£19.2m doesn't get you a lot these days.

Do you think Kat gives a monkeys about ruining her father's legacy
angelman replied to lumuah's topic in The Saints
I look at the OP and wonder what people think ML's legacy actually is. To me the legacy is leaving a business investment to his daughter and heir, and to that end, he and she have done very well from it. He did not buy the club for our benefit. They did not run the club for our benefit - they looked after their investment. So his legacy is to her, not us. -
My conference/course has been called off up in London, so they'd better not call of the game now that I can go to it!

Maybe, but the problem runs deeper and the PL seems more than happy with it, not that they can do much about it. We pay say £75-100k max. Liverpool pay twice that. That is all you have to really look at. Player knows he can earn more elsewhere, and he's off in a flash if he can. If he can't then he can mope about until he gets the move rather than the whole team suffer from the negativity.

Bloody hope it is cancelled as can't make the game

Hope the game on Sat is postponed as I can't make it (that is unless the conference I have to go to is cancelled).

Aren't we just there to provide background atmosphere as playing in an empty stadium isn't great for TV?

Have to agree a little with Benji, esp q7. Maybe my problem is that I don't use social media, and therefore I have no idea whether there is a rise in racism or not, yet the questionnaire supposes that the person taking it does use it. Q7 is telling me that there has been, which leads to why I was asked Q5. Anyway, I filled it in the best I could from the perspective of a middle aged season ticket holder.

Beattie was top English scorer 2002/3 with 23 league goals, 1 behind Henry and 2 behind van Nistelrooy. http://www.worldfootball.net/goalgetter/eng-premier-league-2002-2003/ Was he picked for England?? In 2003 he made 1 substitute appearance. Our forward line..... Heskey and Owen, with Rooney and Vassell. League goals in the 2002/3 season...Owen 19, Vassell 8, Rooney 6, Heskey 6.

Agree, not really much need for discussion.

They'll get an equaliser....

As Executive Director I think it probably is. Or do you think that maybe David Thomas or Toby Steele have that remit? Or maybe Khali Parsons?

Pellegrino: Under Pressure Footballers are taking Sleeping Pills
angelman replied to yellow&blue's topic in The Saints
Maybe he thinks talking about it in the open is helpful -
What has being less well off got to do with being more passionate??

Dimplex is correct. Puel was a hugely under whelming appointment, regardless of how he is doing at Leicester.

when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth

Having said the above, it would be nice to know what the owner has in mind for the club.

2 is not a mistake that has cost us anything. And as for the first part of 3, do you really need the way football works explained?
-
I might be doing those that run the game a disservice, but it seems that they seem to come down on the side of the accuser when it comes to racism.

I disagree with most people about the Forren signing. I put it in the same camp as the Caceres one. It was insurance (aka cover) to what we had. Gardos, a Romanian international, seemed a perfectly normal signing. Of course injuries have been his problem, as well as Fonte, Alderweireld

Lambert - OK Clyne - last year of his contract and wasn't going to sign a new one. Fairly standard. Mané - a bit of the above in that he wasn't going to sign a new contract, would have liked to have kept 1 more year, but maybe there was attitude. Not too sure on this one. Lovren - c*ck. His head was in Liverpool etc etc. van Dijk - bigger c*ck Lallana - biggest c*ck. Now I don't go into all this hate business, although I do get that its always good to have a pantomime villain or two. It's football and my views on how footballers behave is pretty simple. They don't know how to. With ever more money floating around, their behaviour gets even less savoury. But having said that, you do expect your captain to hold his counsel and when a Scouse kid asks you whether you are going to play for them, you don't reply "hopefully". And then to take a 2 page spread out to make yourself feel better was half narcissism, half taking supporters as fools in some lame attempt to pretend that you aren't and haven't acted as a cooont. And of course his appearance is the icing on the cake. What he thinks he looks like is anyone's guess, but it isn't a good look.

Did we really have any intention of buying Promes?
angelman replied to ChiefScummer's topic in The Saints
Our squad is perfectly good enough and capable of finishing high up the table. Just buying because they are not being utilised properly seems to be what the fans demand, but is not a very good way of doing business.
