  1. It may have been a good goal, but one moment doesn't really paper over the cracks of the insipid hour that preceded it.
  2. If we don't lose, I imagine Hodgson will come out and say that he was content . And then we ****ing score
  3. I think Rickie is on the bench. But really, while we criticise Woy for playing Milner when he hardly gets a game at City, the same should really apply to Rickie. But who should be in the squad???
  4. Is Froome doing well?
  5. Passes that are too short?

    SUI vs ENG

Anyone else watching this and thinking how boring it really is?? And Delph, how long before he gets a second yellow?
  7. OK - he didn't want to be a **** by forcing through a move, but sure, fine, yup, I (as a fan) am more than happy that he agreed terms with another club. F***ing disingenuous tosser. Me thinks matey boy doesn't know the meaning of "honourable".
  8. Players (and this might be unfair on some as it is a generalisation) think that they are bigger than the club, club and supporters know that the club is bigger than the player.
  9. I would agree that it isn't the most exciting of signings and was expensive, but given Hull's replacement is more expensive, then not too bad. (I mean more expensive as it was £10m for 3 years, compared to £12m for 4 - splitting hairs I know...!!) There really wasn't a great deal of choice. I always said that PL experience seemed to have been a big factor and I was questioned by many as to why it was. RK later came out and said that it was one of the factors, so who would you want, one whose wages were affordable and who actually wanted to come here. There actually isn't a great deal of choice and no one has really come up with a viable/better alternative. [Out of interest, would you have preferred Hernandez who Hull signed or Long?] As it is, I like steak and the odd Big Mac (although really, a Whopper is so much better). And offal, well liver and kidney yes, but tripe, won't touch that.
  10. I do agree with this. I enjoyed last season a lot, but to say that MP is the only good manager that we will ever have and that future incumbents will not be able to do a decent job (as good or better) is just ridiculous. Wasn't it JWP who said that the players felt fresher in games this season? It's all well and good being very fit, but you have to leave players with some energy to play. Felix Magath often has this levelled at him, and the players are so dog tired that they can't play 90 minutes without lagging. But I am not sure that we were visibly tiring towards the end of games last season. Maybe MP is feeling the pressure to succeed and has ramped things up a notch.
  11. What do you mean soon!? I think James Milner already personifies the problem. And in the near future, it will be interesting to see how many of the English defenders actually play for their club (or eing more specific, how many of the Man U contingent of the England team play for their club team)
  12. LOL - was in the bath on my mobile!!!! Google reveals all: https://www.google.co.uk/search?sourceid=chrome-psyapi2&ion=1&espv=&ie=UTF-8&q=Jean-Louis%20Dupont%20financial%20fair%20play heard it on the radio today (or yesterday).
  13. not a fact, just a supposition. 8 HG players needed x6 big teams.... I presumed that they would buy good players in case they were actually needed!! Then look at the number who start week in week out....So it might be complete rubbish. In fairness, Liverpool and Arsenal have a fair few HG players, but look at SRL. A bench player and now being talked about as a replacement for Sturridge tomorrow.
  14. Without wanting to derail the thread, what about penalties? As for the OP, Fonte should have sorted it. I am sure RK will as he seems not to take any rubbish. As Willie says, maybe it's all new, but it should have been agreed and players should respect each others' abilities.
  15. Shows how silly football has become. As clubs just bought the best foreigners, these rules get brought in. Now it seems that the richest clubs can buy the best foreign and domestic players, with the foreign ones getting preference. So the top 6 have potentially the best 50 or so home grown players with half of them warming the bench.....not what was intended. I note that the lawyer who did Bosman is now challenging FFP.
  16. I was not questioning whether they were truthful or not.
  17. Irene, you come across as either being him or very close to him, so therefore I have to say that your posts are somewhat disingenuous and all you have tried to do is shït stir.
  18. Cole available on a free!! Nothing in life is free.
  19. I agree we should be looking for a replacement, not least as he may be gone or may never recover. To that end I think we are very short, with Mayuka and Gallagher not being good enough. Mane can apparently play up front as well as on the wings. Your sentence about only selling when we have a better replacement is wholly wrong. if there is a better player out there, he would be signed up already. And this home grown also affects us as much as the big boys. Like FFP we are at a disadvantage in that we cannot compete on wages, so as soon as the cheque book is waved, we are done for.
  20. I've brought this up in the past, esp after the last game of the season where it seemed more of a problem than any other game. Him getting well up and into the corners and being forced to put it onto his right foot to cross, but instead used the outside of his left with not very good results. It was pointed out that there are some pretty decent players who could only use one foot....Bale? (or has he learnt to use both now?)
  21. Everton @ SMS last season, and there was one who clearly was better than the other (that day).
  22. Found it a bit sad that Shaw had no idea who Tony Adams was.
  23. Ings/Long - maybe someone got confused between the two.
  24. Did you include the fee for MP and the back room staff? Wasn't it £2m for MP and a total of £6m for the whole lot?
  25. I doubt those type of contracts exist. It would be extremely foolish of the club to do it as it would expose them to all sorts of problems, and I am not sure that any club is that foolish to do that. As it is "Irene", pray tell how you know what is in Forster's contract?
