  1. Nah, they're way below that.
  2. The Mané of today or the Mané that first arrived?
  3. No, please. Please, no.
  4. Is it too much to hope for both?
  5. Because if you don't quote a source then other forum members might think that the words you post are your own views and opinions and are your own personal contribution.
  6. Much of it is paid through representative companies in the form of 'image rights' and all sorts of tax dodges.
  7. And the French were our allies in Crimea. It was French Cavalry who protected the left flank of the Light Brigade and covered their retreat.
  8. That's another Facebook quote, Batman. Please either acknowledge your sources or write something original.
  9. I'm digressing a bit (as usual) but the ferry company's income used to be 1/3 fares 1/3 freight and 1/3 duty free. With the current political set-up of predominantly pro-EU MPs I cannot see us ever settling for less than Single Market access and all that entails including free movement of labour.
  10. NI is often overlooked. Payroll Tax I call it.
  11. I'm looking forward to it. But who do I support? Those plucky loyal Northern Irish or the traitorous secessionist Welsh? Tough choice.
  12. That will be debated for some time. There were some comments about the timing coming at a bad time for those in education what with exams and stuff. Personally I'm all for compulsory voting. Shall we take a vote on it?
  13. Because it isn't democratic. Discuss:
  14. Be my guest: http://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/it-will-take-an-age-to-recover-from-this-victory-for-the-exit-fantasists-zzfpxsc66
  15. Yes it is an awful place to live. Overcrowded (You should know about that but at least you can get out the country easily). Poor-quality infrastructure, high housing costs, high taxation, high cost of living. Ireland on the other hand... France even.
  16. I don't recall any saying that.
  17. Indeed. Why did they vote to leave if nothing changed?
  18. I'm sure they haven't, nobody could be that stupid. Perhaps it's because he's a toff and people think that if you're well-spoken then you must be intelligent.
  19. Give it a chance, we haven't actually left the EU yet. It's at this stage that I point out that constitutionally and legally this referendum was only 'advisory' although politically it is extremely difficult for the politicians to ignore. Be prepared for a few months of international wibbling and wobbling and hedging and fudging also involving Scotland and Ireland. Cameron's decision to not resign until October has bought some holding time before actually invoking Article 50 and there will be big upheavals in British politics before that occurs, if it ever does. We could very well end up with some form of 'associate membership' on offer and another referendum or, more likely, a general election based on a call for a new mandate.
  20. The situation is not entirely clear apparently. Scotland hasn't seceded from a member state, it's already a part of one. There are no explicit rules to cover it.
  21. And how many immigrants have been kicked out? How much more money is there today for the NHS? Let's wait a couple of years before we start smugly gloating.
  22. I fear you may be right, in fact I'm sure you are. I'm beginning to regret the outcome of the last general election.
  23. I don't think you get it. For a change of this magnitude it was almost 50/50. Certainly less than half the electorate voted to leave, and much less of the population. This wasn't an election.
  24. I'm jealous. What do you have to do to get a French passport?
  25. According to that logic you want them to undergo a couple of decades of hardship just like us. I also went through those years and I wanted my grandchildren to enjoy a prosperous and liberal future life. You've taken that away from them.
