Not sure about Osvaldo's wages. Last season's loan, we didn't pay anything. I imagine that having done it once, we would do it again. And if we did have to pick up his £50k a week wages (or maybe it was more), then it would be better to just write that off the sale price and bin him.

Toby Alderweireld Signs on Season Loan - Official
angelman replied to Aziz Yebda's topic in The Saints
Why not? People (often with Saint in their name) are so negative? What happens if RK works a bit of magic and we actually do quite well? -
Who said he wasn't good enough for us?
-
Long, £12m, 4 year contract Hernandez, £9.5m, 3 year contract. Not sure it is an upgrade at all, and as pointed out, his goals per game is hardly better than Long's PREMIER LEAGUE one. I think it might be a case, like many people have already said, that people are being bamboozled by the overseas aspect of it
-
True, and not totally necessary from the club to phrase it in that way.
-
Best put a higher price on for Utd. £40m.
-
I think you are being unfair here on Simon Jones. He and Ashton take it in turns to write something about Saints. I might be a little touchy but I can't recall a positive article since the Chief Exec (or whatever title he gave himself) decided he was going to be off. Maybe they will write something positive about us one day.

Aldeweireld - how do you pronounce his name? -
Makes a lot more sense than JRod. Utd said he wouldn't go to any competitor. If I was facetious, I would ask who their competitors are? Having said that, Utd are aiming for top 4, so maybe they don't consider Spurs to be their competitors.
-
SOG - don't rise. You surely know better.
-
Ashton trying hard.... Were the board at the team hotel??? Sounds a bit strange if they were.
-
What would people rather hear...... "We aim to finish mid table and consolidate ourselves as a mid table club, as we are content to pick up a nice cheque from the TV companies" or "We aim for Champions League within 3 years"? It may not be very realistic, but if you aim too low, then you probably should go and manage another team. RK obviously believes in his own abilities, and if he does pull it off, then....well the world will be his oyster.

talksport started with a £12m figure then went to £18m and now at £25m. If paying £200k a week, that's £10m straight up. And now they say a £6m fee with option to buy.
-
Vlaar to Arsenal is being mentioned.
-
I guess they are, and I agree with the rest. Sure they got £5m in 8 months. What is interesting though is the press reaction to this. Why didn't they mention the £12m profit we made in a year on Lovren? Lovren in demand and a bit of a scarce resource? Probably, but then we obviously/probably thought the same about Long and what he has to offer. Which comes back to who Hull will (or won't) sign.
-
Can't believe anyone would take the risk on JRod before he has played a few games. I'm not a doctor, but ACL's have a tendency to pop again, however good his rehab seems to be going.
-
Would like some English - so Redmond for me.
-
Transfer fees are largely irrelevant by themselves, since Bosman. That is before you take into account that he wouldn't come here. Long - £12m, 4 year deal at (say) £40k per week = total £20.320m Remy - £10.5m, 4 year deal at (say) £100k a week = total £31.3m Then as I have constantly said, it might also be good to judge his signing by who Hull get in to replace him.
-
**** me - I thought we had done this to death when he signed.

**** me the transfer window is such a **** poor way of doing business. -
Hernandez from Man Utd to Real on loan???
-
Maybe you should be clear about things before you make assumptions that are incorrect and cast aspersions. If you read the post again it is more than clear that a) no particular manager was being referred to as a ****, it was more generic, and b) my post and the one I was responding to were not belittling Hughes.
-
What are you on about? I can't recall referring to Hughes. I responded to a post that was referring to Hughes, but I wasn't. Are you patronising the wrong person? If you are going to be a bell end, best to get the right person.
-
CB, I thought your posts seemed to be OK, but frankly, you just come across as a patronising knob.
-
There's a difference between a manager losing players because he has no idea what he is doing and being a ****, and one who knows what he is doing and said players not fitting his plans. You can't please all the people all of the time.
