  1. I think our stated position was that the loan deal would not be cancelled, but that Inter couldn't just make alternative arrangements without involving us, or rather, without our say so. I guess that we have to try and recoup something and not do a Man Utd on Zaha where I think that they have lost £11m. Not sure that the loan fees were very high, but would be interested to know how much he is costing us (excluding wages). Consensus is that initially was £12.8m but we can deduct 2 loan fees - anyone know what they were?
  2. Ah ha. Good one. I guess it was the Temp Transfer > Permanent that is the important bit.
  3. You sure that it is permitted under the rules, as I was led to believe that it was strictly against the rules.
  4. Wasn't a price agreed pre-loan? Not sure how these options to buy work. Is it a bargain? I find fees so difficult to keep track of that I don't know what's what. Looking at B'mouth offering £5m for an 18yo from Brum, suggests that it is.
  5. OK, it's sad for it to happen to a player who has done so much for us, but he must have known what he was letting himself in for. But to end at Villa - God how desperate would that be? And then, he doesn't have to leave. What's he got, a 2 year deal?
  6. quite an entertaining 2nd half
  7. Have to wonder whether Seagar is much more realistic in the 1st XI than Gallagher. Bloody good goal.
  8. Our U21 aren't doing very well at 5-0 after 35 mins
  9. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/12691/9695644/transfer-news-brown-ideye-set-to-quit-west-brom-for-qatar West Brom losing £6.2m on their record signing.
  10. Bet Liverpool will make a profit if he does go, which will **** me off. Don't know why, but it will.
  11. Not going to be appealed
  12. Ah ha, so Twitter does have some use!
  13. I think it isn't as simple as that. A buying club would still have us over a barrel unless there were at least 2 clubs willing to buy him, and that seems a little optimistic. And then to complicate it even more, Mr Osvaldo seems rather determined to only go where he wants to go. So, if no one wants him, we have to take him back as he is contracted to us. If he refuses, then that might be good as we could sue him for breach of contract.
  14. But any news on when the Toby, Vic and Morgan are back on games?
  15. TBH, when he leaves us, I would far rather he not play in PL and that he does go abroad. But, I imagine that it will come down to wages more than anything else. Sure London has it's attractions, but so does Rome. Can Roma match Arsenal on wages though? Can they really afford £100k+ pw? Maybe they can. De Rossi is their current highest earner on €6.5m a year (supposedly), which if you take £1:€1.25 (rather than the current rate) then that would be £100k pw. Tax rate in Italy is a bit less with a top rate of 43% rather than 45%, although there is a regional and municipal tax to add so pretty much the same.
  16. Depends....as things stand, we've still got more than a good chance of finishing in CL positions. If we didn't, and being safe, I would definitely advocate bedding in what we already have. I am not sure about others, but he didn't look like he had a killer touch last season. But what do I know? The Club were happy to offer him a contract so obviously see/know more than I do.
  17. What, you saying Wenger tapped him up?? I'm truly shocked.
  18. Anyone know how everyone is progressing? http://www.physioroom.com/news/english_premier_league/epl_injury_table.php Seems we are top of the league with the number of injuries, but we know that Gallagher is back up and running so not sure how accurate this is? Are Toby, Vic and Morgan due back for QPR?
  19. When we signed Mané I am sure that people were saying he could play either as 9, 10 or 11. We know he can do 9 & 11, but couldn't he step in as a 10?
  20. Agree with this. Was saying to my neighbour that I thought he offered something different to Cork. Just a shame that he is only 5'6 but guess that that never stopped Scholes, but as a defensive midfielder it might be preferable to be taller. But having said that, he really did not look out of place what so ever.
  21. Ha ha. Love it. Would have liked him here, but Sociadad over Liverpool/Spurs would make me smile.
  22. Firstly, I would prefer not to go and raid Feyenoord for all their best players. It's not nice to use our financial advantage. I know it's naive, that Feyenoord might rely on transfers and that if we don't do it, someone else will but it's not great "abusing" one's past there. Secondly, it might seem bad that RK has voiced what he has. But, it's been out in the open for a fair while now, and wasn't RK only speaking about it yesterday? Or have I missed something earlier? While that doesn't excuse things (as agree he should keep his counsel) who actually released this in the first place? I imagine that it is the typical agent at work, looking for a pay day. But why people expect anyone to behave properly any more is a bit of a mystery. If it's not a manager, it's the agent. If not the agent, it's the player. The favourite one is of course leaking stories to the press, which can of course be easily deniable. Liverpool and Ings is a classic one. Clyne - Man U. Morgan - Arsenal. Football is a ****ty business with very few morals. We all know that there is far too much money involved for gentlemanly behaviour to prevail.

  24. Obviously!
  25. Nice to see 5 English players starting and a 6th coming on off the bench.
