  1. The terminals are associated with individual airlines and shuffling the aircraft around the airport is not straightforward. There is also the question of airline staff having to operate at different terminals.
  2. There’s a good reason for that.
  3. Quentin Letts writing about Hancock in The Times yesterday about Parliament, “And if the clanking toll of the leprosy collection cart’s bell ever permitted, he hoped that they would “enjoy the new freedoms that we’re thankfully able to give them”. And this is how he really does see it: “new” freedoms, and he is “giving them” to us. You lucky people.“
  4. Not at the moment he isn’t. What was he doing for their goals? Or rather, what was he not doing?
  5. Is that what they call it now? An ex army officer who had been in charge along the border in Cyprus told me that in the married quarters the sign was a box of OMO in the window. It stood for 'Old Man Out'. Allegedly.
  6. He put in a good shift today, a lot of it defensive work that wasn’t in the centre of the picture but effective nevertheless.
  7. A lot of their chances came from shots on target whilst our shots went way over the bar.
  8. Unfortunately the suspicion is that politics and political correctness might be involved.
  9. It’s down to the granularity though. If (!) most of the new positives are in a community that is largely unvaccinated then they won’t get much sympathy from me either. If the new cases are spread evenly throughout the population then that deserves a closer look.
  10. It was a real pleasure to be able to watch a game instead of the heavily processed version we get on the TV. I could see the whole pitch, I could see the runs of players who weren’t on the ball whether they were attacking or defending, I could see what options the defenders had and I could see the reasons why they might not release the ball quickly. The crowd seemed very sparse though and it didn’t help to create much atmosphere.
  11. If the increase in positives is amongst the unvaccinated then why the concern?
  12. We’re below average because of our keepers. Not entirely but it’s part of the problem.
  13. Meh. This season can’t end soon enough for me. First half good, second half bad. Their goals were down the other end from us but they both looked soft. Having looked at them now that I’m back home I thin that McCarthy could have done a lot better with both of them.
  14. We've just got in through the yellow gate. The just checked our tickets for the correct entrance and some were being scanned through but we were let through on a clicker. I hands my driving licence ready but it wasn't needed. 18 year old grandson didn't need ID either.
  15. My memory is of Le Tiss and Strachan sitting on the wall beneath the East Stand during a pause in the game. Have I got the right game?
  16. As usual for 'the UK' read 'London'. Weather only happens in London.
  17. How many of these infections are people who came in from India? Increased vaccinations will not reduce cases in those areas that have not been vaccinated. The devil is in the detail, which we don't have.
  18. It's a good deal, if the price is right.
  19. Surely you have to also consider the number of tests that produce these positive results? The number of cases (positives) is not the total number in the population as a whole but only a sample of it. We need to consider all the factors such as the ending of Ramadan.
  20. I look at it as 'we're safe, good chance to try out other players and systems'.
  21. Never in doubt
  22. He doesn’t make mistakes when he isn’t playing either
  23. We don't need to win three in a row. We only need to win one in a row now.
  24. A fair and balanced article. The answer seems to be that “nobody knows”
  25. And quite a few on here, I suspect.
