SSN said RK said they are not for sale but they believe that they could still leave.

He's a Scouser - maybe he plays for the club he supports and is happy with that. I know I would be.

I am just thinking, that while reports are that she has no interest in football, is SFC a good investment for KL (presuming that she doesn't need the money back right away), or at least one that gives a return? If she was to take out say £10-15m every year or when player sales allow for it, then the loans or whatever she is owed can be paid back (if no silly interest rates are attached). While it is medium to long term, surely there is currently enough money from TV rights, player sales (if this year is to be judged!!) to be able to run the club prudently (maybe without the unrealistic talk of CL - but if it happens, it happens) and take money out without being detrimental to the operation of the club? I have absolutely no problems with her taking (some) money out, if that doesn't come across as being arrogant, and if someone comes and buys the club, so be it and maybe everyone wins.

Who knows? Maybe the advice was given that things had gotten out of control and someone needed to get a grip and sort things out, otherwise there was no chance of a sale. Maybe a potential purchaser said don't **** it up any more otherwise they would pull out. Ralph will repeat the same thing. Encouraging but here are far too many buts in there to be wholly convinced. Make some good signings of equal quality (if possible) and end up £50m up, then I will be happy.

Even if they don't want to play and don't actually play, I think it vital for the appearance of the club that they don't get sold. It will also likely put a stop to anyone else (hopefully). 5 is bad enough (excluding Osvaldo, although the press like to include him so they can stack up the numbers), but not overly upset with Sir Rickie leaving, nor Shaw given that we get £30m, nor for that matter £25m-ish for Lallana. Chambers - a shame. Lovren would have preferred to have stayed, but I guess for £20m....... So if they do stay, and every one else as well, then maybe, just maybe things won't look so bad. We've signed two good replacements (time will of course tell how good), and if we get more in, then the position really won't look as bad as all that. Maybe. If MS & JRod do stay.
-
David, not sure Mr Motivator would want to have SACKED on his CV.
-
To be honest, it's a bit too late. When Chambers said that he didn't see his future at Saints and wanted to be off, someone should have clipped him around the earhole and told him to grow up, buckle down and get on with it. Maybe Lovren should have been told that as well, but at least Lovren put in a transfer request. We'll see what happens. The Board have blown their credibility, so only time will tell.

Will be interesting to see of they go on strike, or at least MS.

I thought that we weren't dealing with Spurs?
-
I was presuming that that is all done and dusted, or are you expecting more to go? Maybe it is, and that is why Ralph is going on the radio.

He just needs to be honest. If there are confidentiality cluases in place, he just has to say that. Bullshïtting time has been and gone a long long time ago. To me, this is make or break for him. No mealy mouthed crap. Pithy, to the point. Bang. Call a **** a ****.

Well on the bright side of things, when I said that I felt sad for my son and that I could not match his enthusiasm, I asked him over breakfast who played for Saints. He reeled off 10 names, none which are part of the "Magnificent Seven". Was quite proud (that is until those that he named decide that the grass is greener elsewhere). Also on the plus side, my father with his Alzheimer's got confused with the strip. SFC vs NUFC was one where I had to keep telling him Newcastle were the ones in stripes. I am sincerely hoping that RK can instil a siege mentality in the players and that they bond so tightly that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. Anyone wants a happy pill, then drop me a line and I can send you one.
-
With respect to the OP, if that is all true (and I have no reason to not think that it is) then the board NEED TO COME OUT AND TELL US THAT THAT IS SO. I think all supporters would understand the choice made or are there confidentiality clauses with NC's departure? It would also show up the players for what they are, which we all know anyway - mercenaries, and a wee bit ungrateful (despite the parting words thanking the club/staff). What really upsets me these days, is the way that football players are held up as role models. Is being hugely nummamorous really the goal of so many people?

http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/11365053.Saints_sign_teenage_Torquay_keeper/?ref=arc Is this what they mean by buying English?

Bored of all the leaving threads. Want to know if anyone confirmed that they are staying? I am presuming Harrison Reed, McQueen, Pelle and Tadic. Anyone else?
-
Maybe Koeman has integrity - bringing Pelle and Tadic here, along with his brother and their respective families, he may not want to leave them high and dry by walking out. He's also in a no lose situation. Keep us up = hero. Relegated = what did you expect?

French jornalist Romain Molina says Liebherr wants to sell
angelman replied to Bewildered's topic in The Saints
Because I am not sure that allowing all the players to leave in a period of 2 months can be considered to be running the club sensibly. Maybe she had no choice and couldn't stop it. But you are right, it is a mug's game. All I hope is, and I am more than aware that that is a vain hope, that our demise will be a wake up call to the rest of football. It won't. We will get spat out and left on the side, while 13 or 14 spineless other Chairmen in the league thank their lucky stars that there is another team that has suddenly entered into the relegation race. And the more I hear the radio, and seee TV/papers, the more I wonder what on earth I am doing having a ST and going to the football. It's nothing but Man U this, Liverpool that, Chelsea/Man City/Arsenal/Spurs the other. And now of course, in a somewhat different manner, us! Journos seem to have got over their schadenfreude and have moved into pity. That's all well and good, but they are still wholly ignoring why/how this is happening. -
You know what, in all this saga, this is what annoys me the most. I have a father with Alzheimer's who still loves going to the footie, and an 8yo who talks of nothing but footie. He starts off in the morning and doesn't stop. I have been trying to explain what has been going on and I see that it goes over his head. He is Saints mad.

Maybe Remi Martin is some sort of Asti or something. Would have thought the boys at Remy Martin would be a little ****ed at the close name.
-
LOL. When that happened, that was one of the things that crossed my mind.

Saints might be slightly different with the academy. If you can sell a player or two for £15-30m that you have developed yourself, then it might make sense. I always have said that Bale has done us more favours than the amount of money that we missed out on. Now we can add Shaw to that. -
True, what I meant really, is are these sales of players part of the pre-sale of the club, or are they just a mass exodus out of the control of the board/manager?
-
StevieG, ta for that. Are we for sale or not?

People seem to forget why ML bought the club in the first place. It wasn't altruistic, it was a business decision and it was a bit of a bargain to boot. Oh he might have enjoyed it, but it was always there to make money.
