We all know that he’ll never get his system to work so he can either fail miserably or fail bravely.

Games will be played over both weeks. Supposedly to reduce fixture congestion but more probably to suit the TV coverage so that they can have more games. That’s also probably the reason that the kickoff time hasn’t been fixed yet.

It isn’t compulsory you know. It’s just a short-term fashion.

We only scored the one goal. Far too close for comfort. Don’t forget that Leeds (Dan James?) hit the crossbar and how differently it could all have ended. We didn’t need possession football to score that goal and without it we might have scored more. Who knows, we might even have got automatic promotion without it.

He’s shy of work? When did they find this out?

There. Fixed it for you 😁

For things to change, we have to change.

There’s an old saying. Nobody ever scored from the Royal Box.

Of course it’s a big deal. It’s an invasion of personal space. I would have refused. Even emptying your pockets is bad enough. We don’t know who these people are and they could quite easily be marking up targets for their pickpocket muggermates just around the corner. What next? Drop your knickers and bend over and let me examine you up the arse?

Not nonsense. As I have said elsewhere, the errors result from the increased pressure in this league. There is less time and space and it causes mental overload. That’s why teams use the press.

That’s uncalled for. -
He’s a bulldozer of a player and we’re using him as a lawn trimmer.

He kept talking about ‘mistakes’, not his mistake in choosing the wrong system but the players’ mistakes. These are not unforced errors even if they may appear so at the time. They are the result of pressure from the opposition over a passage of time. It’s so easy for them. Turn up the screw and then strike when there is the slightest opportunity. His system invites this pressure and what he calls mistakes will inevitably follow. Describing them as mistakes is to pass the blame onto his players whereas it’s his system that has caused them.

For us? I admire your optimism. -

We’re already at the stage of needing a point per game to survive. -
We’ve seen it for a long while now. Forward players make darting runs and are ignored. It can’t be a surprise if they eventually give up on them.
-
Indeed. Pass the parcel using a live hand grenade with the pin taken out.
-
So it does. That is disgraceful. That leaves them open to all sorts of complaints.

We’re heading for the rocks. How long would you leave it before changing course? -
Of course he has been drilling this style into his players. He has a vision of how football should be played and the owners of the club have given him the keys to the toy box and the opportunity to fulfil his dream. But suddenly he has been found out. All the training that they’ve done during the week goes out the window as soon as they go over the top into the real world of the Premier League. Everything is happening at a much faster and more intense level. For him to say that he doesn’t know why his players are passing it backwards just reveals his ineptitude. They are doing it because they’re under pressure. It’s something that they’re not used to and haven’t trained for. The answer is to get the ball further up the field and to hang on to it longer once it gets there. It’s not helped by players such as Smallbone who ping the ball back as soon as it’s passed to him, usually when he’s in space.. He’s not helping his defenders. Just once in a while I’d love for our midfielders to receive the ball and then turn and look upfield.

Hard to see what’s happening in that confusion. I was trying to look for players’ names but half of them seem to be called EZZE

Doesn’t answer your complaint and doesn’t mention wallets. That is a gross invasion of privacy. Tell them that you made a mistake about there being £500 missing and that it’s now gone up to £1000. 😉 They can’t prove that it wasn’t in there.

See the light? Strap him to a chair, shine a floodlight in his eyes and pour cold water over him until he admits that he’s wrong.

Why is it nonsensical if it’s obvious he’s out of his depth? This season it’s all failures and no successes. And I’m not reducing it to just a matter of three results. It’s clear to everyone that his strategy and tactics are not working and he won’t change them. I wouldn’t sack him today but I would want a full discussion with him about how he’s going to fundamentally change the way that we play because we cannot go on like this through the whole season. It’s one big ego trip for him and it’s suicidal. No sack today then but I’d be surreptitiously looking at alternatives.
-
No he hasn’t. He was employed to get us promoted, which he did. Last season is done and gone.
