  1. Absolutely. Nothing wrong in my eyes with having a bit of a wobble and then MTFU. But some are so pessimistic it is beyond boring.
  2. As a total aside, I always find the nationalities playing, compared to today, somewhat fascinating.
  3. I listened on the radio having picked my father up from Heathrow and while the car broke down every 15-20 miles.
  4. It should be remembered that the Feyernoord players gave him a right royal send off after his last game with them (when they knew he was off). His man management skills there seemed to be pretty good. Still too early to say whether he will be better than MP, but I like what I see so far. Not least because he is clean shaven, smiles and actually talks sense rather than some complete BS that so many managers speak.
  5. STFU Shroppie you tool. Is that OK?
  6. I am not sure about Rojo. Work permit a big problem. 3rd party ownership has presumably been sorted.

    Are you a dude?
  8. You make your own mind up.
  9. love threads like this one. It shows who is pragmatic and who is a hysterical drama queen.
  10. How can a loanee leaving be part of a firesale?
  11. What...!! You weren't working Derby Road when a Lambo passed???
  12. No, and I wish people would start judging the deal by who Hull bring in as a replacement. Who have they signed? A failed £12m bid for Rhodes is it so far. Or was it £10m for the Watford kid. Or £10m for that Hernandez from Palermo who doesn't have a record much better than Long, and not in the PL. And then transfer fees are only part of the overall package. If people are going to go on about various transfer fees, then why not compare to the fee for Sagna.
  13. Alt 0239
  14. Remy to Chelsea for £8m (and God know's what wage).
  15. Some posters on here are really strange. Why is it that the club is a laughing stock by admitting that things hadn't worked out? To me, while it might not be an ideal situation, far better for all parties to do this, than let him fester away in the background. So it was a mistake - not a major one, and one that has been resolved pretty quickly. So why exactly is the club a laughing stock? Would be rather naive to think that all transfers took place without any hitches. And the reaction to someone leaving who has never played for us, and by sounds of it, never would, is hysterical. Would people have preferred him to sit on the bench for the season and never play just so the club could pretend that a slight misjudgement hadn't been made or for the club to take the pragmatic path?
  16. I would have thought it impossible to know whether the rest of the group thought he was a **** until he arrived. ****ishness is not something the scouts usually measure.
  17. The truth as you see it. “Whoever undertakes to set himself up as a judge of Truth and Knowledge is shipwrecked by the laughter of the gods."
  18. Charlie, chill out dude. Your constant negativity is tedious.
  19. It seems that MP did last season, so maybe RK did as well.
  20. Good job it was a loan with view to a permanent and not a permanent straight off. Well done Les for being prudent.
  21. Well the yellow flower on the rapeseed disappeared 2 months ago (or even longer), but I stand to be corrected if you can find me a yellow field of rape. Actually, find me a field of rape that hasn't been harvested. We harvested all of ours about 3-4 weeks ago.
  22. Another player who is playing hard ball with their club. About time clubs stood together but that's about as likely as pigs flying.
  23. But most that we get WPs don't have a criminal case hanging over them. As posted earlier, if their crime would fetch a sentence in this country of 12 months or more (ie if someone did what he did here in this country), then chances are that they will be refused a WP.
  24. No - the majority of CLUBS in the particular competition. As a slight aside, it was interesting listening to both Adrian Durham and Colin Murray who both criticised the CL for it's predictability and the way it supported and favoured a few clubs by the draw. Martin Samuel wrote a similar piece. As for your bit about "people you know all say they hate it" but watch it, I don't care what people think about the CL and whether they say they hate it but watch it. What I find sadder is people's attitude to domestic football. For example, I know someone who had a very close connection with Saints, but now never goes. Not because of a dislike of Saints or that they support another team, but because football has lost it's gloss and they have just given up with football. There is the occasional thread on here, and there are a fair number of posters who feel the same way. Does it matter? Not in the slightest, so long as demand in Guangzhou, Chongqing and the such is there, that more than makes up for it. The English supporter really is only there to fill the ground - while that does bring some money in, it is important for the atmosphere for the television cameras. There's no right and wrong in this. As I say, it comes down to personal feelings and what you want from football. Many are more than happy with how things are, many aren't.
  25. I am surprised by Hodgson, not least because he comes across as being disloyal towards the player (at least in my eyes) while toadying to one of the big clubs that he will choose his players from. I wouldn't get too wound up. Players like Shaw didn't really have a career before they made the big move, or rather, it was inconsequential. But his body is still going through changes. There was a massive difference between his physique of the 12/13 season and the 13/14 season. Who knows what will happen in the future - maybe as his body develops, he will never be able to keep the weigh under control, whether that be for physical reasons or dietary. Of the two - Shaw and Chambers - I would put my money on Chambers to have the better career. I just hope for his sake, and I know he made his own bed, that he can over come this. 18/19 year olds are very naive, and while his development may well have prospered at Saints, what's done is done. Whose benefit was it for? Certainly his bank balance has shot up, but so has that of his agent and any other hanger-on that got their dibs into him.
