  1. When was it offered to him? What did it contain and how does it match up to what Swansea are offering?
  2. Cork to play against us on Sunday?
  3. 88th
  4. Ah ha. Ta. Never understood that one. Seems a bit silly.
  5. OMG - what a chance
  6. I thought away goals counted but apparently not and ET beckons. At least they've ****ing stopped singing "Oh When the Spurs"
  7. Shop window for other clubs? But Benfica always seem to have release clauses at astronomical levels.
  8. Come on guys, if you are going to post a link to this, please attach a youtube one as well.
  9. This is what Platini got all excited about with Ribery, although noted that he was retiring: http://metro.co.uk/2014/09/07/michel-platini-threatens-franck-ribery-with-bayern-munich-ban-over-france-international-retirement-4859936/ I can see Senegal's POV on this as it is taking the Mick big time, and I sort of have to side with Platini. I just wonder (in a rhetorical manner) whether he will spring into action in this case.
  10. Yup, it's head to head, although academic now. Group D tomorrow is the interesting one. They've all been draws so far.
  11. Lose after ET or penalties. Tire them both out. L'pool have got FA Cup replay and Europa league coming up in the next few weeks.
  12. I think now Ghana are 2-1 up and Senegal 2-0 down is might all be over for the Senegalese.
  13. Ghana hit the post http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/30659974
  14. SA 1-1 now So Ghana equal with Senegal for 2= place. Same GD as well.
  15. Jesse - welcome. Are you Dutch?
  16. That may be so, but it is more about the economics of things and whether you cash in now to recoup something, or let him go. He may well now want to go, and leave on a free. I wouldn't blame him and to a certain extent it serves the club right for leaving contract talks for so long. I know with a new manager it is tricky (but new managers are hardly a rarity in football), and I think he should have been offered a contract over the summer.
  17. As it is this season, newbies - Targett, Reed, Hesketh, Seagar. Have I missed anyone?
  18. Yup, it would be nice to bring the academy through wholescale. But...no one has been signed yet and frankly I don't really give a **** any more if all that happens is that they bugger off after having played 22 PL games. It was an interesting journey down and back up again, but now that we are where we are, my naivety has sadly gone to be replaced by a realism and intense dislike for the way things are. Still, I guess I'll be renewing the ST without hesitation.
  19. Just wait till when they are going to be born this century! Depressing as it really shows ones age.
  20. Does that mean Cork is to be sold? http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/jack-cork-handed-48-hour-contract-5036326
  21. I am presuming that this is a joke. Would rather have Osvaldo than Jones after his behaviour to get his move.
  22. Possibly, but so be it. You can't run a club our size by paying all the players 6 figure weekly salaries. We can though compete with other clubs outside of the top lot, although how Sunderland & QPR can "afford" £80/100k weekly wages is anyone's guess.
  23. Not sure that that is actually the case. Players seem to be able to separate who they support and who employs them. You and I, if we were to play football, have the romantic notion of only playing for the club we support and the idea of pulling on another shirt, especially of a club we dislike, is totally alien. But for £10-20k a week more, I am sure that I could be prepared to swallow my pride for a bit.
  24. OMG - Irene is back. You must be sad, bitter and twisted to still be coming back here with your bleeding heart attitude.
  25. But you could say that about Man Utd as well. They have just shelled out £150m this last window (or £200m in the last year), haven't really done anything so are now talking about spending another £150-200m. Spuds and Pool have both spent, say, £100m and can't just repeat the same without selling some first.
