I think it’s a mental thing. They are not quite as aggressive or adventurous once they have grabbed a lead. Not much in it but ay be just enough to make a difference. It’s like just after you’ve eaten when you’re not quite so ravenous.

I have a theory about this. Ralph likes a high pressing style which is likely to get us a first half lead but this is difficult to maintain for 90 minutes both physically and psychologically. Once we have won a lead the players are more likely to defend it than go chasing more goals. Just a theory.
