wedge your ample bulk inside that shirt. Urgh. I can understand now why you were previously so put off by it.
-
Does someone want to give The9 a pat on the back for being ITK; he's practically f*cking begging for it, you ungrateful dogs.

That's true Phil. I was saying the exact same thing earlier when I was down the pub with Barack Obama.
