This - and there are 40 games to go - and no League cup run to get in the way. And a January transfer window should we need it. Granted the sooner we click the better, but there's a butt load of time to make up the deficit. We started slowly but as long as we finish strongly, we'll be fine. Beating Boro would be a huge 3 points though, both in table terms and for confidence.

Too early but if we don't win, say, 3 of the next 6 to the end of October at the very least, I will probably change my mind. That's Boro, Sheffield United, Derby, Swansea, Bristol City and Blackburn. Clubs that pre-season we should have had expectations of beating and now they worry me.

Liverpool have back up players like Mamardashvilli, Bradley, Gomez, Endo, Robertson, Chiesa, Ngumoha and even Isak, who is looking to get his season started and we all know who that could be against. Whether or not they'll all play, but even those 8 could probably beat our best 11 right now. I'd play Jay instead of Fraser, Archer instead of Downs, Jelert instead of Manning and Quarshie instead of Jack... but that's why I'm not the manager.
