Many thanks. I couldn’t possibly comment Thanks, I don’t know if I did at the time. We’ve actually been together since we first met when we were both sixteen and that was in 1966. What a great year that was Fifty five years that have gone by in the blinking of an eye and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. Well you never know who reads these things 😳

Some did. Some didn’t.

Thanks. We’re having our daughter and family for lunch. It makes a change from roast lamb

It was a good game between two evenly matched teams in my view. If West Ham had won they could have gone to the top of the table.

You don’t need to explain any of the Laws to me. ” and accepted that the correct call may well have been made. You have obviously missed the point that I and others have made. In that situation the referee should wait a few seconds to see what advantage, if any, arises. Then he can stop play and administer the second yellow. We are not talking about a long time here, just some awareness of the onfield situation. Antonio would have taken no part in that counter attack so could not have scored or made a block.

That’s the story of my life. And incidentally it’s our 51st wedding anniversary today 🎂

I can sort of understand their own reluctance to get vaccinated even if I do think they are being stupid but why do they think that they can try to persuade others not to have the jab? If they want the freedom to choose not to have it then others must also be free to choose for themselves.

I suspect that this is starting to get a bit monotonous for some readers but the important words here are “must consider”. This referee did nothing of the sort and jumped straight to the yellow card. It was not mandatory that he awarded a second yellow even if it was richly deserved. There are three other items in that list apart from the one about distance to goal.
-
We disagree. But I repeat my point. The referee never even had a look around. Some referees might take the view that being a long way from goal is not a clear opportunity, but not all of them.
-
Well there was. Broja was well into their half and about to race past the last defender and Diallo was about to play the ball through for him. It was clear to everyone in the stadium except for the referee and this is the key point. The referee was completely unaware of the situation behind him and never even glanced round to have a look and therefore was not in a position to decide if there was a goalscoring opportunity. It was poor refereeing even if he was within his rights to stop play right away. David Coote. Remember the name. He is not without controversy and even during this game he made some weird decisions.

Congratulations. Tremendous tennis and not a grunt or squeal to be heard.
-
That doesn’t show the situation in their half. Do you have a wider view? (Unlike the referee) I’m not saying that he didn’t but the whole stadium could see the overall situation. He could and should have waited a few seconds more. He also has a duty to allow advantage where the non offending team will benefit. Not even a glance over his right shoulder.

Was unlucky to get booked for that challenge near the end. The ball squirted away sideways which is usually an indication of a fair challenge but I’d like to see it again.

Where's our next clean sheet going to come from?

So let’s consider it started. I’ll go for next Saturday -
I think you’ll find that we were well into their half with good attacking possibilities. He should have waited a few seconds more to see how it developed.

Earlier in the season. Away to Newcastle for a start but especially at Everton.
-
Steady on! He was good today but he was at fault (along with others) for some of the early goals. I think he needs to control his aggression and gets too personally involved at times. He had no need to get so stuck into Antonio.

Clean shite today -
I am his biggest critic but Stephens was excellent today. Salisu was very good and brilliant Broja was a beast. The way he pushed the ball past Ogbonna and then surged past him was thrilling.
-
It was only as open as it was because the UK couldn't be bothered to close it.
-
It is not and never has been fully free movement.
-
We were looking tired and overrun in the final few minutes. Three substitutions staggered sequentially would have taken the sting out of the Poles and given some respite to our players. Very strange.
-
No substitutes used.
-
Suckers. Spent all that time trying to control the game instead of going all out for goal. For the last ten minutes you could see that coming.

He won’t have enough digits. He doesn’t live in Portsmouth.
