I started trying to make a team of the two season's players and it got difficult. The best I came up with was: Davis (No brainer) KWP (No brainer) Fonte (No brainer) Hooijveld/THB/Bednarek (OK that's a tricky one, Hooijveld was well suited to the nPC. THB is going to be England material and Bednarek is a Polish International. I'd possibly rather have Hooiveld for the art of simple defending and the odd goal he got that won us points). Fox (Positionally as bad as Manning but with better assists) Morgan (No brainer) Hammond/Cork/Downes (tough one) Lallana (No Brainer) AA (No brainer) Lambert (No brainer) Guly (Because it's Guly!)

I do think we will be play off contenders longer term rather like fading away like we did in the 00's after our Derby play off defeat, but you're right otherwise - will replace outgoings like KWP, Downes, THB etc with like for like? Hell no, I can't see it. We may get Fraser on a permanent which would be good but we need to use the loan market as well, if not better, than we did this season. We can't rely on permanent signings coming good as long as the current decision makers are in charge (although Wilcox's exit may help).

Hopefully we can get the idea of Autos out of our heads now (it ain't happening) and give some of the younger lads a run out. SAA, Dibling, Meghoma - I can't see us dropping out the play off spots so why not give the youth a bit of a run out?

With autos all but gone I'm almost hoping Leeds win tonight now so Hull don't creep back into play off contention.

By God if we do somehow go up via play-offs we will get ripped to shreds next season.
