The premier League has become a rich man's plaything. In fact it's more than that now. It's a rich country's plaything. There is so much money involved that there is no room left for true sport in any version of the concept. TV has bought its soul and has paid so much for it that it has to hype up every aspect of the game. I shake my head in sorrow over what has become of the beautiful game.
