No, I am not sure it is possible. He is on a season long loan, and we can insist that Inter see it out.
-
Well, fortunately we are a slightly better situation financially than we once were (not that I am advocating letting players go for free) and might have to take a hit. IF no one took him, I suspect that we would be within our rights to cancel his contract. I'm not one for suing players (and not sure whether there would be grounds anyway).

He's a terrier. And nice to see him get well stuck into tackles. Was surprised that he got subbed, although given the possession we had, maybe understandable (and as others say, hindsight...).

Very good CB Anyway, I must go and get lunch ready and then off to SMS to see who was right between Lawro and the pop star (still don't get the Death Wish connection).

That's because, as has been pointed out, I am now like my father used to be ie have got to a certain age, where when people try and be condescending, patronising or anything else, it really doesn't register any more. But thank you old boy for your concern.

I know - isn't it great? (Although my father wouldn't know who Morrisey is/was).

What a terribly good idea CB - I wonder why I didn't think of that myself? So, many thanks for that.

Because really, I have no interest in the lives of pop stars, TV chefs, football players, people living in a house full of cameras, reality show actors [sic] from Chelsea, Essex, Newcastle or anywhere else or anyone else of that ilk. I was going to add people who take their kit off, but if they are attractive enough, then I might have a passing interest. I was with the kids and sat through it. Started off OK, but by the end I agree with you. Genius - I'm sure your reasoning as to why he is will be most interesting. I guess it won't have much to do was his sagaciousness so I might just take you up on that and pop over to the Arts Forum, which I think I might never have visited.

Love the modern day way of tapping up a player. If he has £60m, then £25-30m would be fine by me.

Yes - but still that doesn't tell me who Mark Ronson is. Problem with life these days, is that too many people are infatuated by people who really don't do very much and get called "celebrities". But I followed the link on Ask Lawro and I see why I have never heard of him. I haven't taken any notice of the Top 40 for about 25 years now.

They've got it on their transfer centre page @ 8:48 http://www1.skysports.com/transfer-centre/

The ones with Charles Bronson? No idea what the connection with this Ronson is (or is it too early to see a joke in there?)
-
Never heard of Mark Ronson.

Or put it another way.....I suppose he could see out his contract and go to Swansea on a free after the season. It won't make a difference to Swansea as I can't see them getting relegated. So JC could stick with us, get Swansea to pay him another £1-2m and sign for them in 5 months time.
-
£3m for a maximum of 16 more games, which in reality he wouldn't play all of them, seems quite a good deal seeing that he can leave for nothing at the end of June.
-
Seen a figure of £3m being bandied about.
-
I would guess his market value with 3 years or so of a contract would be about £6m. Would it be more than £2m?

Saints Sign Filip Djuricic on loan from Benfica
angelman replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
I get the feeling he might be a stalking horse. -
Why? He was asked whether he was going to sign, so that the club could (try to) sell him and recoup some money if he wasn't going to sign. Or at least that is the presumption. Can't see anything wrong in that. What people seem to have forgotten in all of this, is what Jack Cork actually wants, and instead seem to think what SFC want is the most important thing. People, myself included, have no idea what has been going on regarding his contract, yet seem to be more than happy to pontificate about it. Players are now discussed in terms of the cost over their entire contract. We apparently were going to offer £40kpw for (at a guess) 4 years = £8.32m. Let's say his market value would be £5m (if with longish contract) that would effectively make his value a total of £13.32m over 4 years with wages. So say Swansea get him for nothing, pay him £10m over 4 years, they are getting "value for money" and he is getting £48k pw. Of course very simplistic and not sure that's a terribly good explanation, but I hope it makes sense.
-
I guess if Liverpool were to pay us £5m to take him back, it would be a little churlish to refuse.

I think that the operative word in your post is "seem".

Problem with Reed's progress is that this season we find ourselves in a position where there is an awful awful lot to be gained/lost. This time last season, I think that we were safe and "obviously" were going to finish 6th-12th which means that there was little to play for for a large part of the season, so youngsters could be brought through.
