Because I imagine that a lot of people have stretched themselves to buy a ST to be entertained by SFC and are now questioning whether they have been duped and are going to get a far inferior "product" to what they were expecting. As for waiting a few weeks, why bother. You can't change things, so why worry. Come ST renewal next year, that is when you can make your decision.

I do think that you need to take the new TV deal into account and that there is vastly more money swilling around corrupting the integrity of the game than ever before, increasing transfer fees.
-
Or Big Sam - there are murmurings he could get the chop before the season starts. Would be nice for some other club other than us to get some **** thrown at them.
-
Last lot of tickets going out this week, so was told if not here by Friday to give them a call again. He chuckled when I asked whether it had been sent to Liverpool by mistake.
-
I'm not just talking about the first match. We all know what happened to attendances at the end of the Lowe days. When relegated from nPC, the average attendance was 17,849 (not that I am saying it will be that bad).

I see it slightly differently.... It is obvious from Lovren that we can be a stepping stone for players to get to bigger clubs. That in itself is attractive for them. Sadly I think that we will approach this sort of thing with nothing but scepticism, as this dismantling of the team will last a long time. But....if we were to play hard ball, cause acrimony with the players wanting to leave rather than acquiescing to their demands, then maybe future players would say that although it could be a stepping stone, what is the point of coming here if we are going to make is too hard to take that step? Same with the academy. I imagine parents will see us very much as a stepping stone and enrol their kids with us in the hope that we can turn them into a Shaw or Bale. Make it too hard for their little darlings to reach the top, then they might consider going elsewhere. It's (possibly) a fine line.

The supporters/customers might be "stupid short-termist panickers" but it is arrogant to ignore why they are being "stupid short-termist panickers". Take your customers for granted and you might find yourself going backwards. In this instance, football supporters are much more of a captive audience than other businesses, but we'll see what happens with the attendance figures. If they drop from 30k to say 28k, is it really worth not allaying customers fears and potentially losing out on so much revenue?

I am afraid to say that you are correct here. The only way I would believe anything from SFC, and it is something I think KL should seriously do right now (ie today), is replace Ralph and the words come from someone who knows what they are doing.

I might ask them about the Liverpool bit and see what they say!

Because we are customers. A customer is the most important visitor on our premises. He is not dependent on us. We are dependent on him. He is not an interruption in our work. He is the purpose of it. He is not an outsider in our business. He is part of it. We are not doing him a favor by serving him. He is doing us a favor by giving us an opportunity to do so. Mahatma Ghandi

out of interest, has anyone had their tickets delivered? Had a postcard saying it would be along soon, and I am sure they said mid July.
-
True. will be interesting to see the game implode. Maybe it will be us, maybe Villa, maybe someone else. But the whole thing deserves to close down.
-
Oh come off it, this really is hardly earth shattering. It's been obvious that the club has been up for sale for a fair while, or rather basically since ML passed away. Why should you take on your father's businesses if you have no interest in them?

Could be taken the wrong way!!

And talk about Forster, Clasie and de Vrij (which may or may not happen). That is why I am so bloody confused. Of course it could be because the board is so faffing incompetent at fending off offers and communicating what direction the club is going in to the staff. If they can't do that, then there is little wonder that us fans have no ****ing idea what is going on.
-
OK, the board has said nothing, and seemingly only tried to maximise transfer fees while signing two replacements. As the board REFUSE to say what direction the club are going in and what is expected, then all one can assume is that there is no ambition. Are they ever going to come out and explain WTF is going on? BTW I have decided that bed wetting, until proper replacements and a decent number of them are signed, is the best way to be. I just want to know whether we are ****ed or right royally ****ed. I am sort of leaning towards the former given our 2 signings so far. If we were to sign some real good replacements, then I can't quite get my head around why we are letting all these players go. I know the appeal of the bigger clubs that they have all gone to - is that it? It would be nice for some reassurance, but I am not expecting any from our board.
-
The club statement seems to emphasise "significant fee". Great. Is Koeman going to see any more of the £80m odd that has been raised? Is this the domino effect we were being told about, as I thought that it was for incomers rather than outgoers?
-
OK, so that's the comment at Shaw's sale. Reed said that funds raised from sales go to Koeman, but frankly I don't waste my time believing Reed, not that he has said anything for weeks.

What like this sort of thing? http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?50340-Hysterical-reaction-to-no-news&p=1944452#post1944452

If you take out £100m in sales, then the £200m offered might be reduced to £100m, or certainly it should be adjusted that way.

For me, there is one very easy thing I ask. Having spent over £1400 to renew 2 tickets, I don't think it would be too much (speaking as a customer) for the company I have given my money to, to actually come out and say something. Now if I have customers who had bought a product that hadn't seen it's course run (ie in this case a ST that would be valid until the end of next season), then I would see it as my duty to keep them informed that there was not asset stripping going on and offer some reassurances. Is that really too much to ask for? So far we have had fairly hollow words some months ago (or is it weeks - time seems to drag a bit?). As a business, their silence may well cost (season) ticket sales and other income. If there is nothing nefarious going on then it is a bit foolish to alienate your customers - if something nefarious is going on, then **** the customer as they aren't very important. I intend to get full use out of my ST this coming season and hope/expect that it won't be that bad (optimistic hat on) but it might well be at the rate we are going (pessimistic hat on). Koeman is still there and my hope is in/with him.

Maybe they were ok up until the owner placed a new charge on them.

Glasgow is dead. Long live Glasgow.

The thing that I do find strange is that there has been **** all from the board recently. Its best to try and keep your customers happy and this just isn't happening. Personally I am a little ambivalent as if the board **** us over I am likely to wash my hands of the PL and footie, but I realise others feel differently. As there has been no word, I can only think that the worst is happening but I guess all will be clear in a week or so.

I like it how half the posters here say that buying lots of players isn't going to help as they will never gel. Liverpool and their fans expect to win things with even more new players. I know the situation is somewhat different but the outlook of some of the fans is at polar opposites.
