  1. Cheers CL. If anyone doubts him, that's fine, but the intention is in the right place. I am sure that not all info is going to be correct. There is a bit of playing going on here. All those with contacts in the club seem to be being played a little.
  2. The French papers article was interesting. Sell all the players because a new owner would like a blank canvas - it's the ego of the rich. So if that is the case, is there a new owner (all bar paperwork) who is sanctioning the purchases? If not, then the sales and restocking of expensivish players seems strange. I am confused. Time for more drink.
  3. Someone has been quite clever. If someone wants to buy the club, then the clock is really ticking.
  4. We've got nothing to loose now. Just say NO to MS, JRod and anyone else.
  5. A lot of people needed to MTFU, but I guess it's too late for that now.
  6. Do we? I've given up caring.
  7. The sad thing is, that Liverpool, Spurs, Man Utd, Arsenal and anyone else who rapes us, along with the players themselves, couldn't give two ****s what they have done to this club.
  8. I'll speak to my old man, as one is his, and I might join you. But rather depends on signings. But why would anyone sign?
  9. Yup. Very very close. Will probably see this season out. Having not missed a game last season save for when I was on hols, I can see myself not bothering going to a fair few, even if it means wasting the ST.
  10. But NC treated him like **** and he is still here. Anyway, that was a light bit of banter but serious in that he is not seemingly wanting to bunk off (yes I know he's not as highly rated as others). But would you agree that if we can keep the core, then the additions might be bedded in without too much trouble? Is that overly wishful on my part? I couldn't get to sleep last night because of this. It's strange how a football club can get to you. My life won't change if we get relegated. Saints is entertainment. But damn, it gets to me and I can't put my finger on why. I guess once you've followed it for nigh on 40 years that's what happens. I quite like the way it is affecting me like I am a little kid again.
  11. ....and before I go a drown my sorrows, if we can keep what's left (presuming Morgan and JRod are off), then I am sure that assimilating new players is not impossible. That is a big IF, as who the **** know who is going or staying. So if we can keep the following for continuity purposes Boruc, Fonte and possibly Yoshida, Clyne, JWP, Cork, Wanyama & Davis coupled with Pelle and Tadic, who should have enough time to have settled in, then while it is beyond obvious that the upheavals will be difficult to overcome, I don't think it impossible. Of course if you throw 11 new players in it will be disastrous, but keep a core of players who have played together, then who know what might happen. Targett seems that he might well be able to step up easily enough. I hope McQueen & Reed do as well. Sam G -hmmmm. And to end on a really bright note, we've still got Billy Sharp. Of all the players at the club, and how he has been treated, he still seems to display more loyalty and integrity than most.
  12. I wouldn't. They have all shown themselves for what they are. **** em all. Sell the lot. Wonder whether my interest in football is going to run out before the season even starts. Fortunately I am away on holiday soon, so I don't have to watch this **** develop.
  13. Richmond are you going to resign and take your trite posts with you? I do hope so.
  14. I find it sad and depressing when clubs go into administration for less than a player earns in a week.
  15. I agree FF, that the CL does no good for the majority of clubs. Not only does it bring even more riches to clubs, thus increasing the disparity between the very few haves and the majority that are have nots, but it has also ruined the PL. To a certain extent that is the fault of the FA, as the CL places are theirs to decide how they are filled. I would love the 4th spot to be given to the winners of the FA Cup. That would both reinvigorate the venerable competition, it would also give a chance to other clubs to participate at the feast. But no, the PL would never have that. The PL is selfish beyond belief, and SFC is included in this. It takes sooooo much money, when really there is enough to share around a lot more. It's very easy for Saints fans (or maybe it is just me) to feel disillusioned with the PL/CL/state of football because of what has been going on over the past two months. To be honest I think that many of us knew well before then, when we were in the lower leagues and before that the whole thing was broken. No point going over all that again, but really, something needs to be done about the future otherwise the disparity is just going to get worse and worse, the competition more pointless if that is possible. But I have to ask, is anyone in the corridors of power, or involved in the PL or even the press, remotely concerned like more and more supporters are becoming? I suspect Randy Lerner is experiencing the problems that are manifesting themselves now. We certainly are. Both are very different, but the cause is the same. OK, there are a few reports coming out in the press but the majority seem to pander to the big clubs. Martin Samuels had a good piece about FFP hamstringing Villa's sale. I think when the shadnefreude surrounding our predicament has died down, and someone actually takes the time to examine how a club in a secure financial position can get ripped apart so easily (and let's try and avoid countering that with it's asset stripping) they might begin to question how what happened and that it cannot be good for the game. Maybe that is fanciful thinking, but certainly last season, at the beginning we garnered a lot of support. To me, and I might be wrong, it was nothing to do with some warm feeling towards Saints. It was just down to us sitting in 3rd place, having won at Liverpool and drawn at Utd, and being in the mix and temporarily breaking the predictability of the league.
  16. calm, resilient and above all patient. Calm - I think that most of us were calm after the manager, the main striker for the past 5 years, the captain and the outstanding 18yo left back were sold. We were resigned that Lovren was going due to **** poor man management on the club's part. But Chambers - I think we have been calm enough for the past 2 months. Resilient - sure we will in time. You Mr Reed are unlikely to be a Saints supporter and will be long gone when we spring back to where we were. If you think that we will be anywhere near last season then you are barking mad. If we are, then I'll send you a case of champagne (6 bottles not 12!!). I would like to think that you read the forum - if so we could make a wager and have this as a two way thing. Patient - are we to be patient like Man Utd fans were with Moyes summer transfer activity last year? At least they had the benefit of not selling half the team that started, with probably more to come.
  17. The question they seem to be failing to address is why he felt that his future wasn't with us, at least in the short term. Was it purely money? It probably wouldn't be game time. Wenger said it was a risk, we didn't consider him a risk. He's a Nike sponsored kid. I wonder if they ever put pressure on clubs to sign certain players.
  18. As you say, whoever writes this **** obviously doesn't see the irony of the complete dichotomy of writing this - "determined to keep our best young players at the club" - and the actual course of action taken.
  19. He has spoken........... 20. I think your user name might suggest you might have more important things to offer than your playing ability.
  21. Strewth - we have a surfeit of LB/CBs.
  22. I used to be left back and/or centre back. 6ft3, 15st 8lbs, as quick as a slow thing but used to read the game well and had a big kick.
  23. To me, there are so many mixed messages that it isn't even worth trying to understand what is going on. We flog everyone, yet we are about to splash out £50m or so newspaper articles say.
