Actually what I read seemed quite balanced. TBH, you don't support Stoke or Saints for the glory, so you tend (!!) to get somewhat more objectivity.
-
Agree that if Austin absent, Long and Gabbi. WTF do you do with Carrillo?
-
Think it is the best we could have done. Struggle 1st half, MH go in and tell them what should happen, it happens and we win.
-
In fairness, we all love an underdog. L1 vs PL in the FA Cup - you gotta want L1 to win.
-
Carrillo - saying that I would far rather Long is all that really needs to be said about him.
-
Oh do STFU you little tit.
-
better 5 mins

Let's just wait until the second half. Nothing was going to be achieved so quickly and just on the training ground. But boy, we did look ****. It can't get much worse.
-
We don't look great.
-
FFS home atmosphere has been fine given the **** we have been served up. Just imagine if it was somewhere like WHU.
-
Looking forward to tomorrow but realise that this could be Hughes's honeymoon (and no longer) and if we don't get a win but helps him find out what's what, then a shame but so be it.
-
Good that he wants to stay on beyond the end of the season. TBH we are about the biggest he is likely to get in this country at the moment, that is, if he can keep us up. At least he has a goal to aim for beyond the 8 games.

With all the arm chair experts out there saying that it is the recycling of another failed manager, that it is an uninspired appointment, that they hope we get relegated (why that is because we have replaced a donkey with Hughes is anyone's guess), that we are doomed, etc etc......I can't wait to see Hughes show them all that they are completely wrong. Well, I hope that I will be able to see that!!

Funding Grassroots Football Petition on Change.org
angelman replied to Gorgiesaint's topic in The Saints
I would add a 10-15% surcharge (if not higher) on all player signings from overseas that would go to grass roots. -
Agree that the timing was utter pony. This year's PL games that we should or could have won....Palace (lost), Watford (drew), Brighton (drew), WBA (won), Burnley (drew), Stoke (drew), Newcastle (lost). So out of a possible 21 points, we get 7

Foreign. Like why we have to go abroad to sign players rather than look down the league.
-
Can't disagree with this. TBH I was unaware of his record being as good as that, and maybe I too am guilty of looking at QPR too much. But doing that, and just looking at poor finishing positions, doesn't take into account what is going on in the background.
-
For those that are underwhelmed, as well as all other football supporters out there that seem to be commenting, who exactly do you think we should have signed? I see all these comments about how uninspired it was, and how it is just recycling the same old failures. I really have no idea what people expect. If we signed someone "inspired", ie that had never managed in the PL before, then those same people would be saying we were mad. It is ridiculous to think that we should appoint someone without any experience of the PL for the remaining 8 games, and who is also available. So that limits things a bit now, doesn't it?

I'm hearing that too.

https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/931918/Southampton-Mark-Hughes-Premier-League I said offer someone £2m and was told that it wasn't that much.

LOL - that one slipped past me, although now that I think about it, it does ring a bell. But thank **** for that then.
-
The thing that worries me is that Ryan Giggs's name hasn't been mentioned....! Every other time his name comes up, he gets overlooked.

This, and I would add let's just wait and see who it is before writing off anyone.
