My dislike for them seemed to be in inverse proportions to the amount of love the press showed. This season he seemingly has to share the love with Jose, Pep and Conte. Then Koeman has a bit as does Poch, but they are well behind in the love race.

it is rather sad that the money one's club spends turns people into this sort of chap, as if it was his own money. I do recall a Liverpool supporter (I think he said he was in his 60s) who came on the board and was almost apologetic that Liverpool were signing all our players as it demonstrated what was wrong with the PL, ie the money, and those with the most could usually trample all over the smaller clubs what with stitching up what ever player they wanted. That to me is the worst thing. The stitching up and turning the player's head which tends to have a knock on effect throughout the squad. Of course players want to generally go to bigger clubs for more pay (except our young Dane at this current point of his career) but what Liverpool try to do is financial bullying with their tapping up. Spurs are the same. I guess it's dog eat dog, but not hugely attractive. Having said that I am not sure that United acted in the same manner over the transfers of Shaw and Morgan, although maybe that is a little naive of me.

Is that to do with Hillsborough and the Sun's reporting of what (didn't) happen?
-
Maybe just wait and see, but I guess even the fact that they are considering it.......! If they do sign him, then I would agree with you. Happier the way we go about things (that is until we start putting out bids of £30m)
-
we do things differently to others in PL and therefore it can't possibly be the right way to do it, and we are doomed to fail. It's a bit like Lyon isn't it? Everyone seems to be for sale if the right price is met.
-
Apparently Liverpool FC are a little mystified where this has come from, and that his position in the team is highly valued and he hasn't been offered to anyone. Well that's according to the Liverpool Echo.
-
Wonder if RK will be back in for him? That surely would speak volumes about how he is seen.
-
It seems that that might well be our reputation. Bit of a double edged sword as we are seen as a stepping stone and when the step is taken, it seems to cause a lot of angst for many. However, this chap is showing a level of pragmatism that is sorely lacking, let alone from someone his age.
-
I'd probably agree but doubt my Mrs cares

In this day and age, testimonials seem to be ever more rare. Without wanting to demean Kelvin's time/achievement with us, I would not begrudge José one, even if he hasn't been here 10 years.
-
if I am not mistaken, it will be tax free as well.
-
Would he get game time at Pool? I suspect we are seen very much as a stepping stone so plenty of time for a young player to build a reputation with us to get that move.
-
Is that the Mane replacement?

Cos the wife has dragged me off to foreign climes and it is too hot for my fair skin while she tries to frazzle herself. 35c it OK in the shade out of the sun's rays. Plus, the place we are staying at seems to have a strange idea what a curtain is supposed to be for!! But as I said, not that its needed, everyone is of course entitled to their own opinions. But basing it on the fact that the board/club don't know what they are doing, makes the conjecture to be completely baseless given the past 7 years of work that they have done. Or are we to believe that the board have suddenly completely lost it, which if so, would lend much more credence to those opinions
-
As we have seen, many of our players leave us having done really well that they earn the big money, big club transfer but do not do that well once they've gone. Maybe this guy will thrive here, away from big club Bayern and the expectation (even poss when on loan).

http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/687977/Liverpool-transfer-news-Nathaniel-Clyne-Barcelona-Dani-Alves-Premier-League-gossip-rumours I know it's the Express, but they seem to have taken from the Times.
-
What's this about Clyne being unhappy at Liverpool and them offering him to Barca, who don't want him?
-
Don't be stupid. We're not signing anyone more as we are relying on two injured forwards and the kids and are certain to be relegated before the Euros have finished, before the transfer window has closed (which obviously means more players leaving) and before we have kicked a ball.
-
if we are to get another RB, could Cedric be played on the wing? He certainly has the pace, might (if you listen to some) not be good at defending. Crosses a little erratic, but maybe his better position would be one involving less defending.
-
https://twitter.com/sippenator101 you can tweet him your opinion, but anyone labelling themselves the "Sippenator" probably isn't worth worrying about.

I am afraid that most people would disagree that Villa had a board and owner that acted in a professional manner. Maybe that is harsh on the board as they took instruction from the owner. As for the board appointing one good manager, which one are you starting with? Adkins?
-
Of course. But people are basing their opinions on the fact that the board don't know what they are doing. What is the point of having an opinion based on erroneous preconceptions added to some bizarre assumptions that people have. But yes, of course people are entitled to those as well, but it is really tedious when amateurs slag off professionals in their field when all past evidence of said examples of them not knowing what they are doing has been so far wide of the mark, that is makes continued slagging off very tiresome. Would be far better to stick to facts rather than indulge in fantasy.

Noric we are all still supporters of SFC, well as least I think we are. But you and others are continually questioning the professional competence of the club and its employees, and over the past 5 or so years, there just isn't any evidence that the club have done a bad job. Now I suspect we aren't going to improve this year, but I do hope we are not going to be inundated by naysayers saying "I told you so".
-
No Nordic it is people like you who think the club don't know what they are doing. If you are such an expert, why not give up your job and go and work for Saints?
