Getting 1 cap with a sh*thouse team like Wolves is decent. It of course guarantees nothing; just plants a seed in his mind of what he can achieve in the PL. His England career is pretty much over if he stays in the NPC. £10M is a heavy price to pay, I'll agree that, but that's WOlves initial valuation so there's probably some movement possible with the price.

And there was me thinking that the 6-3 the following year had put that myth to bed! -
We can only wear the away shirt 8 times? So we wear the home shirt for 11 away games?
-
Yeah, I find it fairly likely that the PL have to sign off on the kits. But I'm wondering what the possibility it, in this case, to have a nominated 3rd kit for 1 or 2 games where the away kit is deemed inappropriate. Sunderland don't even release their home kit until next month. Have they shown the PL an advanced copy? Probably; but maybe not.
-
I guess we won't find out until December 29th. i don't even know what the rules are in the Premier League for having a third kit. The9??
-
Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Stoke's red & white top, white shorts and socks would be very similar at first glance to our white and red pinstripes, red shorts and red socks. Not the same, that would be stupid to say, but there's a definite potential for confusion which IMO will rule it out. And I thoroughly dislike Stoke so I want all 3 points from them!
-
You see, I can't. Sunderland maybe (with their probably black shorts and socks); but Stoke wear white shorts and socks. Our kit would be almost an inverse of their kit, and potentially very confusing to players at first glance.
-
So MLG is wrong then? Thanks for clearing that up.
-
Do you know this for a fact? That these two kits will be the only kits we use this season? That there's no possibility of a third kit being used? If so, I'll concede the point, if its confirmed that we will not and cannot use a third kit.
-
I've said before; I cannot see how we would be allowed to wear either the red or the white. There is a significant amount of red on the away kit, especially if the logo is red as it looks like it is. Also, as The9 says, Sunderland haven't released their kit yet, so if it turns out the back of the shirt is predominantly white it'll be out.
-
Because its nothing like our kit. Ours has red over it; in various places.
-
Is that really the best example you can come up with?!

Being as he's (fairly) recently made his debut for England I can't see any way in which he'll stay in the Championship.

What influence does a kit design have on the team's performance? -
God forbid football fans should talk about something not directly related to games but related to the club nonetheless during the close season when nothing else is happening.
-
Perhaps a bit of a strategic move by the club not to announce match ticket prices before new sale season tickets go out?

To be fair he's also played at the top level in Russia (Zenit, won the league with them) and Germany (VfB Stuttgart). So he has a lot of top level experience, if not being hugely prolific whilst there. The betting markets are open now, so this story reflects the state of play today. Doubtless if we went and signed £50M - £60M worth of players our price would change and a new article would be written. Same for any other team in the league. At this point in time the article is accurate enough. In any case, the bookies got it spectacularly wrong with the 3 promoted teams last year, so I wouldn't hang my hat on anything some random Ladbrokes flunky pens for their website, let alone in late July. -

But the betting market is open, so Ladbrokes have to react to that.
