We've missed wee man.
-
Aribo been very vocal today and getting into some decent positions. Their defence looking iffy today. Need to score another if we want to win this I reckon.
-
Well good grief. We scored twice.
-
Let’s do this Saints
-
Onside too
-
Che!
-
Norwich for me, though I'm slightly biased as they're the wife's team, but since the start of 2024 they've been excellent with 30 points from 14 games. I wonder if finishing 4th would be better than somehow finishing 3rd.
-
Yeah but it's Liverpool, they were probably checking each and every single camera angle in the ground to try to find one that shows he was onside so they can give the bestest team an extra goal.
-
Baz, KWP, THB, Bednarek, Bree, Smallbone, Downes, SA, Brooks, AA, Fraser please - I know harsh on Stephens but that is probably our best side.
-
Whilst I agree with not playing players out of position, we're not exactly getting much from the players that naturally play in that position in Adams and Mara. If it wasn't such a key point in the season I'd say giving Aribo a shot up top would be worth a try, but we are at a crucial point and Adams is as good as we've got... ...although while I prefer AA out wide, perhaps having him centrally with Brooks on the right is the way to go forwards. At least AA can finish.
-
Yes not mathmatically out of it yet due to the games in hand and having to play the top 3 but it does seem so unlikely that if I were to say I'd get a tattoo of Russ on my bum should we go up automatically, then I'd be pretty sure I'd have no tattoo of Russ on my bum come May.

A fit and firing Stewart and we would have probably got autos. It was the right signing but at the wrong time. He was never going to be fit for ages after 8 months out and any player out that long can suffer ongoing issues afterwards (as he has shown) so it was a huge gamble that didn't pay off. And that's just one problem. The other problem was not bringing in a striker in the January window based on a small patch of reasonable form from Che who always seems to play up when a window approaches, and putting faith in Mara.
-
It surprises me that Prem teams still want him. He's not a finisher. He's Ok as a second striker but not leading the line on his own and we only play with 1 striker. Good luck to Wolves if they have won the race for him. We need a refresh in attack in the summer anyway, AA aside (who at times has looked jaded and is better out wide) we have a long term injured striker in Ross, Che who is a poor finisher, and a striker who has shown limited potential in Mara. Even Dom Ballard is crocked long term. We need at least one, if not two, new strikers in the summer.
-
Missing out on autos - I wasn't referring to the play-offs there.
-
Tis Ok, Mara and Ballard will fire us to promotion...
-
Perhaps - anyway I think Leeds are Champions - been saying it all season they look the best team and easily have the best attack. If anyone drops out it'll be Leicester and right now I think I'd play Leicester over Ipswich - a quick look at the Leicester forum shows they are a side in trouble and they all want Enzo gone. Besides, on our day, we can beat anyone - it's just whether we have our day or not and as we'd probably finish 4th, we'll only meet Leicester/Leeds/Ipswich in the final at Wembley (assuming we beat 5th place over two legs).
-
At this point I'm hoping Ipswich are one of the automatically promoted sides - shot straight through the Championship like we did last time we were here and it would mean one of Leicester or Leeds miss out.
-
Be Saintsy if we beat Ipswich, Leicester and Leeds and lost to the rest.
-
Autos or not, with the big 3 left to play it would be fun to annoy them with our eye-popping brand of football.
-
I'd say winning the play-offs was bare minimum but even that looks unlikely when we can't finish teams off. Either way we needed to get promoted this season and it's looking more and more like we won't.
-
Did Sekou make love with a plug socket?
-
That's autos done with. Too many missed chances.
-
Well shit.
-
Baz not looking comfortable there. Will's chance was tricky though.
-
Story of the season - miss a load of chances and kiss the 3 points goodbye. Thankfully we have a strong bench...
